Gorgeous machine!!! I had a 2071 but sold it and my Hat Box canister in 2018...Removing the belt from the brush roll just might improve your tool suction!!! Cheers!!!

Very nice machine. I had a 630, 1934a and a vintage Eureka Automatic when I was a kid. I had the 630 the longest. You are absolutely right about the attachments: they don't have much suction through the hose. Not useless by any means, but for very light dusting. In my opinion, these machines are best suited for lots of carpeting and very little flooring.

I definitely remember seeing and hearing a similar model that my mom’s parents had until it died.

Wow, what a beautiful machine, not like today's pieces of junk! I never even knew such an attachment kit was even available so I really appreciate your showing that!
Somewhere in my dad's basement is a very old upright without a beater brush of any kind. I don't even remember the brand, it's been probably almost 35 years since I've seen it but I'm sure he still has it. It had a cloth bag, round in shape, and had sort of an orange diamond pattern on it, that's all I can remember.

Thanks Jay. Next time you're there you should haul it off and make a video, sounds like it wouldn't be missed.

I fully agree. However, unburying it, that would be an archaeological dig!

I will say, much more durable than the prices of junk they sell today.

The metal brushbars beat the wooden ones by FAR!

Awesome looker and performer! The chrome headlight trim is eye-catching. What's the type - R or RB? The upgrade with Edge Kleeners is the Model 2048.
This is more or less a Model 2022 of the same era but with a Rugulator instead of a Dial-A-Nap.

One of these days I might make a video of my 1989 Kirby Legend II but it will need quite a bit of polishing and cleaning since it’s been about 9 years since I last gave it a good detail and cleaning since it was pulled out of storage.

Good job on that Eureka machine there Richard! I remember my mom having one of the later models of that Eureka, with the optional attachment set, like that one, and the poor performance of the attachment set. She wound up buying a Eureka "Mighty Mite" canister vacuum with attachments, which did a much better job when you needed to use attachments, I actually still have the "Mighty Mite!" It's a kinda dark orange color machine. While it works good, it's not as powerful as the Montgomery Wards (Eureka?) Machine that you gave me! I use the MW anytime I need to use attachments to clean, it's the best by far!

The Wards is a Eureka. I'm surprised that it outperforms the Mighty-Mite, usually those were very powerful.

@@richardhz-oi8px the Wards (Eureka) definitely outperforms the Mighty Mite, I think it's that the Mighty Mite is getting old, it has seen heavy use over the years, and while it still works ok, it's not as powerful as it used to be, and definitely not as powerful as the Wards!

@@davepike6170 Well I'm still very glad that you have been able to find good use for the Ward's. It was such a nice find in very good condition I couldn't pass it up but it just wasn't a prime collection piece for me, just not something that I could find a good place for. I knew it would make a very good vintage daily use for someone and I'm glad that someone was you.

I could never figure out why the disturbulator had replaceable beaters and not brushes...

I think it has to do with manufacturing, its quick and easy to mill a channel into the wood and slide them in, while the only other alternative was to nail them down to the wood which would have been far more likely to fall off.
