The 250,000 mile maintenance on my wife's 2012 Yukon has basically been replace every hose and coupling, the power steering pump, the water pump, motor mounts, alternator, reservoir tank and several other goodies. Still runs like a top though! Trans was replaced at 155k and serviced at 220k.
Hey chase what you should do is put a transmission oil cooler tru cool 44 it will save your transmission. I put one on my Tahoe temp never go over 180 in the summer.
Speaking of transmissions my 17 Silverado has no dipstick, it’s a sealed transmission so to check the fluid , the dealership has to check it. Had to go to Kentucky from Mobile and wanted to check the fluid level and no dice. My check engine light came on and I hooked my tuner up and gave a code for something going on in it and I’m thinking the level is low but no telling but I’m a out of town truck driver and leaving it at a dealership for a few days is tough to do when it’s the only vehicle you have and you have to drive at night to my job on Monday and don’t get back till Saturday mornings to just be able to see if you need some fluid or not. Just saying this because I wondered how your 18 was. Almost bought a 22 and a half Silverado cause of no dfm on it but my payment would go from 750 to 1200 a month and I’m not paying that lol, that’s thanks to my ex wife being late on our suv payment sometimes . Ps Lauren shouldn’t be shy we all know her now and wouldn’t expect anything less than her taking over the channel lol. You need to get a 2 door Tahoe or Yukon on the channel
_My 6l80 tc went out on my sierra 1500 at 202k I was lucky to get that far but I bought it at 160k so idk how it was driven. A built tc is going back in and going to rebuild everything else while its out, but the 6l80 has been great._
Pro tip I can tell ya. I’d watch out for that gasket. Always put gasket maker on the seating point on the actual trans itself before the gasket makes contact because it will start leaking if ya don’t.
Love that body style! Going to look sick (i secretly hope the carolina squat look goes away and it becomes a normal or a leveled look in the future) but to each their own for taste, i respect it nonetheless 😜
As a technician I would have strongly suggested not touching that transmission with that kind of mileage. That’s a very risky thing to do. With miles like that that old fluid is usually the only thing keeping it going.
Just read your comment. About to buy a Tahoe. I am told that dirty trans oil can cause transmission to go bad because it clogs up the filter. Thanks for your reply. @@NWI_Steel
Ya I'm not sure about those 6l80e but the 4l60e you have to remove the linkage and next time or in the future I'd order a pan with a drain plug they are pretty cheap online but I don't know about those but like my 4l60e it takes about 3 gallons but doing the filter I only get about 4 quarts out so I'd recommend if you want fresh fluid doing another change at like the next oil change and if you had already got that pan you could just pull the plug and fill it back up
@@jasonsneade1638 they make a adhesive that u can find online usually called (defogger Tab repair kits, or rear defogger tab adhesive) for a good one 17-20 bucks all brands are a little different all do the same thing!! Apply the adhesive to the tab take the connector press hold for about 2-4 minutes, Doesn’t hurt to heat the window up before applying and letting it cool down for an hour after applying, would also suggest not to use defrost after it’s all said and done for about 24 hours, after that it’s all good!!
Loving the Tahoe content… how cold was it there in the video? Today this morning was 18 without wind… Keep up the incredible work and as always L…A…R…R…Y…!!!
And make sure you change the driver side valve cover to the updated one. Cylinders 1/7/4/6 spark plug will foul out due to oil getting in the intake and wetting the spark plugs with oil. You’ll prevent oil consumption.
Yall fucked up by changing the transmission oil if it’s never been changed before you leave it if not the new oil will cause damage to the transmission

You need to make it a bubba rig I feel like it would look so good and Lauren would like it too

With me being in maine im absolutely amazed that a 2012 still looks brand new underneath with nothing done to it
Can’t beat this body style I love my 2013!
_True but watch that AFM tho and them lifters.. basically make sure you do generous oil changes don't slack._
Love the tahoe content man can't wait to see what's next
Really like the Tahoe. Just bought my wife one and put a lift rimes and tires. Can’t wait to see what you guys add on.

Take it for a transmission relearn after you change filter and fluid. Make sure pressures are up to par with new thicker oil.

Yes Def need to fix that lol

Drain and refill is fine. It's the forceful flushes that can wreak havoc

Do exhaust and mud tires on the Tahoe soon if you could
Ik right
Nice work
Man really excited for true duals on this nice Tahoe who agrees???? like or comment
Here in Wisconsin, the only trucks that clean underneath are new ones.
Man the ballistics woulda looked killer on this rig😭
That fluid looks rough bro. Looks like it needs to be vacuumed out and complete refill
It’s safer not to change the fluid. If it’s dark it’s fine. As long as it doesn’t smell burnt. I just add to mine
Dude I love the Tahoe, reminds me of Ryan Mayers Tahoe he made a few years back! You should put an exhaust on there and soon 14 wides

And I hear the biggest problem with those 6l80e are the torque converter but a performance one is not cheap but they are cool
Future video: The transmission is slipping on the Tahoe!! 🤣
How’s the transmission holding up? I was always told don’t flush, just drain and refill the fluid and change the filter and gasket like you did 👍🏻
Keep up the good work👍.
Headers and straight pipe.
Waiting on these parts to come in for the build🙄
What kind of exhaust system are you gonna throw on
215k miles? Holy crap!
Wonder what those spark plugs look like 😂
Check those back window defrost tabs I get a lot of Yukons and tahoes with the tabs coming loose
Howdy,
I have a 2010. What is available to fix it or the product to attach back to glass. Thanks

Led upgrade next for the Tahoe 🤷🏼♂️
Wow that ford 9:01😳😳
You need to put led reverse lights on chomper
Rear main or oil pan leak?
I like these more than mods
Why do they not put a drain plug on the transmission pan too?
@@DerekL2005 Right but you can at least drain the fluid easier. Maybe more people would be willing to change their fluid then.
If you ever do this on Larry please make a video
