Ahh! Thank you for showing my build! My food truck is really inspired by cities like Portland where whole parks are dedicated to street food culture, and there are semi-permanent store fronts for each vendor. I feel like San Sequoia would have something like this in the downtown area. This is my favorite lot to build on because of how I can blend the build into the surrounding environment. Thanks again, Simsie!!
Your building was one of my favorite of all times! You're so creative is unbelievable. Can u tell me where is the chalk scribbles item on the floor from? Also, hope u get well and happy soon. You're amazing!
That is my creepy build at the end the Lil Funeral & Cemetary. I saw the comment on my build today and nearly died of fan girl excitement. Thanks for the little bit of love Simsie!
Yeah, so I totally peeked at the description before watching much of the video & literally let out a _shriek_ when I saw mine is there!! 🤯🥺 Edit: THANK YOU!! I'm so so glad you liked how it turned out! Also, to answer your question: it took me around 12 hours to finish the build, & then about 8 more hours to finish the editing & video! 😂😅
Thank you so much for including my build! I actually decided on doing ruins because I was going on vacation. I thought I would be able to save some time because I wouldn't have to decorate the exterior... what a silly thought that was! I found the size of this shell to be incredibly challenging to do and I saw so many amazing builds on the gallery. I'm truly grateful that you included my build when there were hundred of others that easily could have taken my spot. Thank you so much!
I will download your house, use it and follow your builds. I don't have the packs so basically I need a inspiration to build, so i search a lot in gallery aot a houses with the base game. And thank you so much!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was in a bridgerton mood, and was building the show's home, but got overwhelmed after finishing the outside, then watched Kayla's video and decided to make something inspired on bridgertone with her shell.
i loved this shell challenge a lot! everyone is so creative. I personally did it twice : one as a cute house that is trans pride themed because i did it on trans visibility day and the other one was a strangerville/batuu science-y themed house build :)
This was my first shell challenge! I made a bike rental and repair shop with a bee themed sign, and found out there's only like two bee related items and three bike related items including debug! 😂😵
i love love love doing shell challenges, especially kayla's! we all have different building styles and i think that's so cool, the comments on this video are making me really happy
I loved doing this shell challenge. My and my sister do simultaneous builds and reveal at the end. Its always so cool to see different takes on the same thing. I built a little library for mine. I think the size of this one made me focus a lot more on the outside scenery and I ended up with the first community lot that I'm actually proud of. The creativity of these builds is unreal and I can't wait to my make something outside of my comfort zone.
Kayla istg I will literally never unsubscribe from this channel so please never stop making videos lol it’s so comforting and the comment section is generally so kind. I love the safe space u’ve created here, tysm 💚
I am honestly so honored and proud to be involved in such a great community like the sims community. You guys ALL made some AMAZING builds and I could not be more proud of our group of individuals. Thank you all for making the Sims community such a loving and free space
I wanted to say how much fun I had with this shell challenge! It was one that I had a vision for as soon as I saw it, and I had a ton of fun executing it! I made a little garden shop with it! Complete with indoor and outdoor plants, seed packets, plant-themed art, garden statues and decor, and planter boxes! I was able to make it so maximalist and full of stuff and color, which is my favorite thing to do in builds. I look forward to the next shell challenge!
I saw ChrissieYT doing her speed build and that's how I learned about the shell. I avoid shell challenges usually because I'm a horrible builder, but I love to watch others build! :) I added her off-the-grid build to my personal play save file and I'm loving it so much. In her video, she talks about who all the rooms are for and her thoughts behind all the separate houses. Just so good!!
The huge farm looks like it would be soooo much fun to play in, but not for console, you'd need a seriously good gaming PC to run a lot with that much stuff in it. But it would be so much fun there's so much to do. Especially considering loading screens are such a faff as well.
It's an honour and inspiration to be part of one of the most creative and geeky communities on the planet!! I know what I'll be doing with the rest of my day 🙌😉.
on the food truck build i LOVE the "sidewalk" in the middle of the lot i love how it visually becomes two lots i'm definately going to start that in some of my builds
i made a little lux desert getaway / holiday home (which can also just be a normal residential home ) and it was so fun playing around with things ive learned from watching you build !! watching the full stream where you looked at all the different builds was so much fun and definitely gave me inspo to build some more fun stuff
these builds are absolutely incredible, I love seeing what people do so so much!! as a newer sims builder myself it’s so much fun getting ideas from these shell challenge builds! I decided to start the Not So Berry Challenge for the first time soon after this shell challenge started, so I just made a starter home for my mint gen sim with the shell! :)
I admire how much effort people put into shell challenge builds. When I try to come up with something creative in the Sims I end up building something like "Woohoo Jail" (it looks awful and contains as many items Sims can woohoo in as I could/had packs for at the time).
Very cool builds! I especially love the ruins, the off-grid farm, and the dive bar. The restaurants also look great. I love ideas like this but I would never have the patience to make them. I will definitely be raiding the gallery!
I've never had Simsie show my build, but I still have /very/ fond memories of the circle shell, which I used to build a huge, ominous tower in the giant park lot in Oasis Springs, and filled it with cobwebs and creepy Vampires pack statuary. The whole tower had a huge hole running through the middle of it, with a glass roof over it as a "skylight".
Simsie joking about someone making an alien house inspired me to make the shell into "alien hunting headquarters". I turned the shell into an abandoned autobody shop in Strangerville thats been taken over by conspiracy theorists. As much as I love occult sims, I usually dont do anything like what I built for this shell challenge so it was cool to be able to branch out and build things I normally wouldnt!
I don't even get how these simmers manage to make such impressive builds! I've only just gotten back into the sims, and I haven't even attempted to build in it yet! Holy cow!
For an *organized debug* catalogue, I've heard great things about TwistedMexi's Better Build/Buy mode. It improves on several other aspects of Build/Buy and I think it even adds names to debug items. I can't personally recommend it because I haven't tried it, but TwistedMexi is a very well known, very reputable modder who has made some huge, amazing mods
I built a 100 Baby Challenge home!! Two technically! One ideal setup with any packs I had. One a base game starter home with the same setup. I actually love and prefer doing the 100BC in a tiny home (usually 64 tiles), so it was fun to design a beautiful home that I would actually use. Maybe my next time though, because I love my current 100BC tiny home lol Thank you for another tiny shell, Kayla! And it was honestly perfect for what I ended up making 😊
"your build is not worse than anybody else´s I promise" I wish my teachers on architecture school said that. Will take this and use it everytime I fail again ✨
The build I made for this was a Celebrity Nightclub that was run by Spellcasters who used potions in the drinks. I had a lot of fun making it! And all the builds you picked to showcase are absolutely amazing!
I made an off-the-grid farm with a lot of energy generating stuff. It's the tiny shell house on top of a massive, forested hill on a 64 x 64 lot and I put a river going down the hill, with waterfalls (fountains and T.O.O.L. mod). There's a bunch of farmland as well.
These are so cool! I remember seeing some of them during the livestream. I built a cutesy little home, a cat cafe, and a dog park/kid park/pool/splash park all-in-one thing!
These are incredible! I’m so sad I didn’t get a chance to do this one! Some of my favourite builds have been from your shell challenges. I love that they push us outside our comfort zones.
I participated in this one and had so much fun I think I honestly grew as a builder too. I got so much better at roofing and placing objects in general I cant wait for the next one during the charity streams next month. Edit: I just built a small family home for a toddler and parents but it ended up being like 45k so....👀i wanted to also build a funeral home but it didnt happen so thats my plan for the next shell
First ever shell challenge for me. Discover it a few weeks ago, heading on one of your late videos about it. And I made a little café with also a pumpkin patch attached to it !
If EA really does want to encourage this type of community play/build style, I would LOVE to see these build challenges integrated into the gallery somehow. Those themes they tried to push (was it last year?) were just weird. I would love a way for a creator to upload a build as a challenge, maybe under a certain category (shell, makeover, etc), and others be able to enter the challenge right on the gallery. It would make it easier to find challenges to do as well as easier to look at everyone's entries without having to get the right hashtag and just having to scroll through everything that pops up
I feel completely the same way every Sims build is good in their own way unless it's like 18 bathrooms and then a fridge but no seriously like all of these builds in this video we're super cool and interesting to look at and even gave me some ideas for my own builds
I'm so impressed by all of these! :O Oh wow Chrissie's one I found via a friend of mine lol, and I actually wanted the bathroom clutter to see it in all it's glory lol, I didn't realise it was the same shell that I watched you build recently lol, it's a small Sim world lol! I can't wait to move a family in to play in it! :D Omg that Voidworld, I always forget about Void Critters, that is just amazing, definitely adding to my game! I got a lot to download and install in lol!
Amazing works of art well done to you all. I just wish I wasn't so fretful of building anything more than a room. I really want an 11th century Norman (from Normandy France) castle. I love historic buildings.
I made a pool that has a toddler safe swimming area! With the shell I put in bathrooms and a bar area and from the bar made a “viewing deck” so you can see both the pool and toddler area while your kiddos enjoy their time
Those are pretty cool. My favorite is the Ruins one. So creative, all of them. I wish I was that creative. I did make an abandoned gas station and stuff but I had a lot of mods to make it happen.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words. However, Saint Isla Castle Ruins wasn't playtested. I recommend moving the computer under a roof so it doesn't get rained on and a couple pieces of furniture need to be moved to function better. I hope you enjoy playing with it in the future!
You are still valid. Nobody said mods arent allowed. I'm sure your gas station is wonderful! I never participate in these challenges because I get easily frustrated by how meticulously you need to be for placing every little thing 😅 Edit. Also, YES! Castle ruins was my favourite, together with food truck and the movie set
Thank you both so much! You're so kind! And I agree with glitch84! I also used mods to create my build. Mods are merely a tool to show off how creative we all can be and I guarantee you're just as creative as everyone else in the gallery. I always learn something new watching these videos and that will never change. I also find the shell challenges to be frustrating, especially because of adhd. I made a house for plant sims! They don't need a kitchen, so that really freed up a lot of space and I was able to fit in two bedrooms
