- What an absolutely beast of a card!!! So far I have had zero issues with the drivers and gaming has been a blast. I currently have both PBO/SAM enabled and this AMD build is nuts. My first AMD products and I couldn't be happier
#AMD #6900xt #unboxing #reddevil #reddevilultimate
Great Build , I got Powercolor Red Devil 6950 XT graphics card, coupled with a 7800X3D processor and a 750-watt power supply unit.
very nice CPU/GPU combo!! Im curious how that power supply will hold up though. I kept getting wattman errors until I upgraded my 850w to a 1000w
Same but with 1000 watt psu
fans wont spin until the GPU gets hot enough in temp.
This is what happens when people don't read the manual or even the product page, where it clearly says this GPU comes with "Mute Fan Technology intelligently turns off the fan below 60℃."
@@bobbymoss6160 this guy doesnt seem to know much about anything so im not surprised he was shocked about the fans not spinning up, his cable managament is horrible and he almost broke a fan just starting the gpu up for the first time.
the gpu support bracket goes in the back right corner ... you want the power color emblem to stick out towards the front of your computer with the bracket arm holding the back right of the card
thank you, last week I ended up moving it to that position. It looks immensely better now.
I just got my 6900 from the AMD store BY SHEER LUCK!! Tried it for MONTHS!
congrats!! its an absolute beast of a gpu!
i had the rx 6700 xt red devil version of this card was superb, now got myself a 3090, it reminded me of laurel n hardy trying to fit it
What is better for you AMD's card or NVIDIA's card?
@@alexlaredo9713 the 3090 i have is obviously going to be better than my previous rx 6700 xt, but i loved my red devil and dont have a bad word to say about amd cards, but if it was my own money i was spending id go for nvidia every time
@@AndyUTB nvidia is litterally a scam now.
i know that its not allways possible, but try to connect 3 gpu cable, Not two cable with the "doble" conector. Its better for the gpu and for coil whine.
I was actually wondering if I should do that. Was worried too much power was being pulled through that one cable. I'll swap it out later today, thank you
@@slickframes There are some videos talking about it and said +-150w per cable. So, if you dont want to "unlock" the card, maybe is enough.. but i think is much better change it if you can. cheers
Where can I buy three separate ones? My Corsair psu has 1 pcie that has 2 8 pin connectors and need one more 8 pin but I don’t know where to get a single one
@@valleykid298 my EVGA PSU came with everything. Ended up having the exact number of 8 pins I needed
@@valleykid298 Do not mix and match, they are not all the same. You could actually brick your whole PC with the wrong cables even if it looks and is called the same
I was having a hard time telling if it was fully in or not lol card is so big and i love it
lol ya its an absolute beast!
Congratulations 🎉 amazing GPU. I have Rx 6800 XT and my kids are not complaining 😂 so should be good
Good to see team 6900xt. I have the Asrock OC Formula 6900xt. This thing is a beast and requires a 1000w psu min.
No it doesnt amd recomends it abut minimum you can use with is a psu thats like 700w use a psu calculator ul see those recomendations are never trye
@@cinitax bruh shut it. i have the card and it said it recommends a 1000w min power supply. say what you want but the box saids and the Asrock site. clown
Same boat also, I'm going from a 980ti to the Tuf 6900xt.
that is going to be a massive jump in performance! enjoy it! I honestly thought the 1080ti was still a beast until I installed this card lol
I'm suprised that 1080ti blower style survived this long. Good luck with the new one.
Ya, the 1080ti is sitting in my old pc as a backup. The 6900xt has been an absolute monster though. Maxed out 1440p gaming with well over 100 fps, loving it.
My 1070fe with the same blower is still Alive as well
the fans dont kick in until the load they do work
I have this card but I have the rx6750xt..so sick
nice video mate i hope you enjoy the 6900xt
thank you! so far its an absolute beast!
Im in the same boat as you picked up a nitro+ 6900xt se about a week ago for msrp. But I’m starting to have buyers remorse because i know 7000 series from amd and 4000 from nvidia are not too far off. I started a dream build about a year ago (right at the worst possible time) and got everything but a gpu. 5950x, Asus crosshair viii hero mb, 64gb 3600mhz cl14 ram, kracken x72 cooler, 2 x 1tb nvme drives, 8tb hd, evega p2 750 watt psu which I already had. And I know most aftermarket 6900xt’s recommended 850 watts I’m sure most quality 750’s should be fine. Hows the coil whine I’ve seen a couple that had some? I hadn’t opened mine yet still debating on sending it back but it’s taking a lot of willpower not to open it. Hell it’s not like my strix 2080ti was lacking in performance just wanted a new top tier card.
There is a very small amount of coil whine at max load, but its not noticeable unless you listen hard for it. I'm so used to my insanely loud blower 1080ti lol. Ya I thought about the new tech coming out, but honestly the current generation came out over a year ago and they are still insanely hard to get. not to mention expensive. Cant imagine how the release of these new cards is going to go.
Never get Buyer's remorse. I got an MSI Gaming Z Trio and it's a beast - 260 fps on Warzone Rebirth at 1440p, high settings.
Just think realistically the 7000 cards will come out in September / October, but be sold out or as expensive as they are now. I think this is the new trend...
Then we can get 7900 XT's in mid 2023 : )
@@francescosorci5595 260fps yeah right
@@thebeast-zf6jb ??? I get between 170 and 210 fps in Caldera. Rebirth sits around 260 most areas of the map..
@@francescosorci5595 i know i yes playing around is a great graphic card i have one red devil rx6900xt
Hey brother i have the 6950xt red devil and I’ve been using it without that support bracket that you put on the front end of it for about a year now. I do have some SAG but is it anything that I need to worry about? I just didn’t use it because I thought it looked kind of ugly. What is your personal opinion?
Its really up to you. personally I'd rather have an ugly support bracket then a broken GPU or motherboard.
Don't know if you know, but you aren't supposed to use pigtail method on PSU cables-use separate cables on the GPU
ya, I have since added a third cable. I also upgraded from an 850w to a 1000w to meet the recommended 900w for this card. Pretty crazy tbh
@@slickframes Good! I gave my brother my 6900 XT Red Devil and got a 7900 XTX Red Devil-I probably regret it because it's not much of a gain in performance.
@@jimmylim5015 congrats on the new GPU! ya I'm skipping this generation as the uplift just doesn't justify it for me.
@@slickframes yeah I regret upgrading, it was just unnecessary
in 1440 maybe but the difference seems huge in 4k no ?
I can’t decide between red devil 6800xt of the 6900xt
performance wise they are very similar. The only reason I got the 6900xt is because it was on sale for only $100 dollars more than the 6800xt. They are both absolute beasts
For gaming the 6900 is better all the way
I'd recommend the 6800XT over the 6900XT, IF you can get it at a price close to MSRP
The fans won’t spin until I run a program
Ur using the same cpu I had with the 1080ti? It will bottleneck..u need new cpu
ya, it was a pretty solid build for its time. The CPU was def holding back my GPU in some games. The crazy thing is, even my 5950x bottlenecks my 6900xt in some games.
Hey, what is this case you use in the video?
my case is the Corsair 5000D Airflow white version. Its has enough room for two 360mm rads! planning on doing a full water loop eventually in this case
you need to update the card in amd website
why did you have to drill a hole in the 1080 ti?
stripped a screw when trying to replace the thermal paste. They were extremely tight, and I had never done it since buying the card. Made a huge difference in temps
What psu are you using I have asus rog tor 850 platinum and don't know if I need more power
I had the EVGA 850 supernova G5 but it wasnt enough to handle this card. I ended up upgrading to the rog strix 1000G.
Does it matter which port you put the solo 8 pin power cable? I have mine in far right and you have opposite.
it does not matter, although I now use three 8 pins instead of one being daisy chained.
@@slickframes one more question. If my psu came with 2 daisy chain and 1 regular 8. I know it’s bulkier but can I used 2 daisy chain and the 8 pin. Or do I need to order two separate 8 pins?
PS. I ordered same case and psu lol
@@chrisdavis273 you can absolutely use the two daisy chains, it will work just the same as a normal 8 pin
@@slickframes thank you !
@@chrisdavis273 anytime, enjoy your beast GPU!!!!
fans dont spin below 50 deg celcius
Did you Uninstaller old drivers first then install new drivers after you install card
I ended up doing that and removing the nvidia drivers after having issues with black screens. Card has been running amazing since. Only issue I have is my OC gets reset every time I boot the PC. Not too big of a deal though as it takes a few seconds to redo it.
quick question, how's the coil whine, if any, with this card? it's a beefy powerful card, but how about any con's with it? thanks.
the coil whine is only audible when the card is under heavy load. If you wear a headset like myself you wont hear anything. If you do not, then it is pretty noticeable. More noticeable than the fans, which are very quiet compared to my old 1080ti. Another major con, which I believe will happen with any Radeon card, is if you enable enhanced sync you will get random black screening. thankfully it just takes a few seconds to switch it off, and I've had no issues since.
@@slickframes oh hey, i'm coming from 1080ti myself. i'm planning on getting a 6900xt myself, but haven't decided which aib to go with. i have heard about coil whine and temperature. honestly i'm a bit worried, but i really would like to give amd a try.
@@cynicaldudeMe This card runs much cooler than my 1080ti did, but that's largely due to the Alienware thermos from hell I had it in lol. Coil whine would be a deal breaker for me if I didn't wear a headset. Other than that, I am very happy with AMD. Enabling Smart Access Memory also gets you a sizable performance boost. Both amd and nvidia are great, just gotta get what makes you happy.
@@slickframes i'm using msi twin frozr 1080ti, pretty cool temperature-wise. now you are scaring me with the coil whine. i'm gonna spend days googling "how to get rid of gpu coil whine".......
this dude is so oblivious
which psu do you have?
at the time of this video, I had the EVGA G3 850w PSU. It ended up dying due to the random power spikes of the 6900xt. Upgraded to a ROG 1000w PSU and had no issues after that.
@@slickframes lol. I want that gpu but i have a ROG 850w psu. But i'm not sure 😭
@@pheonixDD I learned the hard way to follow the recommendations on the gpu box. This specific one requires at least a 900w psu due to the random voltage jumps. Other brand 6900xt’s might requires less, not sure though
@@slickframes yea others 6900xt requieres 850. one more question at the time of the video wich cpu did you have?
@@pheonixDD I am still using the same CPU, its a 5950x. absolutely amazing for everything from editing/rendering/gaming and just about any workload task. Have had no issues with it, and thats with non stop use and abuse
Do you need a support bracket
This card is massive, and has a bit of sag. I personally would not use it without a bracket.
Do you really need that cable for the rgb? I have the 6950xt
It's too big. What a big video card.
ya, all the new cards are massive lol was pretty shocked
@@slickframes they called me crazy when I got that Thor v2 well have fun stuffing that in your micro atx box lol
Thats what she said ....
