You are the Mozart of wire hangers...wish we had Congers in the Gulf of Mexico so I could join in the fun. Best I can do is throw myself overboard and have someone catch me, ha ha.

Thanks! Didn't want to use a wire which is too weak... I'm gonna give it a try and use this boom for pike fishing and by inserting the short end (where the weight is attached) through an old float i'll get a fledger-boom!

Conger are actually good eating. Cut into 2 - 3lb sections, rub with salt and a squeeze of lemon overnight. Rub with butter, wrap in foil and bake for up to an hour depending on size. Check the flesh is teasing from the bone to make sure its cooked and yummy. They get them in the creels up here. They also cook well filleted in bechamel with tomatoes, shallots and a splash of white wine

I'm right handed but have always reeled in with my left. It makes it so that you don't have to switch hands after casting out, and plus, when you set the hook, you are setting the hook with your more powerful side (right side).

A Cod tutorial would be great...if we could find any Cod !! Shore fishing for them this year seems awful, and I reckon they have probably gone through by now.Still a few in the boats, but very patchy.Lots of blanks.I even tried Eastbourne from "The Wall" where I used to get them.Zippo! But keep watching though,we might get lucky.

Had 2 rods snapped here a 20lb class rod and a 20-30lb snapped with HUGE congers on in kayak, my mate winched in Blue sharks over 60lb on that same outfit no probs. Next time I'm using 30-50lb class. All the congers in the past I had in the kayak there have only been up to 30lb and the tackle handled them ok was not expecting them to get in the area of 60lb upwards but then again this is the manacles its really something else.

A Wilson Flyer. About the cheapest good boat you can get.17 feet long.I have a 60 Yamaha 4-stroke on mine. Will do 30 mph 2 up ,flat calm etc. You can put a 70 but not really a need. I won't be changing it any time soon. Last year we got the biggest shark in Britain with it.Check our film out on the site.
