I actually did almost exactly this once with two friends in college. We rode bikes about 10 miles down a trail to this lake and we swam out onto an island a half mile and climbed up on the bluff and picked up huge rocks and threw them into the lake yelling “Hulk smash!” each time. Then we swam back and were almost dead and we rode our bikes to KFC and got the buffet in the small town my friends went to college in and I’ve never been so hungry or in shape in my life. I’m but a shadow of my former glory.
So nobody gonna mention what a HEARTATTACK of a moment it is to see you twiddle your legs joycely over a 50m tall cliff straight over the ocean??????? My heart sank so fast
Every time I see a picture of someone doing that I panic. I thought my uncle was going over the side trying to get a good picture. I appreciate the beauty from the path.
Actually the Irish lifting stones were used as a defined measure of ones readiness to earn work as a farmhand. So some lifting stones were used as essential an interview test to get a specific job. Others were kind of like professional certifications allowing you to demand more pay as you were a higher class of laborer. These then became incorporated into Wedding ceremonies and as a way to salute the dead by showing your willingness to push yourself in honor of an individual.

Keen to do some of these stones next time I’m back in the country. Been following Indiana Stones for about a year now. Lovely work revitalizing the culture.
I've built many water features mostly using natural rocks, stones and boulders. The best way to lift heavy boulders is to squat near it, wrap your arms so that the weight will be close to your body and bearing on your biceps. When possible, roll it back onto your biceps as you bring it up towards the chest while lifting with your legs.
