    1050 or 1053 belt (2006 a3 1.9tdi 8p) as lots of online car parts suppliers come up with 1050 as spec with some others 1053. Would a 1050 put too much of a strain on the tensioner and bearings if the existing belt is a 1053?

    I don't see the gap/space at the bottom that you mentioned, in order to inspect the lower pulley. Did you have to take off under tray?

    Looks easy but took me about 35 min of trying to get the new belt on. I’m glad my forearms aren’t too big.
    Looks easy, but does take practice

    I’m about to buy a A3 1.6 FSI 102 HP. Is it a timing belt or chain?

    Yo my tensioner don't sit straight on the belt???... any ideas most likely tensioner needs replacing its least 2 to 3 ml off

    What happens to the car if this belt is not there ?

    • @TimWilliamsHD
      @TimWilliamsHD  7 років тому

      if a drive belt is not there, a number of things would not happen... the air condition pump would not get spun, the alternator would not spin meaning a new battery everyday because it wouldn't be getting charged whilst engine is running...
      and maybe more deepening on what car it is....

    Whats the difference between the drive belt and timing belt? I have a 2014 SQ5 with a supercharger

    • @TimWilliamsHD
      @TimWilliamsHD  6 років тому +2

      drive belt only spins the alternator and air con compressor normally..the timing belt is a more serious belt which controls the timing of the engine valves etc...

    • @djrx2
      @djrx2 6 років тому

      TW Randomz Thanks mate. So is the timing belt the same as a the supercharger belt Thanks.

      Not mechanic so will share my experiences and never a DIY as I wouldn’t want to be responsible for someone getting hurt or breaking their car…
