Oh, and great work with the sleuthing James!

Actually, the Forbidden Road leads to Sylvester's mother's house and is blocked off to ensure that no one bugs her or Sylvester ever again.

This film is one of my all-time favourites, I've watched it so often I can pretty much recall the script word-for-word and it still makes me practically die laughing every time I watch it.

I saw this on TV in the later '70s and into the '80s. It remains among my all-time favorite movies. The attitudes and essence of the time is a place I've always wanted to be. It was an early take on what I thought was reality, as a California native among other things. My Grandparents were from the East, and moved to El Monte in 1947. Thanks for sharing these. As a kid I would see some of the identical scenery on the PCH in Malibu, notably the white home with the modernist arched front design.

Dude that was one of my all time favorite classics. Especially the Ladder scene at the end. I nearly died cause I was eating christmas dinner when I watched it back when I was 7. I literally made Dressing come out of my nose.

This is amazing. I've been a huge fan of this movie for 26 years. I discovered it way back in 1992 when I was only 12 years old. For about a year after that, it was my favorite movie. Nice to see some of those location over 50 years since they filmed it.

Very enjoyable to see this, you can feel that he is really into it. I like it very much when people really go after the things they like and not only what would bring the most views etc.
Yet it kinda made me sad how these places have changed... from a whole lot of nature to a plane concrete ground...

"It's such a minor scene that most people wouldn't think about..."
EXCUSE ME?!?! That's one of the funniest, most memorable scenes in the movie for me! Phil Silvers at his best.
As for the "Chevy-Dodge" final car crash into the ditch, I've always been certain the stunt driver behind the wheel of the Dodge had to sustain some serious injuries when he slammed into that steering wheel.

Mad, mad World was like a travelog to me. I was an elementary school kid living in woodland hills when they were filming the movie. I KNEW I had seen many of those locations, and I was right.
