In May on my last AF business class flight back from Bordeaux and Cap Ferret, one of the stewards recommended a wine to go with a main. The other steward came over a recommended another. They ended up giving me both to compare, followed by Armagnac. This after champagne as an aperitif. I was poured off of the plane in SFO. Business class on AF is the only way to fly over the Atlantic.
What an amazing review… Absolutely love AF for the little details (like the little souvenir de vol), everything is so delicate and elegant not bling bling and i would say their cabin service is pretty consistent, also one of the few legacy carriers in Europe who still offer complimentary drinks/snacks on their medium/short haul services in economy. Bravo!!!
OMG, just went from Paris to LA on March 23, 2024. Never flew Air France before. I fly Delta and usually Delta One on long trips [cross country or transatlantic. ] The experience in Business class was incredible. Great WIFI, staff service was impeccable, and the food was exceptional. While the wine list was not extensive, there were a few selections that were well paired with the meals. My husband and I were comfortable falling asleep in our little cabins. The movie and music selections were fine. We liked the outdoor ‘plane‘ camera. We were able to record our flight into LAX from the TV screen. Incredible sight. So glad that Delta is a partner with Air France so I received the mileage. I look forward to flying Air France again. Thank you for your review…..I wish I read it before this flight just to have some extra insight. However, I subscribed so I will stay current!
I did a few AF Business Class runs this year, all on 777-200 and 777-300. Mixed feelings really. On one hand, service is always top notch, crews are well trained. Food is good to excellent, French know all about food for sure. The hard product on those planes disappointed me - the interiors are old, tired, worn out and have clearly seen better days. You may be fortunate to hit one of their newly upgraded 777-300ERs or an A350. But in any case - the seats are fully lie-flat and their J product will do what it needs to do - will get you where you need to be well taken care of and well rested. Later this year I am looking forward to trying BA on a cross-pond route, their 777 with new J suites.
Understated elegance , in style and service that the french master admirably . So the wi fi and espresso machine had eloped somewhere . C’etait pas importante ! Sitting in a beautifully designed cabin surpasses those niggles , that all airlines have occasionally . Your videos are in a special class of their own, always informative , full of energy . A pleasure to watch.. choice of music is always excellent as it matches the product. Bravo TheDesignAir !
You get the music just right for each video! From the mesmerizing tracks on the Ethiopian Airlines video to the subtle tracks on this one. Great trip report. Air France does look like really nice and relaxing!
I'll be flying for the first time ever in Business Class this December. Excited beyond words :) I'll be flying with Air France. I'll be flying Lisbon - Paris - Mexico City. The Paris - Mexico City leg is on the 4-class Air France 777-300 ER. I've selected seat 3A. Hope that's a good seat? Great video btw,
AF has a lot of availability for business class award flights. Just booked tickets to Rome next year with Amex points. Could not get the new airbus A350 though. 300ER and 787-10
I flew in the 777-300 economy class cabin from LAX - CDG. Service was sad. The flight attendants had the tiniest cups of water you can imagine (on my return on United, we got a .5 litre bottle of water on boarding, with meals, and on request). Air France economy meals were tiny and unsatisfying. And the careless flight attendant banged my leg with the drink cart. I had been so excited to be flying on Air France, but United Airlines had better meals, better service, and a more pleasant experience overall. And those tiny water cups lead to dehydration!
Great review! May i ask when the flight left CDG? We're on a 10:30 a.m. flight leaving CDG for Montreal in this aircraft (in Biz as well) and are hoping to avoid a brunch flight (e.g. eggs and pancakes). Cheers!
Hmmm. The lounge is OK, but really nothing special. There are lounges with more flair - Istanbul’s business class lounge is unique and very well attended by lots of staff and chefs. Dubai Terminal 3 is enormous but has much nicer dining facilities and made-to-order menus. The Mourjan Lounge in Doha is also very nice, but it gets crowded. For me, this lounge is OK.
Great video and nice that you show us the product other than always yourself (even though you are a good looking guy kkkk) My experience long haul with A.F. as so far been excellent. I’ve only been using them on my regular route for the past couple of years and so far they’ve been everything a business class product should be apart from a couple of non A.F. Lounges that they use. As my final destination is LHR/London I have to transfer at CDG but have never found this a problem. Even though B.A. will fly me direct, A.F. are now my first choice.
Airline loyalty is so important, and if you find an airline you like, you'll often fly one stop rather than direct. And thanks for the comments. Doing these reports is a learning curve and i follow the feedback from people like yourself. People want to watch the cabins, not my old mug.
@@thedesignairvideo There’s something to consider re airline loyalty. Though it obviously has advantages it also pays to keep watching the competition. On my regular long haul 11.5 hours (well not that regular,, only once maybe twice each year) I used to use B.A. and collected points. However I found that switching to A.F./KLM (meaning a layover) there was a substantial discount on price so the B.A. points became virtually irrelevant. I don’t find the layover at all a problem because I can sleep (usually 6/7 hours)on the major part of the journey, travelling in economy would be a different story of course.
Have watched so many flight reviews by others before, have flown business class on many carriers but never AF, must try it some day Liked your review, no frivolous talk, to the point and glad for that. You never did say anything about the bed, guess you were working and did not use it
superb AF meal servie. Outstanding! Thnx. PLUS you are such a handsome guy.......So here beauty gets along with beauty. Your wife or husband can be proud of you.
@@thedesignairvideo Oh, well I always fly the 777 to and from Paris and the 777-200 and 300 series were all updated a few years back to the suites with closed doors. Maybe this is the one they use to LA.
In a world where Emirates, Qatar, and Singapore ply the skies, no European or American businees class, let alone first class, is worth the money. Or the name.
I completely agree with you flying across atlantic from UK i tend to say all american carriers makes british airways looks better and BA’s first class is not much different from their refurbished Business class.
Shepherds look after sheep and that is why a shepherds pie is always made with lamb. So calling something made with duck a shepherds pie is totally misleading. I think someone should point this out to the Air France catering team.
@@thedesignairvideo In French, it's "Hachis parmentier". Can be made with any kind of meat or fish, or even vegetables. as long as you specify it (if you don't, then it is supposed to be beef). really enjoyed travelling with you, without packing a bag, passing through an airport, or experiencing jet lag ..
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope you'll join me on another adventure soon!

I would so LOVE to fly on Air France in either their Business Class or, (dare I hope) La Premiere. It would be the trip of a life time.
Hope you get to experience it one day!

I am looking forward to flying AF in the new business class seat in May out of JFK. Cannot wait, my first flight on AF.
when was this flight? and do they served you hot trowel before arrival and always show the galley snack
It was AF72 leaving around 1pm. Will do!

That's a shame, neither are as good. You can always check the layout with a site like expertflyer, which i use all the time!
lovely new lounge! BC catering pretty (much better then KLM)

It was good, pretty strong actually but not from one of the more well known international houses.

That is not a typical AF configuration for a 777. It looks more like the configuration for the 787-9 or 10.
Afraid it is, although the newer seats are being rolled out now which might cause you the confusion?
@@thedesignairvideo Oh, well I always fly the 777 to and from Paris and the 777-200 and 300 series were all updated a few years back to the suites with closed doors. Maybe this is the one they use to LA.

CD airport sucks for getting from one terminal to another. The buses only go one way.
Air France?
