What an epic experience for everyone. It's just a great showcase. Those are the best memories to experience . I always feel passionate with pride when I see these bows around the world that are so healthy and grow to such incredible size because I see the potential of what I see in my backyard of CA, the home and birth of the Rainbow Trout.

As a Chilean angler that have fished Patagonia (from Yelcho in the north to Lago Cisnes, 1.5 thousand kilometers south) I am proud of the fishing quality, scene beauty and first rate operations.

Ya its very expensive, i ty at some of the fly fishing shows in NJ and i no almost all the tyers except some from over seas , and i remember this one guide won the TRIP to Patagonia in a raffle they had. He went the year before to the same place he won the raffle for, so another tyer there won a trip to New Zealand, so they wound up trading each other $9000 for the trip to Patagonia and this was 10 years ago ,i can only imagine what it is now.

You should do that, many lodges in Patagonia are seeking American & Canadian guides for October thru to April. Magic Waters has several American guides. Good luck in deciding

Looks incredible. Can you self guide in Patagonia or do you have to hire a guide or stay at a lodge to fish? Thanks

legally you don't need a guide but on the big rivers you definitely want someone who knows the water

Great Adventure! Have a QUESTION: I own a Martin 81 Automatic Model Fly Fishing Reel. What Fly line and leader would you recommend I use for fishing very calm, very clear saltwater beach (Destin, FL) in late Spring-Early Summer to catch Pompano swimming just a few yards out from the water's edge?
Should I use a Sinking Fly Line or a Floating Fly Line? What Fly Line Weight and specifics would you recommend?
The Martin 81 Automatic Fly Fishing Reel is in excellent condition and was originally my Dad's Fly Fishing Reel he used for Top Water Large Mouth Bass Fishing on the Lakes & Rivers of Alabama back in the 1960s. I figure if the Reel can handle Large Mouth Bass, it can easily handle Saltwater Pompano.

Has Mark never fished from a raft before? You cast to the bank almost every fly float you go on

What I can not understand is you catch a beautiful Trout then go have lunch eating bbq. Why do you never keep a fish and eat it?

I'm from Argentina, I grew up flyfishing my be loved Patagonia and the Chile's side too. I'm so sad to see what human being have done to that amazing paradise! All this commercial flyfishing tour DESTROYED mother nature, overstress the natural resources. I hope some day Mother Nature pushing the human being cruelty!
