Hearing Kayla talk about how her favorite thing the telescope does is potentially kill your sims is so funny to me. In general, the vibes she gives off at first is "sweet, wholesome, G rated ytber" until you start really getting into her videos, and you realize what an agent of chaos she is 😂 she has a tier list both for woohoo spots and deaths in the sims, and I love that for her ❤
I love seeing fancy, all-the-packs builds like this. I'm a builder myself, so I don't really need to be able to downloads all the builds, but I love the inspiration I can get from seeing you build freely

Restricted pack and budget builds can definitely be fun, but she really doesn't need to feel bad about going crazy with the packs either! She's good at striking a balance, I think
Sims do atleast seem to try and carry out instructions, there will still be bugs, this Engine IS Still odd, Given The Sims 4 was NEVER Supposed to be what it is, it was supposed to be Multiplayer (Project Olympus), and yes, the game Shouldn't have released like this, but I say this as a Lover of the Old Generations of The Sims... we need to see them act on things, and we also need to Tell them what's wrong. no matter how annoying it may be
I just want to say that outside kitchen is an essential part of the house in many Southeast Asian places. In our place, we call it the "dirty kitchen" but it's actually clean. We usually use it when we're going to prepare for grand feasts and/or will have many guests.

Since I was a child, I have always wanted a cozy window seat reading nook where you can put your back to the wall and be inset into the window. I don’t quite have that, but I have two large windows in an L with built in L shaped bench under them, and the bottom of the bench is a bookcase. I’m considering it a dream realized.

My roommate and I had a mini-cupcake griddle thing in our dorm that we cooked so many different things in 😅 cinnamon rolls, egg bites, cornbread, cookies, brownies. People would smell us cooking and come wandering in to steal some 😂

I think chess tables are so useful in the Sims 4 because it’s a good way to build relationship skill and to keep two Sims together without having to micromanage their conversation and make sure they don’t wander off.
if you get a chance, try going to the wild animal park (safari park), too! there aren’t any pandas, but the enclosures are huge and you really get to see the animals in a more natural state. my favorite things there are the africa tram, gardens of the world, and lorikeet landing. if you can’t make it, the zoo is right next to balboa park, which also has a gorgeous rose garden and cactus garden. if you want a great burrito, i love los reyes-about a mile out of downtown, on 25th and broadway. enjoy sd!!
I just looked up the pottery loft beds. They're pretty awesome beds, very expensive, though. The one that I just saw was a little over $3100.00. But an excellent idea, no space is wasted, even with a full-size mattress. Which leaves enough room for other things in a decent size bedroom. But you'll be limited if you have slanted and/or low ceilings. Also, you would need a good air-conditioning system in hot areas of the world. Because heat rises, and you're sleeping near the ceiling. Also, having a ceiling fan might be an issue because you'll be right near the fan. It's definitely a specialty bed for a specialty home that can accommodate it. It's not worth the expense if you can't keep a home that it's perfect for. But, otherwise, it's a very interesting and great bed system, if you have a house that can accommodate it.
Im ngl at my college when I was in the dorms at college we all brought stuff that was 'banned', hell our RA even said if there is ever inspections hide them in your personal tote/storage bc the people who did inspections weren't allowed to touch your personal stuff

It allows you to take grills to university in your inventory, so it probably works with pizza ovens, too. Just make sure your sim takes it again before moving out.

(For the record, I'm French) One of my friend from school used to live in a similar house (old farm house from an old wine domain). His kitchen had been renovated, but his parents kept the "farm ambiance" with the big white sink as we have in Linving Country pack. You could have use this too, it would have been realistic ;) I really love this build. It'd reminded me my childhood/teenage time in this house actually
There is no need to apologize for the cat. I like cats, and the cat is not hurting anyone or getting hurt. People only need to apologize when they hurt someone. The cat actually adds to the quality of the show. At least, this is how I feel about the cat and people.

I absolutely love lilsimsie's eye for detail and designing, and her ability to figure things out. I was trying to put curtains around some double doors that led to a second floor porch. It took me days looking for an answer with no dice. It's really difficult because Maxis didn't create a lot of curtains that go around glass doors. Then I watched one of lilsimsie's videos. She came up with an idea for putting shelves above the doors and adjusting the curtains and shelves, so the shelves looked like a curtain rod. Lilsimsie is really great with building. She really knows the Sims 4 build mode. I also love how she gets her ideas for building. It never dawned upon me to look at houses that are for sale on the internet. I really need to try that. But as lilsimsie says, Maxis didn't give us a lot to work with when it comes to recreating things in the real world, so it's going to be hard for me trying to come up with ways to make it work. But, I've learned a lot from lilsimsie. I'll see? Great job, lilsimsie!
2:41 okay so this is fascinating bc actually most houses aren’t designed to be symmetrical AND this is one reason we love all those pinterest buildings- many of them are symmetrical. but guess what? that’s cuz many of them are generative ai, which knows we like things symmetrical but doesn’t know we generally don’t do that with houses for this very reason- floorplans are difficult like this.
I still think the Sims 4 University restrictions are extremely unrealistic. We had large, shared kitchens with ovens + stoves in every dorm I lived in, and public grills outside (which really aren't hazardous unless you live in a place prone to forest fires). Banning rice cookers as a "fire hazard" is just absolutely ridiculous to me.
With a wafel maker it's almost Polish uniwersity experience ;D Even in the dorms everybody has sandwich maker, and for some it's almost every meal there ;D

after years and years of begging for the pottery barn loftbed, my parents did finally get me one after a few years in a row of perfect grades. It was a dream come true! Until years later when I realized they were right that it would be annoying climbing a ladder to get into bed every night
I wanted a pottery barn bed so bad as a kid, the white finish with the sheets and the desk under it. So my dad made me a bunk bed with lumber from Home Depot. He put a small tv and a bean bag under. Loved it
I still download builds I don’t have packs for, because the game replaces pretty well and I don’t mind redecorating. Sometimes it s structure that’s hard. And I love the computer in the stairs landing. I stand with you need at least one computer.

It's really weird that they ban cooking things in the student housing buildings because I some of the dorms at my university had full kitchens. The 2 person dorms didn't, but the 4/5 person dorms had stoves/ovens and everything. This was in the U.S., too.

The house looks very American to me (a European) and not French. It’s like an American version of what they think french housing looks like, but tbh french housing is much more shabby cheque and older, so also much smaller. The backyards are usually not tiled and private swimming pools are not very common in Europe.
The architectural style is French Colonial, which actually doesn't refer to buildings you would see in Europe. It's a style you find in the rest of the world as the result of French colonization. Also, this build is a dream house, not a realistic French house. It has a pool because Simsie would like a pool.

No but I totally relate to the whole "staring at cool loft beds in catalogs as a kid" thing! I also agree, I do not want a loft bed now though. I did finally get a canopy bed secondhand, that was my other dream and I'm really excited about it!!
omg canopy bed was absolutely my dream im so glad you fulfilled it. my parents made a makeshift one in my sister's room by buying sheer curtains and hanging them from hooks on the ceiling and it was pretty dope

It's really weird that they ban cooking things in the student housing buildings because I some of the dorms at my university had full kitchens. The 2 person dorms didn't, but the 4/5 person dorms had stoves/ovens and everything. This was in the U.S., too.

The house looks very American to me (a European) and not French. It’s like an American version of what they think french housing looks like, but tbh french housing is much more shabby cheque and older, so also much smaller. The backyards are usually not tiled and private swimming pools are not very common in Europe.
The architectural style is French Colonial, which actually doesn't refer to buildings you would see in Europe. It's a style you find in the rest of the world as the result of French colonization.
Also, this build is a dream house, not a realistic French house. It has a pool because Simsie would like a pool.
Did simsie forget why she started building this house? Or did I miss something? She started talking about her dream house to a hypothetical rich family moving in and renovating the place 😂
