Feel lucky to have a bottle of this - still unopened - so happy to hear your review! I paid $299.99 several years ago - wish I had gotten 2 or 3 bottles!
Cadenhead is the oldest Independent Bottler, always non-chilled and natural color. I have the Linkwood 26 and its fantastic. Hopefully I can come across the HP 26. Great review.
Is there any OB highland park bottle this good?If so wich one? Thank you! I would like to get a bottle that scores a 90. These here are impossible to get at this point. I am thinking about the Dark or 25 at 45.7 percent. Would you say the Highland Park 25 is better then the Laphroig 25? Are there other alternatives that are more available?
I haven't had an OB that I'd put over this. I think you're getting into the 30 year or higher age stated stuff to compare. Dark isn't close at all. The old 45.7 HP 25, mike and I have a review comparing that to an older release, but I think the 25 is in the 90 area. I'll take the laphroiag 25 pretty easily over HP 25, but they're pretty different whiskies.
@@topshelfdustin3060 thank you very much for you’re answer. Yes im looking for a 20 plus year old that just blows you away and with that old honey note you are describing here preferably a highland park. I loved the 18 and I look for somthing like that but better. Basically a HP that is at that 90 range. With funk. And peat. I could get the Highland Park 25 at 45,7. (The Laphroig 25, Glengoyne 25, Talisker 25 CS, Kavalan, Springbank 21 are all dream bottles ofcource.) What else could you recommend?I’m definitely wanting highland park. Are they going to release new batches of these soon? But anyway I wanted to thank you both for doing this Chanel you are great I learn much from you both. We all are on a whisky journey. I wished I could find one of these Cadenhead Sherry ones.
@@jonahartistdavis1858 I mean if you want HP, the 25 you mentioned is worth getting for the right price. I've seen one recently for about 550. The problem is there is a new 25, it's 46%, but the price as sky rocketed and the reviews are worse. We're sadly in a world of prices rising faster than any of us can keep up. That said, insider comment, Kavalan single cask PORT barrels can be found over seas for under 200, and they're not far off that dream bottle of kavalan mike and I reviewed. Get one! And maybe an HP 25 45.7, it's a 90ish score whisky for us still I think. But this was better.
@@topshelfdustin3060 yes it is a sad trend I am seeing. How long will this go on? I am sad that I was not a enthusiast 17 years ago. Wow thanks for that great recommendation. Wich port Soloist is that I saw one in green and one in brown. I would like to give you a tip also Aberfeldy distillery brings out a new 21 next month called Old Torn Flag it’s going to be available only on thier website it’s at a nice 48 percent and finished in unique wine cask. I tried it at the distillery and it really tasted incredible like really nice. I would like to make a buy next list going like this I think…..HP 25, Aberfeldy 21 Old torn Flag, a Kavalan, Bunnahabein 18,….. have a nice evening Dustin! Cheers Mike
Mike ... though commenting first time in your channel.. but have been following for a while now .. and really really appreciate the in depth honest analysis you and Dustin give .. bought several bottles based on your reviews .. right on the money every time ... you are perhaps the most trustworthy channel along with Aquavite (Roy) and Ralfy .. among the million exists today 😀.. will appreciate if you could do Tomatin 30 years 2020 release..
I appreciate the kind words! Like to hear what some of the bottles you decided on based on previous reviews. I’m guessing Highland Park? Tomatin 30 would be a nice one to have. A few people have spoken highly of this one. I’ll see what I can do 😉 Thanks for commenting!

You guys never talk sulfur, at least I can't remember. Good casks; no sulfur. What happened to the fruit notes, this went right into chocolate? I usually like a sherried whisky to transition from the fruity pallet to a chocolate finish. Have you gotten a a chance to try the Tobermory 21 Manzanilla?
There may have been some sulfur in the nose when first opened but basically undetectable by the time we reviewed. But that’s a good point. I will get sulfur on Oloroso matured malts from time to time... Not a lot of fruits on this one that come to mind. This was a unique malt.
I don't think we're too sensitive to sulfur so it doesn't come up much. We do bring it up on some of the craigellachie bottles and might have on the longrow 14 (been a while since I saw us review it).
It's the kintyre peninsula and Campbelltown is the city. Excellent review gentleman!!
evening brother
Great review as always. I have toured HP many times and perhaps all those warehouses full of casks that I saw are maturing Irn bru!!
I bet that was a beautiful site. I hope someday I will be able to visit.

That's a great price. Only around 400 bottles if I'm not mistaken. Where did you find yours?

@@intothefeints8506 A little out of my way. But thanks anyways.

Some great HP’s outside the core range that are worth your time.
