yup, i know how u feel, first time hiking it i got lost, i was so disappointed, it is specially helpful to know where u going especially if ur going alone
actually the main reason no one post the directions is because it crosses a downhill mountain biking trail which has caused some injuries lately from MTBikers trying to avoid hikers. More experienced hikers are usually non issue but new hikers looking for the swing have been a big danger. you have kids hanging out in the middle of the trails on a portion where it's impossible to brake or come to a complete stop. MTB community is currently trying to get together to build a trail specifically that leads to the swings that keeps people off the downhill MTB trail to avoid further injuries
I finally came to this hiking trail but unfortunately a lot of the trail markings are sprayed painted...😮got lost...luckily I joined a couple and made it...well kind of. I was too scared to do the rope trail because it got pitch black.
Directions spot on, Thank you!! Completed this steep hike, was too windy and a bit unnerving but was worth it. A new ladder was in place and the hikers were all very patient waiting to get their turn on the swing, LOL. Your video is the best in getting directions, well done Hiker on a Trail!
Where was this video when I went?! Lol I was lost for 2 hours but I found it when I gave up and started walking back 😂 thank you for sharing this video!! Might have to go back now ☺️
Ok I just did this hike to the caves today at 1pm, it was like 96 degrees out, no shade, not enough water and this hike IS A BEAR! do not try this if your shoes dont grip that well, or you are heat sensitive. Its straight up, over rocks, dirt, hill sides at a crazy angle and the heat reflected off of the surface gets to you quickly. Once you are at the caves, they are in dis repair, most of the artwork has rubbed away and if you slip off those cables getting to the caves kiss your ankles goodbye, both will likely snap! other than this, it offers really great views of Simi Valley!
I only found six T-14 brown markers and from there we got so lost. There are places where the trail splits and eventually you just have to climb rocks to get there. We never found it.
Before the "Wonderland" spray painted, I just climbed on the rocks, the arrows painted were pretty good at guiding me. To go inside the actual cave there was a ladder when I went, the ladder was kinda sketchy so have someone hold on. Baby booomer hiking this? The first time I went was with my friend and her parents, and they were up there in age, and I was the one being the snail in the group. It just depends on your fitness level. Some parts are steep, I go early in the a.m.
I went to the hummingbird trail a couple weeks ago and tried to find it..but failed! lol. None of the people I came across on the trail knows it, neither.

Hey there, I wouldn't recommend bringing ur dog. Some parts are steep and might be tricky taking the cable down towards the end with a dog, hope this helps
Thank you for the EXACT directions. I was nervous about getting lost out there. Is the other Cave in Simi Valley? I see Vanalden Cave in Tarzana, is that the one? Keep posting directional videos...as I get lost in my own backyard 😁
Hey there, the hike in Simi Valley is the Hummingbird Trail. There is another cave hike nearby in Tarzana, its called the Vanalden Cave, I have exact directions of that hike in my video, that Vanalden Cave is super easy, its like 15 minutes to the cave from trail start.
Sadly but it's not the same anymore, Crackheads, Graffiti gone, and someone either cut the swing off or jacked it. Oh and btw, there's caca there so be very careful. It's a great hike regardless but man big disappointment, things just ain't the same anymore.
No one was willing to give directions to this hike cause it was “secret”. Thanks for telling us exactly where to go!

Thanks for the video ...
Keep it up, great vlogs
I LOVE YOUR CHANEL. THANK YOU SM 🙏🏼💙
Well done!
How long is the part walking with the rope? That looks scary
About 15 feet, it's easier than it looks
I went yesterday and alot of the trail markers have been taken down alot of people got lost sadly. 5 hours and i couldn't find it
Are the bunny, arrow and ape markers still visible? I heard they were removed.
Yeah went there few weeks ago and they were gone. The screenshot I posted helps. Happy hiking
Swing no longer there ☹️
Do you just hike back the way you came? And is the distance 2.85 miles there and back?
Yes it is 2.85 miles there And Back, per my AllTrails recording. And I took the same route there and back
How were you able to climb the boulder at 3:15? I didn't see anything next to it that you can step on? Would you recommend this hike to baby boomers?

This is amazing! I'm planning on going this week and loved your video. Is the two hour time and 2.85 miles for one way, the whole trail out and back?
Hey there, the time is for round trip. There n back. I hiked the most direct way. Enjoy ur hike
Is it crazy to go there alone? from the looks of it, it looks okay, but coming from a hella dangerous country I've got to double check everything :D
I wouldn't do alone, but if u must on weekends there are more people. Also right now it's super hot so bring plenty of water
@@hikeronatrail ok, good to know. thank you!! :)

I took my dog. She did fine. I only carried her up the ladder.

Yikes, pretty disappointing that people don't know how to take care of nature 😕
I have been looking for places like this to hike in LA area. SO SAD to see how they have ruined it with all those graffiti!!! 👎🏼👎🏼 WHY!!?? 😡😡😡
Some people just don't know how to appreciate nature 😒
@@hikeronatrail yeah, really sad.
The perfect spot to kil-send my crazy gf away.
