You have just seen why Jimi Hendrix is THE God of the Guitar. Nothing else need be said.
Hendrix the greatest guitarist to ever walk the earth... As a black man myself jimi was my whole reason and inspiration to even pick up a guitar 15 years ago. RIP jimi u r greatly missed.
Filmed in Germany, the audience look totally bewildered! You can't watch this without being blown away by the amazing jazz inspired drumming of Mitch Mitchell.
i thought it was a monkees crowd, jimi opened up for them during this time
I'd pay good money to see your reaction to Hendrix playing Wild Thing live at Monterey Pop '67.
RIP JIMI HENDRIX. Amazing reaction bravo my sister and stay safe love u fam
Thanks for watching 💙💙
Try jimi doing castles made of sand , truly the greatest of guitarist born natural no formal training and left a treasure trove of great songs not just playing in a few scant years ,
The look on your face during the solo was priceless lol Check out when he did the star plangled banner at Woodstock its dope af
It's amazing how much he freaked out middle America with his Star Spangled Banner. Just an incredibly ballsy performance.
my dearest sister i'm so proud that you've discovered hendrix and now that you have let me hip you to some more of his gems ; if want to check out more of his hits check out purple haze and fire from are you experienced ,his first album and if you'd like to check out his funkier side check out the tune who knows from the live band of gypsies album and if you wanna check some pretty ballads tunes like electric ladyland title song of the album and may this be love also from are you experienced will chill you out and take you out there ; and if you really want your mind blown check out his performance of the star spangled banner from the woodstock film i can't for your next podcast .
And he was so humble every time they asked about it he said he just played it how he heard it in his head... And yet here we are still chasin that rainbow 50+ years later That's why he's my #1
The lyrics of the song is great ... it only tells a story. Art (music, cinema, etc.) puts us in a place where it makes us "feel" actions, attitudes, circumstances that we can live in our lives or not .. .that is the magic of art. A song or a movie are not life lessons, nor a manual on how to live ... Hendrix is the best of all time.
A lady chooses a Jimi Hendrix song to listen for the first time to understand his art.
Song: about a man who kills his wife.
Me: “oh boy...” 🙈
Don’t get it wrong, girl. Jimi was known for being a gentleman and one of the nicest and most peaceful rock stars ever.
I just couldn't resist. Cheers!
Yes Jimi Hendrix did that incredible talent This was a great reaction and Thanks for sharing 💕💕
+Honi Mama hey boo thanks for watching
I declare we had mirrored reactions! That was amazing in every way with moments of what you say/do all up on the mix.
My favs have been requesting like crazy since they know I love guitarist !! Thank you for watching
He was playing the “G String”
Jimi put a little bit of magic when he played with his tongue. He loved to entertain the crowed like that and to use a guitar sound which blew up your mind. God bless him.
Loved him. As a kid...adored him. Then he overdosed. Damn the 60’s.
So sad he was amazing
Yup! Jimi knew he was the man. The man got the nerve and swagger to be chewing gum while he out there chewing on his guitar.
😂😂 he’s was sooo amazing!! Thanks for watching
Simply K.Simone I’m much older than a lot of y’all. I used to have all of his records..... every body did. Jimi was so cool and composed. The audience...... you have to remember that this was 1967! Ya gotta let that sink in. These people .... while realizing that they just saw something they never even imagined before. Didn’t know what to think. They just dumbfounded.
Sister, as you know, James Marshall Hendrix aka Jimi Hendrix died in 1970. I started listening in the mid 70s. I'm digging on the fact that quite a few millenials are listening to him for the first time. If I had to choose one it would be The Star Spangled Banner live at Woodstock and 2nd would be The Band of Gypsies.
First time Eric Clapton heard Jimi Hendrix play he said: "They told me he was good...they didn't tell me he was so fucking good....".
Hendrix didn't write this song, it's a cover of a supposedly traditional folk song, but was copyrighted in 1962 by Billy Roberts.
True
Tim rose wrote the song.
@@subzero308 No he didn't, he did a cover.
Jimi is the one n only
You must do Jimi Hendrix voodoo child at Woodstock , simply amazing
The Best of all time..Jimi
Yesss
They don’t call em ROCK GODS for nothing honey.... Welcome to the THUNDER DOME!!!!!
2 men enter 1 man leaves/jimi vs clapton.
I would suggest you "Hey Pete" by "Type O Negative" as one of the most original covers for this song. It is also worth listening as part of the whole album, "Slow, deep and hard", which is a story of a girl cheating on his guy broke into several songs.
Castles in the sand you will love it❤
Jimi Hendrix guitar work as as complicated as the lyrics of Bob Dylan
you have to listen to Jimi Hendrix machine gun
The first guitar heroe! Influences in Hard rock and Heavy Metal.
If you want to see a guitar performance that will really leave your mouth hanging open, then check out Jimi Hendrix Woodstock performance of the Star Spangled Banner. Just him and his guitar!
"What kinda talented person"...Lol!!
WOW, that is right, you are in the presence of the top guitar player ever, par none....until today nobody can play guitar as good as Jimmy.
Well, we got a few of his disciples, bros, and kids who carried it on where Jimi left it... Frank Marino (Mahogany Rush) Robin Trower... Ernie Isley... Eddie Hazel & Garry Shider (P-Funk)... Prince... Stevie Ray Vaughn... Carlos Santana... Henry Garza (Los Lonley Boys) Eric Gales.. Jesse Johnson (Morris Day & The Time, D'Angelo & Vaguard) and many more...
Excellent!!! Great job again
Thx
Jimi hendrix voodoo chile, foxy lady, purple haze
4 years was all it took for him to completely revolutionise what it meant to play the electric guitar, what it meant to be a performer, to play loud, to play completely free of his instrument. He paved the way for the rest, Jeff, SRV, etc. He is the foundation and no one will ever be as influential as him. He was such a beautiful musician.
+Martin Bonilla Hi Martin !! I really want to hear more so any suggestions let me know
Agreed💙
God I would never cheat on Jimi😙
At Woodstock, he set his guitar on fire & played it.
Nahh, that was at Monterey Pop in '67 a couple years back... The interesting thing is how after that people kept expecting him to do it and other gimmicks at every show lol But he didn't want to be no jukebox and go even further left even stopped playin the shit that became "hits" in the live sets... No Purple Haze.. No Lemme Stand Next To Your🔥 etc
No he didn't he only set fire to 2 guitars every one was at Monterey pop at the end of wild thing and the other I forget wat the show was. But yeah there was only 2. Woodstock is where he played his Maple fret white strat. He only ever burned a fiesta red strat and a sun burst strat.
Listen "Sunshine of Your Love" with Jimmy Hendrix...
I love Jimi's Foxy Lady (studio version)! Great reaction!
Jimmy Page said Hendrix was the best. I truly feel Hendrix put it down like no other in his time. All along the watch tower is genius. I think page has Hendrix in certain areas but Jimmi Hendrix carried the whole show alone. Amazing
Agree. Jimi was the man but Page was no slouch either. He definitely had Jimi beat in some areas. I like them both plus Stevie Ray.
Well when you think Page you gotta think how his style fit Zeppelin as a band because they always had so many layers and moving parts all the... Jimi no matter what he and Eddie K cooked up in the studio by time you saw his live thing you knew it came back to was straight up modern day blues
Hey sis! I love Jimi Hendrix!
Fire....wind cries Mary...isolation
The thing to understand about Jimi that many miss is that way beyond his gear, a lot of his showmanship (playin behind his back, leg, with teeth) and touch came from all the blues cats he and lot of us are still chasin like Chuck Berry, Buddy Guy, T Bone Walker, Muddy Waters, Albert Collins (The Iceman), Albert King & B.B. King etc etc ...But if you really wanna feel what he and his axe can do.... Machine Gun+Power Of Soul (Band Of Gypsys w Buddy Miles) Red House... Room Full Of Mirrors.. Gypsy Eyes.. If 6 Was 9... Hear My Train A Comin... All Along The Watchtower... 😌🙃☄️ 🎸 🔥🔥🔥
From an era when the guitar gods strode across the Earth.
he broke his pinky finger too make unick sounds like no other !!
Wow
He was actually plucking the guitar strings with is teeth when he was flicking his tounge it was just for effect at that point he was doing what is called hammer ons and hammer offs with his fret hand it is absolutely an amazing performance effect tho one of my personal all time favorites I've always love Hendrix
Yesss !!! Amazing💙
Hair looking amazing!!! 🌺🌺
Thank you for watching
hey joe lyrics come from a traditional blues song around for years b4 btw
He did the solo with his teeth the tounge was just for effect at that point he was doing hammer ons and hammer offs which is done with his right hand lol nice effect tho
"Red House" by Jimi Hendrix
SRV behind his back guitar GOD..SRV
Jimi Hendrix, one of the best to ever do it. There was only one other guitarist that could match him
Srv
Yesss !!! Amazing💙
no on of the best, he is the best.
Al Maysri Jimmy Page is the best
Hey Boo tuned in
+Honi Mama enjoy
SKS ..... 'Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower' .... is awesome as well :) :)
I enjoy seeing you young timers enjoying and being dazzled by songs from nana's generation.
Thank you so much and thank you so much for watching I really enjoyed
lmaooo yes Jimiiii! Jimi Jimi Jimiiiiiii! :) so, cool story about this song is that it is a cover. Jimi had been covering it before he hit it big, in fact when the man that would end up as his manager happened to be looking for a new act to manage he was specifically looking for someone to cover this song! When he saw Jimi playing this in the club he knew he would be a hit! It was and set Jimi off on the legendary 4 years we are all grateful for. Another cool thing, iirc it was Linda McCartney, then Eastmen, who had been with Jimi in New York away from Paul and set up the meeting with Chas Chandler, former bassist of the Animals (House of the Rising Sun), and then Chas signed him. In fact, Linda had set up several meetings like this before Chas and they all passed on Jimi, including the managers for the Beatles and Rolling Stones, iirc. They all tried to get him once he got to England, Chas was English and took Jimi there to start the band, that's why the other fellas are so...English looking lol, but Jimi stuck with Chas until the 3rd album. He got his start there with this song and the rest is history. Keep effing up this Jimi rabbit hole! Machine Gun ua-cam.com/video/H2cjMjJaEzA/v-deo.html (best thing he ever played, there is video but not on YT most likely), Purple Haze (live at Atlanta) ua-cam.com/video/cJunCsrhJjg/v-deo.html , Hear my train a comin ua-cam.com/video/myifiXG1WUA/v-deo.html (acoustic version has a video ua-cam.com/video/P701paKEMXs/v-deo.html), national anthem at woodstock: ua-cam.com/video/MwIymq0iTsw/v-deo.html. There is so much more but these are a good start into why he is the greatest and the music never gets old lmao. There is no one better. There is a whole universe of emotions and landscapes in the nuance of his playing that goes beyond hammering out notes precisely. Eveything is intentional and meant to invoke a feeling. Get up in there :)
+Clayton Paul Thank You So Much !! I'll check it out 💙💙
Thanks Clayton 💙
@@SimplyKSimone hell ya lol .oh and on your own check out pali gap and hey baby too. Great tunes. Won't regret it. :)
The basics of the song Hey Joe is about adultery not about Jimi Hendrix lifestyle
I think this performance was in Sweden, which might explain the somewhat stiff and cold reaction to this incredible performance.
Going down shoot my ole lady caught her messin around with nother man, drugs in world of rock yup he's playing with his teeth lol awesome reaction
Check out purple haze
All along the watchtower
There are three African Americans that were in my life time that blew my mind. MLK, ALI AND HENDRIX
yassssss
The Monterey Pop version is the best
Only if he had lived on, I would be on the other side of the galaxy without using a space ship.
SKS If you haven't listened JH's "Little Wing" please give it a listen...
@ more by Jimi..All Along the Watchtower...and Machinegun
Watch tower always gets blocked ive tried
Great but in a festival setting... Tight!!!play this cut... Jimi Hendrix Monterey Pop Festival 1967 “Hey Joe “......or....Woodstock ....1969...Star Spangle Banner!

You really need check Jimi's studio version of the song if you haven't already Simone, the backing vocals ,the harmonies really transform the studio version . ua-cam.com/video/rXwMrBb2x1Q/v-deo.html

Thank You So Much !! I'll check it out 💙💙
Finally! 👍 😀
Enjoy !!
You're adorable...you really need to listen to All Along the Watchtower...you'll probably cry!❤👍
Played the guitar left handed
Look at the guitar
I heard Jimi once opened for 'The Monkees', I wonder if this is that show. I don't know.
Hey opened for the Monkeys and got booed but they were little girls. Jim's music was way too much for them
The Monkees were bigger than Jimi Hendrix Experience at that point. So it's not shocking.
all along the watchtower Atlanta pop festival
Thx
The Star Spangeled Banner by Jimi Hendrix. Make sure you pick the right one.
Woodstock.
This is the 60’s.
Thought so thanks so much
He’s was not the first one to play guitar behind they back and play with there teeth T-bone Walker did all of that
He was literally doing guitar licks.
Lol 😂
Ciao Simply.
He is also holding it upside down....he's a lefty
That is even more amazing
"All along the watch tower" would be good follow-up song if you don't know it yet 🙂🤘
I recorded that one and UA-cam blocked out
@@SimplyKSimone ok, no worries 🙂🤘
You should reveiew all allong the watchtower
Yes he was killing that guitar! Great review...not sure I'm feeling him talking about killing folks but he is talented.
Jill’s Comfort Zone he didn’t write the song. It was covered by a lot of people.
Exactly💙
@@sukie584 Oh okay...
Another good guitar player is Johnny Lang try match box
Play foxy lady hendrix I 66 I still dig hendrix
SALUTE
He was pre-PC. He was a great talent both singing and playing. I think the drugs helped. Too bad they took him in the end. Too young gone.
He didn't write this song.
@@betsyduane3461 I didn't say he wrote it Lots of people sing or play songs written by someone else. That's called a cover. I meant that he did not shy away from songs that during that era would be considered inappropriate.
Hendrix was great and so was Stevie ray Vaughan.
Yesss I love Stevie
@@SimplyKSimone Add Ernie Isley, Carlos Santana, Eddie Hazel (P Funk) Jesse Johnson (Morris Day & The Time).... As for the girls Teena Marie did a lot more shredding around her 80's Lovergirl & Emerald City albums.. And Cheryl Cooley Of Klymaxx is still slept on and dangerous 😁
I wonder if Jimmy doesn't eat guitars for breakfast
Yes supergroup had weekly gig
Change of warm Up band bass and Drummer warmed Up. Yes were not impressed.
Before start they looked Out what THE Fuck? There is Brittans stars Pete Townsent, Steve Winwood, Jimmy Page
Then Hendrix Started playing......
Don't get bent out of shape. Jimi did not write that song. I saw him live and it was truly an EXPERIENCE!
Lol OK
He is considered the greatest for a reason. There may be more guitarists who are technically better, but no one played it as if it was a natural extension of his body quite like Jimi, not in the rock era, . Not even Stevie Ray Vaughan, cause I know the Stevie boys are going to say he did. No, he didn’t. Not a lot of great live Jimi videos on YT. Miami Pop festival videos are good, not great. But I think you would like a Purple Haze..
Thank You So Much !! I'll check it out 💙💙
What do You think to that? Awesome, 🙄
He was not bing crosby
Nope he's not
This tune is not #Metoo certified..... lol
1966
Thx 😊
