T's Tantan Ueno is actually inside the station, so you do have to pay the fare to get in, and then find the restaurant. But man is it worth it. Just don't go in circles for an hour like I did.
The best one is the T's Tantan inside Tokyo Station. Their Gyozas are incredible, you would think that all the stores have the same gyozas but some of them have steamed gyozas and they are not that good.
PLANT BASED TOKYO CLOSED - There was a sign in August 2024 saying: "Due to the expiration of our contract, we will be closing our store on Sunday, August 25th. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our customers who visited our store and showed their patronage. Thank you very much. Food Hall Blast! Tokyo - All the staff"
We are in Tokyo now and totally enjoying your recommendations!! Spot on with taste for vegetarians and vegans! Thank you so much! Do you have recommendations for Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima?
Wow this would have been so useful when I came in 2019. Even though I did a tonne of research, and had every veg/friendly restaurant programmed in my phone, it was still tough. And meal times became stressful and to be honest I think it spoiled my tokyo experience. Ironically the best veg ramen I had i just happened to be walking past, and it looked like your normal crowded ramen shop. But i noticed on the board it had a gluten free option. Seeing that as an interesting sign, when I delved further they had 2 or 3 vegetarian and vegan options. Unfortunately it no longer is open! btw I found Ts very handy so I bought alot of their noodle packs they came very handy while i was travelling.
Hey Tokyo Cheapo, I know this isn’t related to this video but for the JR buses which are included with the JR Pass, is there a website that shows all the JR bus routes? Having difficulty trying to find one.

Same haha! I was so confused at where it is.
T's Tantan really is worth it - there's also one inside Ikebukuro station

Found some new options because of your video. Thanks!
Thank you. As a vegan Tokyo is a bit of a challenge which has gotten better over the years.

Great video, guys. Any chance you can do a video highlighting Gluten Free eating in Tokyo? Or have you done so already and I maybe missed it?
Great suggestion! Keep an eye out for a guide from us
When I look at happy cow, there are 100+ vegan only places in Tokyo. Am I missing something about how hard it is to get vegan food in Tokyo?
Thank you!
I think plant based tokyo is closed :(
An Indian guy not recommending a single Indian restaurant which has tonnes of vegetarian options is interesting
Nevermind
I didn't know Dora the Explorer lived in Tokyo.. see kids you learn something new everyday ✌
