Was in the USAF stationed in Germany. Was in East Anglia during Falklands War and went to Spain and ended up watching Argentina- Hungary play in Alicante after a few days in Benidorm. Didnt play up that I was an American all that much. It was a blast.
It was actually composed and produced by Chris Norman and Pete Spencer, both members of hitmaking country-pop band Smokie. Chris also duetted with Suzi Quatro on her sole US Top 10 hit, 'Stumblin' In'.

I'd been humming it ever since, until a few minutes ago when I remembered a few words, and it suddenly dawned on me that it was this song back from when I was 10!!!! Long term memory is a funny thing... and this was pure nostalgia - all hail the time-travelling power of UA-cam. Thanks for posting this (13 years ago! LOL)
