They missed an opportunity to make this a little bit more expensive but a lot more impressive by adding a bubbling rock inside the volcano that shoots a stream of bubbles on a timer (say, every 15 minutes), to simulate an eruption while aerating the tank. Or even just making it a button.
This design is such an improvement over the kit I got as a child in the 70's. The designers took the memo about texture aiding in algal growth, they've tweaked the formulas of the food and what comes in the egg packet. I think they've tried to make something that will actually work well. I noticed another commentor mentioned they could have added a bubbling feature which could have taken the tank up a notch, and would work well with the volcano theme, so I guess there's room for a "New and Improved" version. Whatever the case, I'm considering buying this for my grandchildren, so they, or perhaps you, have done a great job!

Crazy how resilient the dried brine shrimp eggs really are.) They might be there to give kiddos extra excitement when the number of their pets magically increases later on. Observing the changes is exciting after all. I don't want to kill them immediately...... I Need to Understand this!! Seriously?? This is way better than traditional Aquariums!! All about the MICRO Life!!!
I just started a sea monkey tank thanks to your videos, It seems like there is only 5 or 6 big(ish) ones swimming and it’s been 2 weeks should I buy more brine shrimp eggs or keep waiting?
A more deluxe version of this tank with a slightly larger capacity, bubbler in the volcano, and motorized fan to create a constant lava flow effect would probably sell pretty darn well.
So if I wanted to try raising some brine shrimp using a kit like this, I tend to keep my apartment's AC set to 72-74 degrees Fahrenheit. Would I need to make sure they have some warmth?
Hey, have you thought of trying a set up that combines the brine shrimp, copepods, tigger pods, or other micro organisms that might flesh out a full ecosystem? I would love to see a video to that effect! I have recently started keeping sea monkeys/ aqua dragons type brine shrimp and have also been binging your channel for info on how to ensure they have the best odds possible. My very first attempt (an Ocean Zoo tank kit that was on special in my local Aldi, an inexpensive grocery store chain in my area that has weekly specials on offer) didn’t survive, possibly due to poor storage conditions. But my inner child was awakened and I had fond memories of keeping sea monkeys as a child. I ended up investing in a one gallon tank, aquarium sand, some fake plants, a mini heater, as well as an air pump along with a replacement set of water purifier, eggs, and food. My new babies seem to be doing great so far as almost 2 weeks old! I greatly credit your videos with my success this time around. But I’m very curious about introducing other species such as copepods etc in an effort to set up a full ecosystem. Fingers crossed that you see this comment and decide to give it a try!
Lol I was planning on making my own background cutout for this video, but with my sense of humour it would’ve probably been too inappropriate for UA-cam 😆
What did do you give these when you run out of supplies food? I've seen these kids in the past and though I've had interest in them I never got one because I want sure where/how to get more food and didn't want them to starve when the supplied food ran out
You make such good quality videos thank yoooou. Though the swoosh sound effect on transitions can be a little...a lot. I'm high and maybe that's why. Love your vids, thank you for showing me how cool these pets are!
The males will basically “latch” onto anything that’s small enough for them to grab, which makes it difficult to use aquarium decor with fine details. The lava ornaments in this tank are too large for the males to grab onto, so it works well :)
I have a Question.I live in germany and i just started a "Aqua Dragon" Tank. Luckily already 30 have hatched.I just got a little Rock with some algae growing on it from a local creek and ive put it into a glass of water to grow a little micro algae. I wonder what other kinds of algae can turn them what other kinds of colors. I know there are more blue and green algae, but wonder if they'd be good for the shrimp to eat.

ahhhh a new picocosmos video right when I've been thinking about starting up a sea monkey tank again. I wish I could find this kit around me, it looks pretty neat especially if that red algae does help the brine shrimp grow better too.
This tank is available on their website, but I've heard some people say they don't ship to their location, so you'll have to check I guess
could you take a look at the Aqua Dragons Colour Changing Aquarium? I'm curious how true the color changing is for temperature indication.
I used to have aqua dragons all the time when i was little
I love this product
I might have to pic this one up it looks awesome
I don't want to kill them immediately...... I Need to Understand this!! Seriously?? This is way better than traditional Aquariums!! All about the MICRO Life!!!
I just started a sea monkey tank thanks to your videos, It seems like there is only 5 or 6 big(ish) ones swimming and it’s been 2 weeks should I buy more brine shrimp eggs or keep waiting?
You don’t need more eggs, if you can keep the ones you have healthy they’ll have plenty of babies :)
@@pico-cosmos😅😅okay thank you so much I’ve got a heating mat and I have a bubbler and i aerate daily any other tips to promote breeding?
A more deluxe version of this tank with a slightly larger capacity, bubbler in the volcano, and motorized fan to create a constant lava flow effect would probably sell pretty darn well.
After watching u my daughter was soooooo excited for her one Brian shrimp to finally give birth 😂😂😂😂
You named a girl shrimp Brian?
Btw I don’t have a filter or a oxygen pump for the tank can I just use the oxygen maker they provide with us?
Yeah a manual hand pump still works fine, just try to remember to do it once a day
Once a morning everyday or just 5 times in morning and 5 times about t9 go to bed?
Honestly it doesn’t matter too much
love it will have to get one after my space aquadargons die off if ever they go for a long time :)
So if I wanted to try raising some brine shrimp using a kit like this, I tend to keep my apartment's AC set to 72-74 degrees Fahrenheit. Would I need to make sure they have some warmth?
Are Aqua Dragons the same species of brine shrimp then Sea Monkeys
Yeah I think so. They look identical to me
@@pico-cosmos ok
I bought an aqua dragon kit too because the tank looked cool. Wouldn’t mind seeing more aqua dragons
What is your water replacement consist of?
I have aqua dragons set and there are in a good place!
It would be cute to switch out the card background with random other scenes cut from other packaging.
Lol I was planning on making my own background cutout for this video, but with my sense of humour it would’ve probably been too inappropriate for UA-cam 😆
Thats really cool! Quick question, why did it look like 2 of the shrimp were attatched to each other the entire time?
They were mating :)
@@pico-cosmos I thought so, but figured it was best to ask just in case. 😆
I love these kits haha
finally a new video ( :
Such cute little things
The adult form would make an INCREDABLE fishing lure if done well! I am NOT kidding!
I wish you could plug it in and the effects were able to be changed.
10:50 the bubble is KOing your pets..
Looks great
That’s a pretty cool tank!!!
This is how i was born
How many tanks do you occupied have at the moment?
Honestly I’ve lost count 😆 it’s a lot of work tending to them
So, im being dumb, but why would the shape of a decoration make the Aquadragons wanna mate with them?
The males will basically “latch” onto anything that’s small enough for them to grab, which makes it difficult to use aquarium decor with fine details. The lava ornaments in this tank are too large for the males to grab onto, so it works well :)
@@pico-cosmos Ah, thank you!
Red sea monkees!! So I could get blue or green or whatever if I find a way to safely color the yeast?
I have a Question.I live in germany and i just started a "Aqua Dragon" Tank. Luckily already 30 have hatched.I just got a little Rock with some algae growing on it from a local creek and ive put it into a glass of water to grow a little micro algae. Is this algae still suitable for consuption???
I love your Videos sooo much.
they all died
Wow, the Aqua Dragons blow the SeaMonkeys out of the water!
Wowieeee what a helpful opening! :0
I wonder what other kinds of algae can turn them what other kinds of colors. I know there are more blue and green algae, but wonder if they'd be good for the shrimp to eat.
I will always be waiting until you review triops
