A better gimmick than an actual functioning feature. This is definitely one of the most elaborate of all Sea-Monkey kits alongside the Space Shuttle. You can really see George Atamian’s influence in this kit. I love imagining him and Harold having “business” meetings talking about creating this kit like two excited kids. I remember my mom got me this kit years ago on sale at Marshall's and I loved it so much! Sadly being an 8 year old child I didn't appreciate the value of this kit and eventually donated it, and now at 30 and spending time searching the internet time to time I can't find it anywhere. Truly one of my regrets.

I just randomly came across your channel and I was reminded of how I had an obsession with Sea Monkeys when I was in middle school! I remember wanting an Aqua Watch to take my sea monkeys to school, the race track, and for some reason I think I wanted the office version of the set thinking that it was a bigger tank.
gods little shrimp are just so damn delightful. Lookit them just goin, not a care in the world about those wacky environments. theyd make a good college dorm pet I think... but not in a collecter level set! Impressive find, im glad to see this set get its usage arcived!

While individuals only live for 2 months, A well maintained tank using only official kit materials can survive 2 years, but they can survive for much longer with more specialised maintenance. I don't know where you got this idea that they all just starve and die.
That's partly why I started this channel - there was no decent video footage of this stuff being used so I figured I should probably make them to help preserve their history

Fyi for those curious, packet 1 has eggs inside, and it’s fairly safe to just put BOTH packets in at around the same time (if your water is in good condition)

Hey :) both of those are good options! Using a heater & airline in the mars tank could be a little tight for space though, so the magiquarium is the better option from that perspective 👌
I would recommend using one of those mat heaters if you get the Mars tank (its my favorite tank). That's what I ended up going with and then using the USB heater for one of the flatter and wider Sea Monkey tanks.

In my experience the heat mats are only able to raise the tank temperature by a few degrees though, while the USB heater is much more effective at keeping the tank warm. If you live somewhere that gets quite cold I think the USB heater is the better option, while the heat mat is ideal for warmer climates

Hi April :) I get most of my vintage tanks on eBay, but people also occasionally donate them to the channel like in this video. I’d recommend checking out the official Sea-Monkeys website to get your accessories and novelty packs. If you’re interested in turning them red I found a product called Astaxanthin that does it really well. @@pico-cosmos Yes they are all babies/teenagers, also after a few generations wouldn’t they start to inbreed? Bc that will cut the lifespan shorter and shorter until they are all dead, or do sea monkeys not have inbreeding defects

Inbreeding increases the likelihood of genetic diseases being passed down to offspring, but if you start out with a healthy colony of around 30 individuals I don’t think it would be too much of an issue. I’ve spoken to a brine shrimp keeper who has sustained a small tank for 7 years without any issues yet

I just bought my first sea monkey tank yesterday! I picked the Mars tank, and I can't wait to get home and get them set up. I'm currently looking for a small heat pad, since I'm in Canada and I like to keep my home cool, even in winter. I even joined the clubhouse group. Thanks for all the suggestions!
Hey Victoria :) Oh that’s exciting! I’ve never had the Mars tank before but I love the design, I’ll definitely have to get one someday. I’ve found that the heat pad is only really capable on increasing the tank temperature by a few degrees, so it’s often not strong enough during the winter. I keep my house quite cool too so the USB heater is a more effective heating option for me

I don't know jack about sea monkeys, I was born after the big craze and was too poor to be bought any anyway. Until I encountered this channel randomly I couldn't care less about brine shrimp. But the genuine passion and interest this guy has for these little guys is infectious. If i didn't live in a house with less-than-reliable climate control I'd probably get myself a kit
Awesome tank if you have some cling film to put over the top when you have the airline/heater in instead of the lid works a treat stops splash back and any dust getting into the tank!

I tried them, its been 2 days and I see at least 1 baby =) Hopefully it lives. If it does when it's big enough Ill add it to my half gallon aquarium colony =)

I think the mystery robo diver is like a human side character that comes by the sea monkeys and are a mystery to the monkeys. He is in a scuba suit but the monkeys think he’s a robot due to his appearance
Forgive me for commenting so much, but I just got my new tank in today! (Ocean Zoo) I was wondering if it was alright if the tube of my air pump isn’t touching the bottom/bubbles not hitting the bottom. It stays about 2/3 of the way in but that’s the best I can get it as the tube keeps it’s curve.
No need to apologise :) I’m more than happy to answer your questions. It doesn’t matter if the airline doesn’t touch the bottom - the most important thing is that the bubbles are slightly disturbing in the surface of the water, because that’s where the gas exchange / oxygenation happens :) ideally you would have the airline near the bottom as it helps with water circulation around the tank but it doesn’t really make a big difference 👍
i have an question in mind. what happens if the diver accidentally squishes one of the sea monkeys??would they die? honestly i think my questions are quite stupid ngl.
I thought they ate each other till there is 1 or 2 unless they are the same size, how do you end up with a whole colony of them? (Especially the new babies)

They're still around! They're available online all over the world, but here in Australia and in the US they're still on shelves at Big W/Walmart!

Glass is fine and the shape doesn’t matter. If you’re using a Sea-Monkey kit make sure you only use a maximum of 350ml water

I think the mystery robo diver is like a human side character that comes by the sea monkeys and are a mystery to the monkeys. He is in a scuba suit but the monkeys think he’s a robot due to his appearance

I was wondering if it was alright if the tube of my air pump isn’t touching the bottom/bubbles not hitting the bottom.
It stays about 2/3 of the way in but that’s the best I can get it as the tube keeps it’s curve.

It doesn’t matter if the airline doesn’t touch the bottom - the most important thing is that the bubbles are slightly disturbing in the surface of the water, because that’s where the gas exchange / oxygenation happens :) ideally you would have the airline near the bottom as it helps with water circulation around the tank but it doesn’t really make a big difference 👍
I wonder what would happen if you dissected one. Or retrieved the dna and mixed it with another microorganism. What would it’s offspring look like?

I guess it's possible, but probably unlikely to injure them. The diver doesn't descend all that quickly
I thought they ate each other till there is 1 or 2 unless they are the same size, how do you end up with a whole colony of them? (Especially the new babies)
Sea-Monkeys can only eat microscopic particles, so they can’t eat each other 😅 Watch my video titled “how to keep your sea-monkeys alive” for my best tips on raising them
