I was there room 105 in vfa-113 from Dec 12 to Jan 18 Barracks 5 and then from Feb 12 to Mar 16 Room 202 bks 6. Those upstairs single man rooms were nice. Now I’d just go air bnb.
I was stationed there from '79-'83 with VA-97. My barracks was in a group called The Towers. We didn't have fridges in the rooms though, otherwise it looked about the same. Yeah, it got hot in the summer. Anyway, thanks for the tour, it brought back some memories.
Vietnam era the Lemoore barracks housed sailors in cubicles - 4 men to a cube, 1 locker per man, 2 bunk beds, a writing desk, and a chair. Amenities were a TV room, a soda machine and a gedunk machine. Crowded and noisy as hell.
@@bryanbaluyot6722 been here 2 years and just about to leave now but if you have a car lemoore is not bad at all. Tiger tea house was MY. SPOT. Lol but lemoore is good to reach other places like Yosemite, Vegas, etc. you’ll be fine here:)
@@GroomingYordles I see, ya I’m here now. I’m from LA, so I was able to visit family over the holidays. I definitely love the freedom here compared to a school.
22 years ago I lived there. VFA-25. Balls to 8 barracks watch is the worst. No key card back then. They had these stupid key fob things that always broke.
I’m getting there sometime in July from HM school.. we still can’t cook 😭😭 dang. Thats disappointing, i thought they’d treat us more life adults and give us our own separate rooms in the barracks, but two to a space.
Aleigha Gibson there is a stove and oven downstairs on the first deck that can be used by anyone they just tell us to clean up after ourselves. There’s also grills outside if you like to BBQ
lol Just Moved here in Lemoore NAS from San Diego in July too, stayed in the Navy Lodge for about 2 days till we got to live in the Housing. Cool Street Names/Hot Weather
Lorrie Causey wasn’t 14/15 the newest barracks at that time? I remember my room # 302 or 303 I think lol. Had a view of the restricted barracks and back of the chow hall. I was there 89-93.
@@berrisfueller8205 I think that's right; when I got there in September of 1985 Barracks 14/15 looked really new. I was in Room 303, from where looking out the window you could see the parking lot and the farm fields in the distance....
Wow, I lived in the barracks of VFA-125 in 1981-84. There was no coded key of course and no fridge as well. We had inspections every Friday morning and had to field day our rooms every Thursday. You guys must put in some serious work to pass inspections if they are still required, lol. Nice to see the old barracks I did lots of partying in just about all the barracks as well as the base houses.
That ain't barracks it's a hotel room!! I was stationed at Lemoore in 71-73 no fridge n microwave 1 bathroom per floor not per room that's like living in a hotel room you guys got it made in today's Navy. I worked at the naval hospital
IDK if you are here or not, but Lemoore has a very bad reputation. The base itself is literally in the middle of absolutely nowhere. You will NEED to go out and explore other nearby cities and areas to appreciate this place. I am no longer in the Navy, but am a civilian who works here and hear complaints from Sailors all the time. I hope you plan on buying a car from someone PCSing so you can get around. You will enjoy your time here much more if you get off base and find some fun things to do. Lemoore itself is mostly agriculture and farms, you will need to drive to get around, there is no way around that. I've never been in the barracks here, but I remember my time as a junior Sailor living in the barracks. Shit was great lol, times were easy, and we spent our paychecks on alcohol lol.
@@redgringrumboldt8983 I respectfully disagree that NAS Lemoore has a very bad reputation; a lot of folks I knew in the navy retired there or in nearby Hanford. You are correct of course that you'll need a vehicle to get out and roam the countryside. Sailors complain all the time, nothing new there, my career took me to Memphis, Meridian, San Diego, Oxnard, Charleston and Jacksonville, and of course there were always sailors who complained about it; I guess one has to find what best suits you. I kinda liked that Lemoore was "off the beaten path"....:).
@@clarencecausey7473 From the Sailors on base, and especially in base housing, they give this place a bad reputation. Before I moved here, all I ever heard were bad things about Lemoore. But seeing it for myself, it is not nearly as bad as people say it is. I absolutely love it here.
@@redgringrumboldt8983 I agree; I had never heard of Lemoore before I got there, and being from a small farm in SC helped me adapt to it's agricultural/rural environment. Me and some navy buddies used to hang out at "The Armona Club" not far from the base. I've been gone from Lemoore since 1989 but I would go back in a heart beat....
Man I lived in these barracks for years!
Video brought back a ton of memories...thanks for it!
I was in va195 Dambusters

to anybody wondering, this is his actual command barracks. Pretty sure cnattu don't allow us to keep routers in our rooms since it's only a short stay
Shmeat Warrior 2 to 4 years is a short stay!!!!
Mos?
Can a civilian get a special pass to visit the base? It would be cool to go back there and look around....
You’ll need an escort. Someone who already has access to base
Yoo bro do E5/E4 have different barracks or do they get there own room ? Where do the marines stay ?
