I spent a few nights at 62/32 back in the late 90’s as a Buff. Good friend was assigned 32 Truck. Great house, great men. Stay safe and stay strong brothers..
Mack then Seagrave were the only two manufacturers to meet or exceed the spec. As the experiment went to ALF ,FERRARA AND THE BAG OF OTHERS, I'M sure that it make maintenance easier with SEAGRAVE since they already have parts for them. This unit is a real experience of what Seagrave can do...ENJOY TRUCK 32
Awesome! It really was about time that the FDNY started to break itself away from Ferraras. So, so, SO many issues with those trucks. So much extended time out of service for too many of them. The Rescues and Ladder 25 are two immediate examples I can think of right off the top of my head.
Just my opinion but I think the Seagrave's are the best looking fire trucks/engines. It's nice to see the FDNY switching back to them. I hope the Seagraves will perform in service as good as they look. I'm interested to hear what you think about them Skyler Fire?
Iam sorry, But that truck is BAD-ASSSS freaking beautiful, yes the Ferrera rear mounts FDNY purchased were/ are very nice looking, but the new Seagraves knocked it out the Ballpark big time. 😃🙌🏼👍🔥🚨🚒
Finally, the first new Seagrave Rearmounts since 2006. The horn does sound pretty odd, but I'll get used to it. The Rig itself looks HOT! Thank Seagrave for ALWAYS sticking with the FDNY, before and after 9/11. I believe all of the Ladder Companies with 2011 Ferraras will get these first, such as 3, 8, 11, (this one), 38, 113, 123, 156, 165, 173 will get these first. Then the 2012-13s. But...... I AM going to miss those old 2001-02 Seagrave Rigs.
L151 would probably be behind L173 as they both became Seagrave rearmounts in 2002 and then Ferraras a decade later. There are rumors at least one of them may become a tiller again.
There are ❤️Seagrave❤️ trucks…. The end! All others are, let’s say, fire apparatus, but nothing more! Thank god contracts are back with the manufacture from Clintonville, Wisconsin 👌💪👍
Beautiful Rig!👏 Here in Michigan there aren't many FD's that run Seagraves. Detroit FD was a huge customer of Seagrave for decades but then switched to Pierce and Now Spartan/Smeal apparatus. Pierce and Spartan are Nice looking rigs but Not as Nice as Seagraves!
Question I noticed it seems all ladder trucks under FDNY does not have the capability to spray water with a water monitor. Only tower ladder trucks. Why do they leave the monitors off the ladder trucks? Many other Departments have monitors attach to ladders trucks and tiller trucks. I just find it strange FDNY leaves them off. Thanks.
@@SkylerFireagreed, that's why it's rare for FDNY use stick for water and it's rare to catch it on video but when it does happens everyone notice it right of way.
When a fire department is big enough, they can afford to specialize. By not having a pre-piped waterway and monitor on the aerial ladder, they can set it down on the edge of a building or poke the tip through a window without fear of damaging the waterway or monitor. Boston, Chicago and other big cities also operate aerial ladders without waterways.

Super nice rig.. Seagraves is what I learned to drive an engine in

It’s a lot better let’s say that. For sure they needed them back! The only truck that looks like a real fire truck!
@@SkylerFire okay, cool. It's always great to hear your insight on stuff like this.
Should see bullhead city Arizona tower ladders. Nice.

@@briansturm6618 We shall see.
Ladder 169 as well runs a 2011 Ferrara as it's frontline.
169 getting a brand new tiller@@forcechief
Awesome video!! Very beautiful siren and horn!
Finally the real Q
Brand spanking new,Skyler, and Seagrave does it once again.Ladder 32 should last about 20-years.
Nice video Skyler 👍🚒
AMAZING

Awesome video
Thanks!
Ladder 154 now has a 2022 Seagrave as well, that has also replaced a 2011 Ferrara.
What were the manufacturers of the previous rear mount aerials for FFNY
Ferrara

Iconic
Doesn't FDNY also use segraves for reserves
2006 was the last year.
Why was there no Seagrave ladder for a long time?
Cheapest bid
You think they would have LED lighting the ladder bay to make things easier...
ok

Raises the ladder for number 1 and they use tower ladders for that not sticks

When I was there in March I saw this it was parked inside fleet services
17 years? That long? Seemed like 2010 when Ferraras started
Last Seagrave Ladder was 2006
Ferrara is faster but they both look the same .
YEAH, MY PIERCE ALSO.
The just spent a ton of money on that.
Well to have everything the same easier for parts to be changed
Sorry, but all the rest are pretenders...Seagraves rule at FDNY!

Beautiful rig
It sure is!
Awesome 🏃♂️ 👌 👏 👍 Upgrade Skyler Fire For The Fdny Ladder 🪜32
