    All the best for a speedy recovery! Are you considering taping for your return to play? Having experienced adductor strains myself I have found it quite useful doing a pinch and roll technique with rigid tape plus a compression tape around the upper thigh. Works wonders 👌🏽

    Such a nice idea to make this vlog series for us, thank you. Hoping Kai gets well in time to take the cup! Btw, how light were the adductor exercises, given the pain limitation, and how did you tell how much work was enough for this session?

      Happy you like it Gabriel! Wednesday is going to be tought to be honest. Hard to express in kg because every machine is different. If I had to guess i would say around 80% intensity of what I could have done before. There is no evidence on which volume is best. Wanted to hit the adductors from different angles in difference exercise forms, so in total it was around 45 minutes including the cycling and biking

      @@Physiotutors cool! Thanks for the answer, it is very valuable for me (a student) to learn the thought process of professionals that care about evidence-based practice (even when there is no conclusive evidence available for a case)

    In your opinion is electro therapy a must if u want to recover from some injuries(adductor and lower abs in my case), or can u do it with strengthening exercises and stretches?

      Gotta load the adductors if you want to get better

The thing is I have a weird feeling on both legs like something is gonna hurt but it just doesnt. Idk what i should do about this weird feeling.

    Whenever I have strained an adductor or hamstring muscle, I have had the anti-inflammatory diclofenac sodium in my system for the treatment of some other injury far away from the adductors & hamstrings, like insertional achilles or , shoulder or elbow pain. Injury whilst taking diclofenac sodium has happened too many times to be just a coincidence. Do you know why this medication could make the muscles more susceptible to injury?

    • @Physiotutors
      @Physiotutors  3 роки тому +1

      Would have to do my research as well. Only thing that we are aware of is that there is research suggesting that hypertrophy can be impaired in case ibuprofen is consumed

    • @gothops2632
      @gothops2632 3 роки тому

      @@Physiotutors Well diclofenac isn't ibuprofen, but it's still an anti-inflammatory, Do you think that maybe the reason for the muscle injuries is because it impairs normal protein synthesis from previous workout, but at the same time eliminates pain, thus making those muscles more vulnerable to injury in the next workout?

    Great video.
    I have question: you felt a painfull stabbing sensation which is a great indicator for a strain injury in my opinion. If the origin of the pain cannot be rememeberd by the patient i might be thinking about a more thendinopathie kind of problem ( ofcourse also depening on the work load and other risk factors) what would be other je hypotheses for a thendinopathie and would al lot of the same exercisis be An option for that pathologie in your opinion.
    Ps: what was the exact localication of the pain you where experiencing?

    • @Physiotutors
      @Physiotutors  2 роки тому +1

      Never seen a proximal adductor tendinopathy in practice tbh. Could also be muscular origin.
      It's not always necessary or possible to provide a diagnosis on ICD basis and we also tell our patients that (in simple words of course). In all cases we are treating deficits, dysfunctions etc. anyways (ICF level). So would advise to figure out deficits and load the sensitive area progressively.

    • @Physiotutors
      @Physiotutors  2 роки тому +1

      Pain location in my case was the adductor longus

    • @marinusremmink919

      @@Physiotutors great advice. Some Times as student phsyiotherapy im really focussed on finding the origin of the problem instead of threating what i do know like the deficits you are talking about in the video. Good to be reminded of that!

    Just reflecting on how us physios treat ourselves vs how our services allow us to treat our patients.
    We give ourselves world class, optimal treatment and patients get given second class, meh treatment.

      Don't think that our system here in the Netherlands would restrict us from providing a similar rehab.
      Have a patient come in early for 10 min biking, then 25min of rehab. They can run on their own afterwards
