- Stop #3 of the Florida road trip takes us to my favorite mountain bike trail in the state... Grapefruit Trails are packed full of huge jumps and drops that can challenge any rider! It's been almost a year since I've been and there are a couple features that me and my buddy Ken (@K Five MTB) have been checking out tentatively for quite some time... Hopefully today is the day we conquer our fears and send it!
Follow along next week as I head to the last stop of the road trip ... Santos Mountain Bike Park and hit some features that have always scared me...

Having finally seen this place in person I have to give props to anyone hitting those features. Video does not do them justice. They are much bigger and more intimidating in person.
Definitely some of the bigger features Florida has to offer

Props to Ken for going for it. He looks really smooth and comfortable on all the other jump lines, but it looked like he didn’t push all the way through the lip. As an older rider , I don’t heal up quite as fast as you younger guys, so I’m more hesitant to try the riskier jumps. But not conquering those fears just eat me up inside and I’m sure Ken probably feels the same way.
Oh I’m sure he has been dreaming of going back and smashing it! You are right he was just nervous I think and didn’t react properly
Thanks Lonnie😃 I did not push or spring!!! It was the end of the day and I had run up to #7 about 10 times prior. I was going regardless on that attempt. And my legs and arms just didn’t cooperate 😃😃😃

I love your videos , I have hit the whole Crowley line on my full suspension ... it’s not necessarily about speed when hitting those jumps ... I spent 3 hours bailing thinking I was going too slow . You don’t have to go in there super fast ... just be smooth . I learned that every time I thought I was going slow was actually the perfect speed . Just wanted to help you guys out 👍🏻 love the videos

10:46 Cleanest and cool I've ever seen lol; also I hit this park today and sent part of the proline and the line opposite of crowley and think I saw Kfivemtb on near six pack (similar bike)
K five is always out there having a good time! The bail at the end left me speechless! I wish I could bail that gracefully lol
Watching in slow motion, notice Ken cased the landing a smidge on the jump leading in, and then he pushed off for the jump 7 a little too late and didn't push off the lip but the air instead... he's got this!

Definitely had enough speed...The issue is panicking and bailing instead of preloading up the lip and yanking those bars to get a good pop.

Love your videos , you were so close! You had more than enough speed to clear 7 , for some reason your rear suspension kicked you forward and made your front wheel come down .

He just needed to spring and not dive his nose down I think... but he will smash it next time hopefully! Going faster wouldnt hurt too I'm sure.
I was searching for info on these trails and your video popped right up. Nice job and great video. We are heading to the area from Asheville for spring break. Do you think that Zach would do better riding his MTB or DJ on the Grapefruit Trails?
The trance will definitely be great for everything except the crowley dirt jump line... he would want the dirt jumper for that. Lots of big drops where he is gonna want some suspension I think. Yall are gonna have a blast!

Hell ya dude!
He totally had the speed but you can see he tried to soak up the Lip instead of at least keeping his arms and legs strong against the force of the lip (better yet push into it) and tried to treat it like the shorter mellow racer jumps before it. Watch how to jump with no fear by the loam ranger.
