May you bless by King Arthur! Continue learning Cymraeg, I'm learning it too! And when you done Welsh you can learn Breton and Cornish, they are Britons too
At note on the translation: "Er gwaetha a Gelyn a'i griw!/Despite England, we are alive!" 'Gelyn' doesn't directly translate as 'England'. The name of that country is 'Lloegyr'. 'Gelyn' translates as Enemy, but the implication is clear
The Welsh., Scottish and the Irish despise the English but they don’t know why, How deluded. Arrogance and theft is easily forgotten! One day they will pay the price. Cachu.
I'm intrigued, could you or anyone please explain why the Greek letter omega "ω" is used in place of "w"? They're already so unrelated from each other; "ω" in its lowercase form, was originally two omicrons “oo” written together in Greek in the other end of Europe; the usage of "w" emerged separately from Latin "VV" or "uu" in the 7th or 8th centuries that later combined for the West Germanic languages and in turn the English language alongside Welsh due to both of them being in Great Britain.
The Greek letter omega (ω) is not typically used in place of "w." If it appears so, it's usually due to typographic errors, visual similarity, or stylistic choices. Historically, "w" originated from the doubling of "u" or "v" in medieval Latin to represent the /w/ sound, while omega represents a long "o" sound in Greek and has no relation to "w." Any substitution is likely a mistake or artistic choice, not a linguistic standard.
@@alynwillams4297 I'm glad for the neat and much better explanation than I did. It was hard for me to pinpoint the usage of the rounded W in Welsh online, in which I found nothing in the end.

It is worth noting that the english found it easier to conquer India, half way across the world than to conquer Wales, next door. Just sayin.
