Another spot on video, I ordered a Tec Bike X pipe for the Speedmaster Im about to customize. Figured I try this X pipe before changing mufflers. I really want to keep the factory pipes. And Im not looking for a large sound increase. Just something more. Thanks!
Great video...I got a SM as well so good to see you working on one. Like the tail tidy up and the black wheel rims, I also powder coated footrests, top yoke and various other bits and bobs.. Quick question...is your right hand front disc closer to the caliper mount than the left? I had a problem with the right disc rubbing, now 'fixed' but still less than a millimetre away, the left disc has loads of room...Thanks
Hi Mike. I suppose technically it could do. But I can’t see them kicking up a fuss about a decat, if the warranty issue is totally unrelated. If the worse came to the worse and I did have an engine issue, I’d just refit the cat.
@@big500 I have been looking for a Speedtwin recently and had the all black engine and exhausts in mind with white wall tyres. My local dealership (Pidcocks) are giving me a quote but I reckon I might be better buying a used fusion white bike and doing it myself. It certainly makes sense after watching your other video which I have watched 3 times. Your bike is stunning by the way.
Mike H62 glad you like it Mike. I recon the speed twin is the pick of the bunch, I’d love one, but I’m stuck with forward controls due to my knees. So the Speedmaster is the next best for me.👍
@@big500 Typo sorry and old age, my last bike was an original Speed twin in the eighties. I meant Speedmaster. I would be dead in a week on that new Speedtwin as a born again biker.
It's a good work. I would like to ask you something. Is it possible to mount the tank of a Bonneville T120 on the Speedmaster? Just 12 liters petrol it's quite to little- i think!
Anybody know if this is this the same procedure for the 2023? Somewhere else was saying you gotta pull the tank and undo the left side frame to get the cat out.
Hi Joseph. The number plate holder came from British legends www.britishlegends.fr/en/bobber-tail-tidy.html and the multi function tail lights are a stock triumph accessory www.triumphmotorcycles.co.uk/accessories/electrical/current/a9830140-multi-function-light-kit-short. I had to cut and shut the wiring, but I think there is a loom available now.
Good video. I'm about to fit an x-pipe myself over the coming weeks. Can you clarify whether the petrol tank needs removing at all to move the headers out of the way? thanks
@@big500 Hi, After watching your tutorial several times I took the plunge. X-Pipe (Tec) fitted. I seem to be getting far too many pops and bangs now on over-run. Maybe I should re-do the 12 minute "Triumph Tune" or check for air leaks? Any advice? How can I tell if I have an air leak at any of the xpipe joints or header joints?
@@mrcraighew1 Hi Craig, I don’t think the bangs and pops will do any harm, but if it’s getting on your nerves you could try fitting a fuel booster. I’m guessing much of this is down to the bikes running very lean. If you just give a little throttle on the over run I’ll bet it hardly pops and bangs at all. Let me know how you get on👍
Hi Alfie... I think it depends where you live. But in the UK there is no requirement to keep the cat. But who knows how the rules may change in the future?👍

Nice work, sounds great. Getting ready to de-cat my '23 Speedmaster
Did you use the OEM mid pipe? Seems like you would.
Dude that sounds great!!!
Awesome 🤙

Hi Richard, and thanks for your comments. The caliper to disc spacing looks about the same on both sides..... yes I’m using a Haynes manual.
You made that look easy, well done. Does the decat mess up any warranty with the dealer?

Bit late to the party - sounds great - what size rear tyre is that - looks bigger than the 160? Thanks
It’s the standard size, but on a slightly wider wheel.
@@big500 Thanks for the reply - can I ask why? and it must have flared out the walls some as it does look wider than stock. Cheers
@@pod-puretone I fancied some lighter wheels, as I thought they’d improve the handling and look cool. So I ordered them a bit wider than stock

I don’t know Karin… but I find 12 litres is good for 140 miles so I’m ready to get off and stretch my legs after that👍

It’s the same procedure. You don’t need to remove the tank, but you do need to loosen the left hand frame rail to get the cat out..🤓
Your taillight is tidy! What set up did you use? Integrated brake/turn signals? Link or product info?

Hey, great vid! Are those the bobber handlebars? Any risers?
Hi Phil... Yes Motone risers.. 1” higher with 1” pullback👍
Good trip over it later joke lol
Hello great video. Could you confirm me the size of the bold of the diabolo for the rear stand 6mm or 8mm. Thanks for the answer.
8mm Frederic👍
Nice video, very usefull!
Exhaust?
Hi Rudd. The silencers are Shark.
hi, I'm trying to figure out how to unscrew the largest bolt from the frame 0:55
You need a torx T50 a long breaker bar and a 17mm spanner on the nut at the back
@@big500 ok i did it with a lot of effort. thanks 💪🏻

Did you get the casing blacked out,
Yes. I bought the black cases and had them fitted at the first service
What headers do you have on your Speedy?
Hi Mike.. They’re off a Bobber black. I bought them from eBay.👍
Did you need to remap?
No…bike runs perfectly..👍
