I truly don’t understand why this channel doesn’t have more subscribers, let alone already be at/passed 1 million subscribers. Not only do we get to see where many late famous people are laid to rest, but the facts behind each one are so interesting. You don’t even have to know any of them to enjoy the videos. I always have my notifications on and I get so excited when a new one is posted. One of my favorite channels❤️

you would think so - in the old days Disney would distance itself from someone who went to prison and died in a flophouse, but in 2020 who gives a good goddamn? he made the studio a lot of money, earned an Oscar while under contract there ...show him a little respect!

Though I don't recall him (Bobby Driscoll) it's sad that to this day he's in Potter's Field out on Rikers Island. So much talent but not enough belief to continue a career. Disney is also famous for destroying kids and making it impossible to move on with their careers.

I'm a nurse, a very small child when we got the polio vaccine on a sugar cube, I believe it was every Sunday after church for 3 weeks. Don't stress over it, it was anti polio . We are so lucky we got that. I am waiting for the covid -19 virus there are researchers working around the clock to find it. Too many people have died from it. 2020 has been a waste to me so far.

    • @jamesclendon4811
      @jamesclendon4811 3 роки тому +1

The first widespread vaccination campaign in the US was with the Salk vaccine in 1955--that was injected with a needle. The one swallowed on the sugar cube was the Sabin vaccine, first widely administered in 1961. I vaguely remember getting both. Years later my mother talked about how she and others in the 40's and 50's dreaded the arrival of summer, because that's apparently when the disease was most prevalent--as Mr Dark said it was a huge concern for parents. I had a cousin who was stricken with polio around that time--she spent months or years in a hospital and the rest of her life in a wheelchair, able to use only one hand, and neither leg.

Love watching these videos.. I mean, who doesn’t love to walk around cemeteries. Fascinates me, though my wife thinks both are depressing.
What is sad is the number of people who died young... Makes you think about your own life, and those important to you.
I wish everyone here a long and happy life.

what a tragic story that of Bobby Driscoll! And I literally adored Karen Black, great actress, also in horror movies. One can't forget her in Trilogy of Terror and Burnt Offerings (both by the great Dan Curtis: please do a Dark Shadows Special!). I was lucky enough, when there was still My Space, to exchange a few messages with her and she was a wonderful woman, a real legend. Thanks for having shown her resting place ♥

I find the way we express our recognition of life and death interesting and enlightening. Thank you and Please keep the videos coming.
I was wondering if you ever heard of spring grove cemetery in Cincinnati? As large as Spring Grove is and the number of entertainer that hail from Cincy (Doris Day. Tyrone Powers. I have very strong memories of getting the polio vaccine first at age 6 in kindergarten standing in line. First the shot which was a circle w/ 4 small dots.
I had that scar for years until it faded in my early 60's.
Some weeks later I renember being given a small dosage of a pink fluid in a transparent small squeeze tube.
Now I know it was to prevent polio. Ty Dr. JONAS SALK. 🙏 RIP ✨️.

Today was a bad day mentally. I was reminded once more how no income as an author makes our financial situation worse. I cannot pay the bills. Christmas is coming up and everyone is telling us about their wonderful plans while patting us on the back. Seeing this video brightened my night a little. The calm voice, production, editing, history lessons, everything made me realize that I could still try again. Thank you, Mr. Dark. You make this depressed author smile.

I'm a Disney fan and I knew the heartbreaking story of Bobby Driscoll. I recently rewatched 'The Song Of the South' and I have no time for the decision of Disney to remove it from their library of movies because people who have never seen the movie think it's about slavery, it's actually set AFTER the Civil War. Bobby Driscoll and James Baskett, who was wonderful as Uncle Remus both died tragically young and to pretend their best performances in a really great movie never existed is an insult to both actors.
Trump would call Polio a hoax and recommend taking Frontline flea treatment as a cure.

My Uncle, Sam Buffington was an actor under contract with Warner Bros back in the 50's. He committed suicide in 1960.
I only met him once as we lived on the east coast, back in 1958 when he visited.
I'd be curious to see his grave at Forest Lawn.
