  • No fancy camera work with this one unfortunately. Here is an unedited full cycle of the 1986 Hotpoint Potwasher Dishwasher. Background noise is kept to a minimum.

I love the 16:00 to 45:00 part! I am always drifting off to sleep here! So relaxing! This was probably the main wash cycle here.

This sound reminds me of the 1993 GE Potscrubber dishwasher that my grandparents used to have. A great consistent sound for sleeping, in my opinion.

I agree. It brings back so many memories of my Kenmore built by GE.

Hotpoint was made by General Electric, which quit making appliances and electronics
with both that round GE logo and General Electric around
      1994. Hotpoint is no longer
      in business. 1993 was the
      last year for leading brands
      like Whirlpool, General Electric,
      Maytag, Hotpoint, Kenmore,
Frigidaire, Kitchen-Aid Superba to make kitchen appliances
like refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, microwaves, toasters,
blenders, washing machines, dryers with retro brown, grey, silver control panels, wooden
      brown and silver coated trim
      above controls on very top.

I love that sound of the motor. I hope you get it fully functional where it sprays at maximum pressure and the pump spins at 3000 rpm. Happy New Year!

My Grandma had a GE dishwasher I think it's from the late 80's but I'm not sure exactly.

We had a newer version of this with the wood panel trim around the control panel, still gives me nightmares. I’m not sure why but I’ve had hundreds of nightmares about it overflowing or having standing water, or it making horrendous and awful sounds. Reason being probably because when we got rid of it the machine had started to make electrical noises while it was filling and pressurizing and it would vibrate like hell, it wasn’t in very good condition anymore but it did a hell of a good job cleaning

I had a Kenmore version of this dishwasher and it too would vibrate at times when the dishwasher would try to pressurize.

The machine is not getting enough water. This is evident by the cavitation of the pump and the lack of the sound of the spray in the wash chamber. There should be a very distinct sound of water from the wash tower hitting the door.
