I think Daniil Simkin and Ivan Vasiliev are some of my favorite. I recently saw Daniil in swan lake and he was stunning never wobbled once got 8 turns almost everytime and his toures to arabesque 👌and i think nobody jumps like Ivan
Why am I commenting and liking it 20 hours before the premiere? Whatever comes, it will be presented in a funny, informative, exciting, and extremely charming way. I'm writing this as someone who knows nothing about ballet but learns something about it every time🌹🌹🌹
Completely agree about danseurs needing appreciation: I grew up when Baryshnikov and Nureyev were active, and would go so far as to say danseur appreciation got a real boost from them - I had a real crush on "Mischa", and was able to watch him live several times. It was exciting. And I caught Nureyev live in Vienna, in what was likely one of his last performances, as Siegfried in "Swan Lake". He couldn't really do much compared to what he had once been able to, but the magnetism was as strong as ever.
I also got a kind of crush on Baryshnikov, though, I never saw him live and I'm too "late born" for this, so I would just rather depend on his recordings...I really wish to see any "big dancer" live, as so far, I never had to chance and would stuck with only recordings from bigger companies...whether London, Paris or Moscow...it must make so a difference...
I’m so happy you included Leonid Sarafanov. He’s my favorite, he’s a lefty and his lines are beautiful. He’s married to Olesya and they have four children. 9:04
I am terrible….because I’m consumed with jealousy! 🤭 I wish that I could have a second life to immerse myself in theatre! I would see wonderful ballets, see as many art studios as I boulders! Then I would go to many classical concerts! I would want to go back in time & see Leonard Cohen, & see as many cello concerts by Hauser as possible! Plus another couple hundred ideas come to mind! 😂
I was in London a couple of weeks ago and I watched Nela & Vadim do Don Quixote. I'm still recovering. They did the coolest curtain call by jumping out from behind the curtain. So fun! My favourite danseur right now is probably Herman Cornejo, ABT principal - an absolute marvel, great technique, beautiful artistry and acting chops!
I completelly understand, what you mean with "still recovering".🤣 I have seen Vadim & Nela too in October and I am still in deep awe. ❤ After the performance I met the two of them outside the stage door, where they were patiently signing autographs and taking photos with fans. How kind and modest they are!
Thankyou ladies. We are so lucky in London at the moment to have Vadim, Marcellino and a bunch of great dancers. Vadim is a fantastic actor as well as technician. His Mayerling last year was harrowing.
Hello, ladies. Greetings from England. Ah, VaDream! The Royal has a particularly good roster of male dancers right now, but I think consensus would be that Vadim leads them all. To your ‘effortless’ I would add ‘elegance’, which he has in spades, plus he seems to be a thoroughly nice guy. As well as Marcelino Sambe, I would also mention William Bracewell, another very elegant dancer. Watch him in Dances at a Gathering and you will see what I mean.
I honestly wouldn't be able to rank the RoH dancers atm, they're all so different and fabulous in their own ways ! They also approach the same roles in very varied manners, which gives such a diversity of readings of characters. They have some slightly less "high profile" principals (I hate calling them that) like Ryoichi Hirano or Alexander Campbell, who do amazing work too. Steven McRae's Mayerling was just *chef's kiss*.
I cannot begin to tell you how I appreciate your channel! You are educating me about what I’ve loved since I first saw Romeo and Juliet in the theater when I was 12. I live in a rural area where the arts aren’t very much appreciated. And I’m a musician and love theater and ballet so you give me so much! Blessings!
Thank you for Kimin Kim! His movements are mesmerizing in person, he truly defies gravity. Also, you really can't hear his landings. I would compare his movement to that of a leopard.
i didnt expect danceur to be pronounced this way in english!! i love seeing how french loanwords transform once integrating english/another language + it make me gain new but familiar vocabulary that is oddly specific to one subject haha thank u for ur videos, they r so informative to me as someone who wants to try and get into new ballets, but has a hard time doing so being introduced to the field of dance with the people who work in it helps me appreciate ballet even if i dont necessarily sit down to listen/watch a new one
Haha we have a *problem* with pronunciation 😂. But we’re happy we could help u in ur ballet appreciation journey regardless! Thanks so much for watchinggg ✨😁😁
I'm based in NY, so I'm always looking forward to learn more about the dancers outside NY and outside US. Hopefully once I have enough money I'll travel to see them perform live! But my very biased list: (ONLY listing the dancers whom I've seen in multiple live performances): 1. Daniil Simkin. Obviously!!! There's Gravity. And then, there's Daniil Simkin, who says "F*&^ Gravity! Watch Me Fly!!!" (He was guest principal at ABT so I got the opportunity to see him in live performance) If one day scientist discovered that he is secretly a mutant and his superpower is to manipulate local gravity I wouldn't be surprised at all! 2. Aran Bell. Amaze amaze amaze! Literally if he's performing I've going, and I'm gonna try to buy the best ticket possible and that is how good he is. This summer I saw him in Giselle. I used to say if I'm Giselle I'd seek revenge and kill Albrecht. But when Aran Bell is Albrecht, I was like "yeah understandable, totally understandable, I'd forgive him too"... 3. Chun Wai Chan (Okay I'm probably biased as he's the first and only Chinese principal in NYCB. He is good!) This fall I saw his premiere in Apollo as a little birthday gift for myself. And now I'm 100% convinced that Apollo is a Chinese guy! 4. Jake Roxander (yeah he's corp at ABT but I think based on the performances I've seen, I wonder if ABT will make an exception and skip the soloist level to promote him directly to Principal). This season I saw him in Etudes. And I was like HOW, literally HOW are you not soloist yet? His turns, so freaking clean and effortless yet powerful as if his supporting leg is nailed to the ground. And his jump, is another one that jumps like there's no gravity. And this Fall season he debuted Puck in Dream. How can a man be both cute and strong and weightless? Like HOW???
I've seen Daniil dance twice, and when he did Ali from Le Corsaire, the entire theatre gasped at his entrance. It was hypnotic and he had multiple standing ovations, and that was when he was cast with Natalia Osipova and Ivan Vasiliev! I really think he is a master class in technique. He is a short king and there is nothing like his dancing out there.
Very nice selection! I grew up watching Zakharova and Bolle dancing together at La Scala, and Sarafanov is my all time favourite dancer. Sadly, I believe he has retired from Mikhaolovskij not long ago, but not so sure. I'd like to mention one of my favourite dancers, Friedemann Vogel. He is the most elegant, artistic, clean, light and expressive dancer at once. His dancing is absolutely effortless, and he manages to support the ballerina in the back while at the same time being equivalent to her, in other words he doesn't disappear behind her. His interpretations of neoclassical story-ballets like Onegin or Lady of the Camellias is one of the most impressive art performances I've ever witnessed.
Oh no. This was on an hour early our time! Must remember next week….5pm. I love ‘Vadream. ‘ with Nela. Kim is great and new to me but missed Carlos! Did you all celebrate world ballet day? Some fabulous streaming. Wonderful to see the different classes and rehearsals. Congrats on 9k subscribers too
Same thing that happened to you with Kimin Kim and the Corsaire variation happened to me with Farukh Ruzimatov many years ago. Loved your favorites. They’re all amazing ! 🤩
Wow. I am old! I clicked on this video expecting to hear you talk about Baryshnikov and Nureyev, lol. I didn’t know any of the danseurs that you spoke of today. But I have to say of the ones that you highlighted I kind of lean towards Kimin Kim, too. Of the clips that you showed, he seems to exude so much joy in every passage and leap, and it’s just so enjoyable to watch him. I know I’m five months behind the times here, but I would like to see you give a kind of history of ballet dancers and show where ballet was in the 50s and 60s and where it has evovled into today. Kind of like the way gymnastics has evolved from the 50s till now or ice-skating. Surely something similar has happened in ballet?
I think you have covered my current favourites in your video already. I'd also add Joe Sissens from RB, beautiful dancer, great partnering, amazing in contemporary stuff too! Some other, retired, favourites: Federico Bonelli (danseur noble extraordinaire), Ed Watson (if McGregor's choreography was a person), Baryshnikov (I mean, duh), and I have a really soft spot for Gary Avis' partnering, for example in the rose adage and in the Elite Syncopations waltz with Darcey (and Drosselmeyer, of course).
I’d add Ivan Vasiliev. I love his cheekiness in Don Quixote. And boy, can he jump. I think it was him that started the extreme backend they do at the end of some variations now. Definitely not good for the back though. The stage partnership of Osipova ( oh wow) and Vasiliev - match made in heaven. And, yes, I do know they were an item for a while 🩰🩰🩰🩰🩰👵🇦🇺
So many great make dancer at this time. I agree with your choices. Roberto Bollé is magnifico. There are a few dancers I really like in bolshoi at the moment that are incredible: artemy belyakov and Igor stvirko (their production of Spartacus was unbelievable) and one of my favorites touring with different companies is also Danil Simkin.
Thank you for turning the spotlight on male ballet dancers! 🥰 I agree with your choice, especially, Kimin Kim!! Also, my favorite are Semyon Chundin and a NYCB principal, Chun Wai Chan.
my favourite is marcus morelli from the australian ballet, he just got promoted to principal (yayyy i was waiting for that) and he always manages to capture my attention wherever hes on stage, he portrays characters so well
Awesome content, as usual. I appreciate the quality of this channel including the production value of your videos, not just the content. Also, you are charming so that makes the information you share even more consumable. Thanks, ballerinas!
So pleased I found your channel. I was going to do videos explaining ballet to those who are eager to learn, but once I found you, why bother? You do it so perfectly
I liked the bonus picks better than the main three bc Marcelino and Kimin are two of my personal favorites too! Lol. I wish you girls had included Carlos Acosta even tho he’s older now, but he was such a star with the Royal Ballet. I also like Ivan Vasiliev very much. I think Polunin could’ve been included but he’s so problematic and has too many projects going on outside of dancing that I don’t blame you girls for not featuring him. Plz do a historical version for both the men and the women next!! I want to see you girls talk about Misha and Nureyev, I like your way of describing dancers.
Thanks, this was inspiring. My favorite of this group in Muntagirov. Oddly, Sarafanov wasn't on my radar at all, but I should start watching him. Another danseur I really like is Semyon Chudin.
I've always enjoyed ballet, but always from the background. Never learned anything about it. But your channel is amazing!! You are so articulate and help explain things so that even an uneducated simpleton like me can really appreciate ballet. ❤️
Thanks for a great post. if you do a second one, please consider including some of the amazing American danseurs out there like Jeffrey Cirio (Boston Ballet), Aran Bell (ABT) or Anthony Huxley (NYCB). We have a lot to be proud of!
Would love to add François Alu to this! He was an Opera de Paris Etoile, and just left to pursue his career independently. He mixes ballet, all sorts of dance with humor on stage, he jumps like gravity has no effect on him and turns effortlessly. First time seeing him on stage I litteraly was shocked 😳
As I understand, this video is about current dansuers, with which I completely agree with y’all list. But, we have to mention the legendary, musical, romantic Mikhail Baryshnikov! He is in his own category. He definitely doesn’t have the same jumping skills as the new dansuers BUT HIS MUSICALITY AND FLIRTING IS AMAZING TO WATCH
❤❤❤❤you girls,my daughter & I truly enjoy your educational, fun & most informative videos all about ballets. THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge about ballets.period.sending you girls oodles of ❤❤❤❤ & BIG HUG from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Are there danseurs and ballerina's in history that are regarded as legends? Sort of like the Beethoven/mozart/Tchaikovsky of dance? I'd love to see a video about that!
Another name I haven't seen in here is Vladislav Lantratov. He's a principal at the Bolshoi, other than technical abilities I love the stage presence he has and how he emotes
Yes, Sarafanov is married to Novikova and they have 4 kids, the most recent was born in 2022. Someone said on a Russian forum that "God gave Olesya a body for having children"
Another interesting and fun video....thank you!! BTW those silhouettes for your bonus danceurs were quite recognisable. I'm jolly glad I decided not to preempt the big reveal and detract from others enjoyment.....looking forward to next weeks output already❤
YES KIMIN KIM!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤ I was going to have *issues* if you didn’t mention him 😂 I was super lucky and saw him in La Bayadère and he was SPECTACULAR!!! Mind blowing, fabulous, amazing… all the words lol There’s also a danseur from Kazakhstan, Adam Zhanbaktiyar (? I follow him on Insta so not entirely certain his name) who just is stupendous
Speaking as a male who has taken ballet since the later part of high school (after mastering Yoga and Pilates too quickly)--on behalf of all of us, I have to commend you ladies for giving the boys the much-needed due we all deserve. Ballet is the hardest of all sports. And it's oh-so often considered a "girl's sport". I still practice the NYCB workout every day. Yes--I am a danseur. Once again... thanks... and Merde...
I agree with this list absolutely, although as others said I would also put Carlos Acosta and obviously Daniil Simkin there too. Someone I also really enjoy to watch is Gergely Leblanc. He may not be this famous, he dances at the Hungarian State Opera, but i find his style powerful and delightful at the same time. :)
Late with my comment, I really like your great breakdown ! Good choices. Though, I also have a like of more character dancers than only the principals. I'm also fascinated of such like Derek Rencher, being more impressive with villains with stage presence (;
There's someone with ABT in a class video they shared this week...see a purple unitard in the last 15 minutes. But then as he was doing his turns a la second I realize a woman behind him was also phenomenal but didn't stand out with her yellow top lol.
Oops, not yellow top (although all are awesome)...meant the girl behind him after 1 hr 20. Sort of a red/orange top. ua-cam.com/video/Ncdzomi0rC4/v-deo.html
Your selection, with truly instructive reasons, was simply outstanding! Since several comment posters have mentioned Reece Clarke of the Royal Ballet - and sing it was world Ballet Day on the 1st Nov (my inner ballet nerd came out in full flow!) - here's a video for your delectation: ua-cam.com/video/UKVa87Xh_Tk/v-deo.html Go to 4.02.30 - it's thirty minutes live recording od Reece Clarke and Natalia Osipova rehearsing for the current Don Quixote ROH production. That's all I say here - you gotta watch it yourselves! Enjoy!
Vadim M., Kimen Kim, M. Barishnekov, Nicholas Tsiskaridze , Marcellino Sambe, Steven Macaully and Frederico Bonelli are my top choices..Impossible to pick 5! Roberto Bolle never caught my eye..his legs bothered me..too heavy. Tsiskaridze is at least as large as Bolle, isn't he?
I moved to Italy from the United States in 2019 and let me tell you that the worship of this man (Roberto Bolle) is a real here ! I would say the only other dancer that has achieved his level of fame here is Carla Fracci. When she died a couple of years ago she was given a funeral on par with like an ex-President/queen/ pope. I have a feeling that he will be revered and much the same way, hopefully not for many many years though. Interestingly enough, I feel like Alessandra Ferri ended up being more popular overall in the United States than here even though this is where she was from. So yeah, expect a funeral fit for a dead president when Mr. Bolle’s time comes. He is an absolute cultural icon here.
"Roberto Bolle is universally acknowledged as the biggest ballet star." Ha! Take that Denis Rodkin & Ivan Vasiliev! Joking aside, I had three favorite principals from the Bolshoi - two of whom (Alexander Volchkov and Ruslan Skvortsov) are no longer principals, which leaves just Mikhail Lobukhin, and I'm nervous he'll be retired out soon. Besides these three, my favorite principal is Leonid Sarafanov, formerly of the Mariinsky. He's my favorite "happy" danseur, able to really shine in the lighter roles, whereas the others are better suited to more serious roles, in my opinion.
A bonus danseur/ ballerino for me would be Reece Clarke. I just absolutely adore how elegant he is and I can't wait to see him live in The Nutcracker!!!!!!
I love you guys. One thing....if you chose a 'danseur' who made dancing looked laboured, well I guess they wouldn't be on the list as that wouldn't be a quality that would lead them to the top of the list....any list of great male ballet dancers.
Eden: does her final closing announcements and slaying it like always Jordan: the camera is focused on me so lets model it out....oh Im killing it.....and now let's give them a solf eye flutter.....annndddddd queen wave time. I absolutely love watching y'all's videos. I do have a question, with it being Nutcracker season are y'all doing The Nutcracker and if so what part are y'all dancing. I got party scene and Drosselmeyer understudy (I got to play in Drosselmeyer's cape when I filled in during rehearsals and it was so much fun).
Sergey Polunin!!!! I've been a balletomane for 74 years I've seen all the greats and how ballet has evolved especially for men thanks to Nureyev. Nothing beats the Russian school and then the British school with its perfect technique.
Yes, impressive, But honestly Who would spend hours looking at ballet if it was only some guys jumping around.? It is the pretty and elegant girls like you two who make the concept enjoyable. In fact you captivate half an hour of my time every Saturday, and you are not even dancing --- Yet.
Youre welcome. I am a Bournoville fan, and he choreographed a lot of very fine male parts (because he was a very good dancer himself and because he wanted to show off) but without ballerinas I am not staying. :)@@curzonproduct
Have you not seen Sergei Polunim dance? Maybe you didn't include him because of this political beliefs? Saturday 17 December Vadim is leading an open class for all levels at Dance works London. In class 14+ on line all ages. GMT 1.00 - 2.30 pm.
Polunin seemed like a show pony to me sometimes. Glad he's not getting attention outside of Russia. Osipova made the right choice breaking up with his dumb, sorry ass.
Жаль что сейчас не танцует Николай Цискаридзе. И посмотрите выступление майй Плисецкой когда ей было 62.нет русских артистов их очень много. Здесь мало кто произвел впечатление
I don't understand when you say the best ever while you ignore a lot about ballerinas and dancers of the past in the world ? Are you americano centrists ?
@@sedekiman824 you literally forget to describe her artistism and ability to portray heroins and express feelings . And none of the things you mentioned are minuses .
Dear ladies , you are great but I would like to ask you and show some respect by correctly pronouncing names . Novikova. I could hardly recognize your variant
I was waiting for Kimin Kim to be on this list. If he wasn't I would kill. He is one of the most passionate male dancers I have ever watched!
His "Corsaire"' Ali variation is superb.
ditto
I would also like to add Carlos Acosta to this list. He is such a legendary dancer and choreographer and director.
Aaaahhh yessss he’s so amazing 🤩🤩
Is he still performing ballet?
@@tatya222002 Yeah, he’s posted his performances with Marianela Nunez not too long ago
I think Daniil Simkin and Ivan Vasiliev are some of my favorite. I recently saw Daniil in swan lake and he was stunning never wobbled once got 8 turns almost everytime and his toures to arabesque 👌and i think nobody jumps like Ivan
Absolutely fantastic additions!! Thank u ✨🤩
Danii simkins pirouettes are out of this world
Why am I commenting and liking it 20 hours before the premiere? Whatever comes, it will be presented in a funny, informative, exciting, and extremely charming way. I'm writing this as someone who knows nothing about ballet but learns something about it every time🌹🌹🌹
Yah! Love this 💗 First comment, thank you so much. Glad to have you here! You can never to be too early lol

Misha
So many good dancers!!
I would like to add Steven McRae and James Whiteside 💕
Yesss thanks for ur additions 👍🏻✨🙌🏻🤩
I’m so happy you included Leonid Sarafanov. He’s my favorite, he’s a lefty and his lines are beautiful. He’s married to Olesya and they have four children. 9:04
He’s one of the best for sure 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Agreed! Leonid is one of my all-time favorites :)
A shout out for Matthew Ball and Reece Clarke at the Royal. Both superb dancers and actors
YESSS 👍🏻🤩
Steven McCrae too
Sergei Polunin
Edward Watson
Recognising how fortunate I am to have seen so many of these dancers on stage at the royal opera house 🥰
YOU ARE MORE THAN FORTUNATE 🤩🤩
I am terrible….because I’m consumed with jealousy! 🤭
I wish that I could have a second life to immerse myself in theatre!
I would see wonderful ballets, see as many art studios as I boulders!
Then I would go to many classical concerts!
I would want to go back in time & see Leonard Cohen, & see as many cello concerts by Hauser as possible!
Plus another couple hundred ideas come to mind! 😂
Even though the Paris Opera style is not my favorite, I think Paul Marque and Germain Louvet are absolutely wonderful
Saw Roberto and Marianela in Manon last weekend and just ❤❤❤

I'm glad that we attended "La Fille Mal gardée" with Marcelino and Francesca Hayward. Ocober 2016.
Hello, ladies. Greetings from England. Ah, VaDream! The Royal has a particularly good roster of male dancers right now, but I think consensus would be that Vadim leads them all. Ed Watson is a formidable dramatic dancer!.
Marcelino is my absolute fave!!! And he grew up in my country (Portugal), so makes me so proud. Plus Steven McRae obvi :)
And, yes, I do know they were an item for a while 🩰🩰🩰🩰🩰👵🇦🇺
And the other Vassiliev, Vladimir, way back in the 70s and 80s.
Oh,,yes. All the Vasiliev. Boy, could they dance. 🩰🩰🩰🩰👵🇦🇺
Sarafanov is really something else. Back in 2010 he did a production of Giselle with Osipova at the Mariinsky that is beyond this world beautiful.
Omg that one was so beautiful 🤩
So many great make dancer at this time. I agree with your choices. Roberto Bollé is magnifico. There are a few dancers I really like in bolshoi at the moment that are incredible: artemy belyakov and Igor stvirko (their production of Spartacus was unbelievable) and one of my favorites touring with different companies is also Danil Simkin.
Thanks for sharing ur favorites! They are all fantastic 🙌🏻🙌🏻
yessss artemy!
Being Italian I have to correct on Roberto Surname: it's Bolle not bollé no accent on the last letter😅
Tsvirko
I love this channel so much, it entertains me so much.
Awww thank uuuu 🥹😁
@@balletreign ofcc. i constantly find myself trying to find y'alls videos, because they are so informative, and fun to watch. 😆😊😋
I played the piano several years for a local ballet company…
Just learned enough to love 💕 it for life !
Love thisssss piano is awesome!! 🤩
Thank you for turning the spotlight on male ballet dancers! 🥰 I agree with your choice, especially, Kimin Kim!! Also, my favorite are Semyon Chundin and a NYCB principal, Chun Wai Chan.
Both of them are fabulous too!! Thanks for adding to the list
#danseurappreciation ✨✨
Chudin
Wonderful video…I love Kimin Kim. He is incredible in whatever he does.
Semyon Chudin and Artem Ovcharenko are both excellent and both are principals at the Bolshoi. I agree with your 5, as well!
Thanks for mentioning these!! ✨✨✨
my favourite is marcus morelli from the australian ballet, he just got promoted to principal (yayyy i was waiting for that) and he always manages to capture my attention wherever hes on stage, he portrays characters so well
Awesome content, as usual. I appreciate the quality of this channel including the production value of your videos, not just the content. Also, you are charming so that makes the information you share even more consumable. Thanks, ballerinas!
Aww thanks for that! Thank you for watching today 💕✨
My word for Vadim is "boyish". It's his face--so youthful.
So pleased I found your channel. I was going to do videos explaining ballet to those who are eager to learn, but once I found you, why bother? You do it so perfectly
Aww!! Thanks so much 😅😅 welcome, we’re glad to have u as a part of the channel 💕✨
That was very cute moment with your fangirling on Kim
Hehehe
*blushblushblush* ☺️☺️
I liked the bonus picks better than the main three bc Marcelino and Kimin are two of my personal favorites too! Lol. I wish you girls had included Carlos Acosta even tho he’s older now, but he was such a star with the Royal Ballet. I also like Ivan Vasiliev very much. I think Polunin could’ve been included but he’s so problematic and has too many projects going on outside of dancing that I don’t blame you girls for not featuring him. Plz do a historical version for both the men and the women next!! I want to see you girls talk about Misha and Nureyev, I like your way of describing dancers.
I am sorry what dies it even mean : he is so problematic . How is it connected to be a ballet genius ?
Thanks, this was inspiring. My favorite of this group in Muntagirov. Oddly, Sarafanov wasn't on my radar at all, but I should start watching him. Another danseur I really like is Semyon Chudin.
Def recommend watching sarafanov!! Thanks for adding to the list 🤩
What is so obvious here is the overwhelming love for Carlos Acosta !!!
Of today. I wondered if Carlos Acosta would make the cut, but he retired.
We miss him so much!! He was a phenomenal dancer. But he’s still making an impact thru teaching and choreographing… his don q is bomb 🤩🤩
........... and being Artistic Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet (formerly Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet)
I've always enjoyed ballet, but always from the background. Never learned anything about it. But your channel is amazing!! You are so articulate and help explain things so that even an uneducated simpleton like me can really appreciate ballet. ❤️
My top 3 always and forever and only:
Mikhail Baryshnikov,
Steven McRae,
Vadim Muntigirov.
Then all others.....🎯 ✌️ ☮️
Vadim Muntagirov YES .
Muntagirov
Thanks for a great post. if you do a second one, please consider including some of the amazing American danseurs out there like Jeffrey Cirio (Boston Ballet), Aran Bell (ABT) or Anthony Huxley (NYCB). We have a lot to be proud of!
Absolutely!! So many fabulous American danseurs ✨✨✨
Absolutely.
Simply the greatest Dancer of all time
❤❤❤❤you girls,my daughter & I truly enjoy your educational, fun & most informative videos all about ballets. THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge about ballets.period.sending you girls oodles of ❤❤❤❤ & BIG HUG from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Heyyy Australia! 🇦🇺🇺🇸 thanks for watching and supporting the channel! Glad both of u enjoy the Ballet Nerd content. More to comeeee✨✨
I'd like to add Cesar Corrales. My word for him is "passionate."
Bonus 3 for me: Carlos Acosta❤
Totally
Absolutelyyyyy 💕
Sergei Polunin is one of the greats!
Okay this is the last drop for me. I want to take dancing class. I am a 27 man.
Oh, no! 🫢 You missed William Bracewell, he is a principal dancer at the Royal Ballet! He is my favorite. One of my main favorites. 🩰 🏆💖
Also one of my all time favorites is Mikhail Baryshnikov. A legend
A legend as a gymnast. Not a dancer.
bal@@aggelinairiniaggelaki2720 Mikhail Baryshnikov--a mere gymnast? Are you F-ing serious?
The man made men in ballet what it is.
@@Dane_Youssef Truly serious. Wach him carefully.
Are there danseurs and ballerina's in history that are regarded as legends? Sort of like the Beethoven/mozart/Tchaikovsky of dance? I'd love to see a video about that!
Definitely 👍🏻 we would love to make a part 3 on that!
This would be such a great topic, I'd love to hear about the greats that actually made a lasting mark in ballet history
Erik Bruhn and Rudolf Nureyev
and Baryshnikov of course...
For men, in the 20th century, there's Nijinksi, Bruhn, Nureyev and Baryshnikov. Four very different dancers, all legends in their own right.
They are unmistakable 😎😎 glad u enjoyed this one, can’t wait for next week!! 💕
Love this list! Thank you! Would love to know more! ❤
Kimin Kim
Speaking as a male who has taken ballet since the later part of high school (after mastering Yoga and Pilates too quickly)--on behalf of all of us, I have to commend you ladies for giving the boys the much-needed due we all deserve. Ballet is the hardest of all sports. And it's oh-so often considered a "girl's sport". I still practice the NYCB workout every day. Yes--I am a danseur.
Once again... thanks... and Merde...
Yall are incredible and deserve so much more credit and appreciation for what y’all do. Thank you! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Late with my comment, I really like your great breakdown ! Good choices. Though, I also have a like of more character dancers than only the principals. I'm also fascinated of such like Derek Rencher, being more impressive with villains with stage presence (;
Glad u enjoyed this one! Thanks for sharing ur fave ✨
Character dancers are often Principals in their own right,
or have been Principals when younger.
❤ you girlies. Appreciate every video.
Aw, thank you so much for your kind words! So glad to have you here 🥰
DANSEURS ARE SO PRETTY!! 🤩😆
*fangirling noises*
@@balletreign
I was literally fangirling the whole time!! 😆😆
Haha 😂
They do not turn me on, but there you have it.
I wonder if you are referring to Jake Roxander?
@@kathychenyinggao4519 Yes! Thanks!
Your selection, with truly instructive reasons, was simply outstanding!
Since several comment posters have mentioned Reece Clarke of the Royal Ballet - and sing it was world Ballet Day on the 1st Nov (my inner ballet nerd came out in full flow!) - here's a video for your delectation:
ua-cam.com/video/UKVa87Xh_Tk/v-deo.html
Go to 4.02.30 - it's thirty minutes live recording od Reece Clarke and Natalia Osipova rehearsing for the current Don Quixote ROH production.
That's all I say here - you gotta watch it yourselves! Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing that! WBD was fantastic this year 😁😁
Vadim M., Kimen Kim, M.
Love Vadim and Kimin Kim!
thanks for the intro to danseurs! i think i'll check out Kim to start with
That’s a great place to start! 🤩🤩
I would add Steven McRae to this list. A personal favourite are also Shale Wagman and Paul Marque.
Absolutelyyyy
"Roberto Bolle is universally acknowledged as the biggest ballet star."
Ha!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your fave danseurs! Sarafanov def suits the brighter roles well 😁😁
Roberto Bolle is perfection. 🥰🥰🥰
💯💯💯
A bonus danseur/ ballerino for me would be Reece Clarke. I just absolutely adore how elegant he is and I can't wait to see him live in The Nutcracker!!!!!!
Yes!! You’re so lucky to get to watch him 🤩🤩
Here are two video ideas,
Watching a ballet with the audience
Reviewing ballet videogames etc, Barbie Swan Lake
Thanks for the ideas! 👍🏻👍🏻
I love you guys. One thing....if you chose a 'danseur' who made dancing looked laboured, well I guess they wouldn't be on the list as that wouldn't be a quality that would lead them to the top of the list....any list of great male ballet dancers.
Eden: does her final closing announcements and slaying it like always
Jordan: the camera is focused on me so lets model it out....oh Im killing it.....and now let's give them a solf eye flutter.....annndddddd queen wave time.
ROTFL 🤣🤣 that was surprising accurate lol 😂 Congrats on Nutcracker casting! Wishing u and the company much luck ✨💕
David Hallberg, Marcelo Gomes...
You forgot William Bracewell (Royal Ballet) and Danish pretty boy.
Two more amazing dancers 🤩🤩
Sergey Polunin!!!! I've been a balletomane for 74 years I've seen all the greats and how ballet has evolved especially for men thanks to Nureyev. Nothing beats the Russian school and then the British school with its perfect technique.
Ivan Vasiliev and Gomez?
Kimin Kim is the best
I clicked on this because I wanted to watch you both go SQUEEEEEEE over them.
lol u got what u came for 😅😅
what about steven macraeeeeee
Hi, I hope it's okay to ask, could you please add a warning for the flashing images in your intro please? Thank you so much!
Yes, impressive,
But honestly
Who would spend hours looking at ballet if it was only some guys jumping around.?
It is the pretty and elegant girls like you two who make the concept enjoyable.
In fact you captivate half an hour of my time every Saturday, and you are not even dancing --- Yet.
Well, I would, for starters!! There are some amazing pieces for just male dancers
Haha you’re too sweet 😂 hopefully we could offer some insight into what makes these danseurs so inspiring to watch! 🤩🤩
Of course, as always@@balletreign
Youre welcome. I am a Bournoville fan, and he choreographed a lot of very fine male parts (because he was a very good dancer himself and because he wanted to show off) but without ballerinas I am not staying. :)@@curzonproduct
@@curzonproduct I don't know how well-known it is, but I absolutely adore Aunis, by Jacques Garnier
i would add Mathieu Ganio
and probably Jon Axel Fransson and Andreas Kaas
Daniel Lee has a good boy friend LOL
wheres Simkin😝
Have you not seen Sergei Polunim dance? Maybe you didn't include him because of this political beliefs?
Saturday 17 December Vadim is leading an open class for all levels at Dance works London. In class 14+ on line all ages. GMT 1.00 - 2.30 pm.
Sergei and Ivan vasliev ❤
Polunin seemed like a show pony to me sometimes. Glad he's not getting attention outside of Russia. Osipova made the right choice breaking up with his dumb, sorry ass.
He is an amazing danseur too! ✨👍🏻
