Late day free-flight is always magical, especially in Geneseo, where it appears to be held in a dome of sorts, bringing calm to the field for the final 3 hours of light.More often than not, even if the day had been windy. We can fly past 9:30. Incredible.
Came for the Coronado, stayed for the rest. I made peanut ff when I was a teen, 54 now, and so wish I knew all you guys. There was no one to fly with in CA where I was. I'm so happy to see balsa pilots having fun today like this somewhere.
@@vancegilbert1958you sir, have been an inspiration to me with your Mosquito! I have built the Howard Boys 40” Mosquito and we are currently working through trimming her. 👍🏻
I thought that was a Boeing Clipper at first, but anyway a 4 engine rubber powered aircraft is a massive committment from start to finish! But ALL these aircraft are top echelon. Sublime video.
Serious rewarding flights for some serious building talent. As much as I enjoy the RC side of flight this is definitely still belongs in the ‘NFL’ of Model Aviation . Thanks for sharing this!
Wonderful video!!!🤗😉 Amazing flying boat😃, many different designs and cool models...🤓 The Cauldron C460 was out!!!😃🤗 Short flight but big emotion!!!😢😁😉 I JUST ❤❤❤ HER!!!!! The Focke Wulf "Möwe" from Vance Gilbert, it was just a pure delight to watch her fly again so smoooooothly.....🤗🤗🤗 So many beautiful aircraft.....😊 And to add the "cherries at the top of the cake", as always in your video: AN OUTSTANDING PHOTOGRAPHY, WONDERFUL MUSIC AND A VERY PROFESSIONNAL VIDEO EDITING SKILLS!!!!🎥🎼🎬🤓😉 HAT OFF!!! 🎩🎩🎩👍😉😎
Everything I see of The Nats, indeed and especially The Flying Aces impresses on me a deep sense of cooperation and shared experience. It seems as though the competitive aspect of things is entirely subordinate to the shared joy of flight.. Indeed this is much more like a display than part of a contest, which I think is key to the unparalleled high standard we see from you guys converging on New York. These are all beautiful, I'm glad to see that blue racer with the long nose on the screen, v beautiful plane. Thank you Tom, and many thanks to all concerned! 🌟👍
Beautiful, just beautiful 👌 An avid fan over here in the U.K and watch all your videos but that was just sublime. I was actually born in Linköping, Sweden the hometown of SAAB aircraft so the Tunnan really was the icing on the cake for me 😃👍
The flying boat is spectacular! Electric is such a game changer for planes like that. Unfortunate that it sounds like a bunch of angry hornets. EDF in a jet is great but it's just the wrong sound for a multi-engine radial ship. Otherwise great video as usual Tom thanks for sharing! (edit - I spoke too soon I think the Mosquito is my favorite in this video!)
WOW WOW and WOW AGAIN. four-motor flying boat WOW............... triplane - you have to be 'on your best game' to acheive something like that WOW and wow and wow ...............
Outstanding channel. And whoever designed the biplane at 2.26 should be checked out by the CIA. The current UK government have put people in prison for less. (Really liked it.)
You know what I"d do... I'd contact a local Warbird owner..P51, corsair, etc, and ask him to do a flyby while you and your buddys are out there ! And don't tell them.
There was a P-40, American Dream that was finishing up testing on Thursday. He took off on Friday morning. I helped him put the cowling back on the plane. Some of the participants went out to the flight line to watch him take off.
Oh, to have been there. Just sublime.
Thanks Tom.

In the vastness of the YT universe, this channel simply soars.
There is no greater joy in modeling than free flight, especially rubber.
Tom's videos, for me, are the antidote for the stresses of life. Just a wonderful moment to reflect. . . .
70 years later, you discover that it never left you....
I didn’t know I needed this until I watched it. Thanks Tom.

Those brief moments of free flight, the wonder of flying, hand made feathers, gliding cross the calm sky, make you smile, make you happy.
Beautiful, Tom! I need more Geneseo sunsets in my life.
Thx again for ur beautiful photos!
@@maxfliart My pleasure, Tom!
That Coronado's yellow wings and silver fuselage/hull catching the sun while banking in a turn ... 🥰👍
Magical atmosphere!
Ah! The Mossie! So. Very. Lovely.
thank you
May I ask is the Mossie the Midkiff design? It’s lovely as are all of the ones in this video. Thanks for posting it.

"serious building talent" THAT Triplane .............. nuff said
Turbine jet pilot....tried this a few weeks ago....wow how wonderful and how different.....
It's nice to see these well trimmed models flying like airplanes instead of porpoises.
Great to see that modelflying doe not mean to spend thousands of dollars. All you need is a good rubber ... 😘 Greatings from germany , Wolfgang
Thanks for sharing the joy and beauty of freeflight
A wonderful session of aermodeling in its purest form 😊

Your Caudron Racer, if I'm not mistaken, flew very nicely. Graceful plane, graceful flight. Awesome job. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves. 👍
Airplane ASMR. Nice relaxing fun.

Great video.
Thank you for sharing this. Thank you for your modeling gift. I wish I would have made it to Geneseo for the Nats.

The unmitigated beauty of it all!
Wonderful! Nice flights!
Great video, very calming and enjoyable to watch 👍🇬🇧
Beautiful
That mosquito is an amazing flyer! 👏👏
Always wonderful. The only question I have is how many winds did that DC 3 need?

First time I made it out there. I did not participate I went because it was on my way home to Ohio. I enjoy the people and the planes.

Is everything here rubber powered? What about the 4 engine clipper? How do you drive those 4 engines? No room behind for much rubber?
Nearly everything is rubber. The 4 engine Consolidated Coronado is electric.
There at 2:26,, I know it is downright cute, 😊 but other than that, can't pin a name on it.
Putting out the word...will have it for u.
The model is Curt Haskell's Whimsey, scaled slightly to qualify for embryo and built by Thayer Syme.
