Very useful! Would love to see more tutorials on how you approach synth, creating sounds with it and how it inspires your song writing process.

We live in an amazing time to be a musician. With all the plugins available today there's no more excuse for bad guitar sounds or drums. But indeed people have no idea how much time and effort goes into creating a song and working towards a nice end product. Nice vid, thanks.

It's kind of crazy how little actually playing guitar has to do with my process as well. Thanks for sharing your process!

Right?! I used to only play guitar and felt so limited and also got impatient waiting for other people to send me their parts. Feels very freeing to be self sufficient enough to produce almost all elements of a song to keep the writing flow.

Maybe show us how you would write vertically , just going through some of the processes and plugins and how you work with em? Helpful video, thanks.

Hey! I’ll keep this in mind for a future video to go more in depth with that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes it can be time consuming and frustrating at times, but worth it I promise! :)

i often write drum tracks first and jam along to them on guitar, but this is a good perspective on how you write music

That’s a great way to do it too! Sometimes my drummer sends me full songs on drums and I actually find it pretty easy to pump out riffs to a bunch of drums that are already written. I still struggle programming drums but slowly getting better. :)

I really like what you said about writing vertically!!! Too often I write out the entire guitar part or bass part horizontally and don't leave a lot of room to change things up. Writing vertically makes much more sense to be able to add new parts and spice things up. Thank you!!!!

Thanks for watching!! :) Yeah it’s always good to check yourself by not getting too far ahead before adding more elements

4:36 this is a very good tip, thank u! Even when you're doing your recreational activity, your brain tryes to come with a musical solution to the puzzle you're building in the subconscious. Sometimes good idea can strike "out of nowhere", so it's good to write it down using technique called mumbling to a dictaphone app. haha Works every time!
Bonus: Usually I try to write in a structure which has meaning even if you listen just to rithm guitars alone, but lately I found a way to link two very different parts of the song through background melody ... and in this moment I was like ..
    Eureka!!
    Now the puzzle makes sense!
