A friend that works in EA had this to say:
"All decent ideas and concepts for skins were shot down. Broken updates were partly intentional in that everyone was very aware of the bugs but were not allowed to do anything about them. All they cared about was milking BF2 and some higher ups seemed to have a vendetta against players (especially those who bought attention to bugs, shady practices etc) for pressuring them to remove loot crates. It's sad because working on a star wars game was a dream come true, I'm just disappointed that the dream turned out to be a nightmare fuelled by greed."
If you went to work at an EA studio that's not Maxis or Respawn then you should re-evaluate all of your life choices until that point. No self-respecting person would stay at or join post-2010 era EA

@@emper0r14 bioware hasn't been good in half a decade at least. Andromeda was trash, don't even get me started on Anthem. Last good game they made was dragon age inquisition and that was roughly 6 years ago. Since then, many of the developers who worked on their good games have left. As much as I want dragon age 4, ik it most likely won't be good and could have me wishing it wasn't even made. That's how little faith I have in Bioware now.

Sorry but this doesn’t make sense. The bugs part might be true and shows EA are super a**holes. However how could they “Milk the game” and “turn down skin concepts”? When you consider that the only monetization the game had was the skins. Anyone who actually plays the game knows this. Milking the game would be putting out many mediocre skins very fast and nerfing credit-gain (Like they did by eliminating the “daily crate”, however they someone in the team must have been smart enough to add 1 daily challenge and making 1 challenge be “play for 10 minutes”)

This isn't that hard to figure out. EA wanted a quick cash grab that would please Disney, and they did that. I bet battlefront 3 will be just as much of a greedy game.

I felt like an idiot after i spent 20 bucks on the celebration edition 2 weeks before they announced support was ending i'm never giving EA my money like that again.
I got it while it was on sale a few months ago.
There still aren't any star wars battles you can accurately remake in bf2. We just don't have the right characters or maps to recreate our favorite scenes correctly.

Paying for characters and weapons in a game focused on mostly pvp? Paying for maps in a game where matchmaking is its lifeforce? I know you wish for more updates and I agree there should've been more updates but we need to be careful what we wish for, too many times has games ruined the experience by choosing to use these methods of monetization. I.E. Titanfall and Call of Duty.

You’re either really young or you weren’t a gamer before 2010, because EA used to produce some of the BEST games on the market. There’s a reason they grew to be the powerhouse company they did. It’s only when they decided that profits were THE most important aspect in gaming, that they started their downfall. Greed is what undid them. EA is a shell of its former self, and I highly doubt they’ll EVER be able to recover from it, but to say they “shouldn’t have started”, is to ignore all the quality games they made in the mid-2000’s. Just because you’re really young doesn’t mean you aren’t allowed to play older, quality games (maybe it is, young folks CANNOT deal with old graphics, I get that). Go back and play the REAL EA games and you’ll se what I’m talking about. EA is absolute garbage now, but it wasn’t always that way.
I agree and disagree because they are good at making games but they suck at following through.

I thought about that and I would like to see a class like reinforcements about animals and they change depending on the map like the beast on the battle of Geonosis (don’t remember his name) could be in Geonosis, though I like the concept of this idea only but I don’t want it to be in the game.
I’ve always wanted a pure melee class that could damage sabers even when they are blocking

Dude, SAME! He uses all four arms all the time but we only get to use them in a couple abilities. I wish there was a fourth one that worked similar to dooku's middle ability where your attack speed goes up but your attack damage is lessened maybe and lasts about ten seconds or something?

richard duncan I think I’ve figured out why that happens, I had an Xbox one that had that happen a bit, but then I got an Xbox one x like 2 months ago and haven’t had that issue at all, I think it’s just some hardware bug due to how good the machine can run the game

I’ve had this game since launch and ppl think I’m dumb or didn’t believe me when I would say that this game compared to its predecessor doesn’t feel like Star Wars , or that it was made by actual sw fans. I mean cmon they hype us up for new content then release like one hero and a map .. from launch they focused on the sequel trilogy more (sequels were more relevant =more money) I remember I got purple star cards for kylo from crates and I would hardly play as him.. and at the end we got 2 bowling balls instead of Ashoka or ventress or padme.. how???

Disney kind of forced them to release all the sequel content. Sadly that was out of their control. Nonetheless we still should’ve had Anakin, Obi-wan, Grievous, and Count Dooku at launch. It’s sad that we didn’t considering the clone wars season probably would’ve brought us heroes like Ahsoka, Ventress etc. if they just had our main prequel heroes in the game already.
Heroes aside, they also cut customization for the standard classes that was in the previous game.
Everyone should just flood EA to make them keep supporting battlefront 🤷♀️ we deserve to get what they said they would give us.

It’s amazing how almost no one noticed that like you said.. they sold celebration as a way to instantly get all future skins and then they pull the plug without delivering a single one for free after that. That’s a kick-starter level scam.. wow.. but not surprised given its EA.
Edit: I want a refund. After how this game launched and all the other shenanigans Disney has pulled off with Star Wars, I had no intention of getting this game and stayed away for 2 years. Then it was on sale for like.. $8 and I figured.. why not? They removed the loot box system and added more hero’s and content since launch so I went ahead and got it. If I am being honest.. I was surprised that they kept adding anything at all after removing the loot boxes.. figured they’d say “f*#@ it!”’after they couldn’t make extra money anymore and not do anything as a way to get back at us for having to remove it. But yeah.. I got celebration because I was already really behind and didn’t want to have to grind forever to get caught up.

Well, if Squadrons crashes and burns due to a likewise completely fucked microtransaction system (you know they'll try it) it might well happen.
Then again, EA higher ups are notoriously spiteful (just ask Visceral Games) and I would not put it past them that they axed BF2 and any future BF game just to spite Disney and the fans for denying them their lootbox cash printer.

Honestly, the mandalorian has nothing to do with the clone wars, the galactic civil war, or the sequel trilogy. It would be dumb to make a character that had nothing to do with the battles that take place between these factions
I think it's time someone came forward! I-uh I've been playing on his heap along time, way before the war (controversy) we refit and rebuilt ships (game update requests). Best in the galaxy. Then came the empire (E.A) and the engineers became scrapers, the workers just started getting worked. We all know the truth, were just to afraid to say it.

It’s a shame that all of this had to happen. First the game was in a bad state, then the game rose up and became much more than it was at launch.
Now it’s going down again, it’s really sad seeing such a great game fall like this.

The description of Celebration Edition on their website says that you don't get ANY skins released after December. Dice made all of the skins either free or locked behind challenges anyway, but even if they were locked behind credits Celebration Edition players would still need to grind them out.
I think that was updated as when they first introduced it and marketed it they said all future content updates would be free to celebration owners.

Really good that someone speaks out on this. It’s completely true. Imagine if they did a sort of Overwatch 2- style dlc, where they implement a bunch of new heroes, maps, reinforcements etc from the old republic era into the multiplayer for free, but then created a story for which you had to pay, also set in the old republic with a few exclusive skins you could earn there. I would’ve bought it, and I think a shit load of people too.

Wow. Just got the game about 3-4 weeks ago. Whilst I am having a blast playing this game simply because I love Star Wars, along with how gorgeous the game looks and how playing with the heroes and villains feels, I can also feel your guys’ pain. This game could’ve been fleshed out for many more years to come if people weren’t so greedy for money. Maybe I should just be grateful that we got a game like this.

Great video as always, but I think that part of the skin problem is also due to the fact that all new skins need to be approved and/or canonised by Lucasfilm first, which means DICE can't just pump out skins at the same rate as other developers.
