Good for Carlson & Kid Rock for bringing this to the public. I too had a "old" home - but not as historic. Built in the early 1860s (1862) and added onto. Only 2 families ever owned the home & property up until 2003 when I sold it. A 3rd generation member of the first family became a pitcher for NY Yankees and Detroit Tigers. I had to fight City Hall that wanted to condemn the property simply to widen a 2 lane, 3 mile long city road that had no fewer than 5 schools and 6 churches along it / or close enough that children had to cross the 2 lane street (home was surrounded by a subdivision). I won.
I remember seeing this home in one of Faith Hills albums and then she interviewed it afterwards loving the home her kids grew up there . I can’t imagine as a mother who had this house and the history she’d allow it . The home is featured in her greatest hits album 2007 . I give Kid Rock more props .
Unfortunately Faith and Tim are giant libs... Apparently they couldn't care less about it since they didn't bring the issue to light. They probably would have made a "such a shame..." Statement once the house was gone!
Me and my family used to live in a two-story house, back when I was a kid the house was over 120 years old one of the first houses built on the hill, I sold it to a good friend of mine a lot cheaper than what I could have got out of it, but this man totally restored this house, and put it back in shape, I was so proud to see the house redone, it's not about money all the time, sometimes it's about the object, just thought I would share this little story with people,
The opposite happened to my grandfather's house. It was built 1890. Two story, 4 fireplaces, still operating indoor hand pump water well. Torn down for a industrial park on the original 640 acres.
I for the record am a lover of history and want to see this house saved but my question is if there wasn't a political angle to this would Tucker Carlson and Kid Rock still want to preserve this house? Like for instance if there was a house built in the 1850s that wasn't tied to slavery and a republican politician who was funded by dark money from a corporate conglomerate housing development company that approved demolition would they still have this same passion? @@RF-vg5kvSpeaking of thinking --- if you really thought this through, you would have balked when KR blamed this on liberals. The guy who bought this is a fund manager. Just because he's from California, that doesn't make him a liberal. There are still plenty of conservatives who live in Cal, and I have yet to see a fund manager who is a liberal. This guy bought this property for the express purpose of turning a profit -- something that all conservatives generally approve of (you know, profits before people and before the common good). The fact that KR blamed this on liberals and the fact that you swallowed the BS of his wrongful conclusion shows that you are not thinking, you are merely reacting. I am a liberal. I happen to like Hank Williams' music, and I am very much in favor of keeping that house intact and making it something of a shrine. This is NOT a liberal/conservative issue. This is simply what capitalism does when it goes unchecked. And conservatives never seem to realize that until it affects them personally.
My late wife taught me how to two step to Hank Williams music. Every time I hear his music I think of her. The thought of this historical building being torn down sickens me.
The guy who bought this is a fund manager, and his intention is not necessarily to tear down history; it is simply to turn a profit. I thought that was the kind of thing that conservatives applauded -- profits before people, before the common good, and even before the preservation of history. So stop complaining. And stop trying to make this a liberal/conservative issue. Fund managers are the quintessential capitalists, and therefor conservative. Trish, Hank Williams never lived in that house. He owned it from Oct 1951 to Nov 1952. It was rundown then. Apparently Hank wanted to repair/restore it and live in it. Unfortunately, he fell/was thrown from a horse and aggravated an old injury. He was forced to sell the property 13 months after he purchased it. Two months after that, he died of heart failure on the way to a New Year’s Day concert. He wasn’t born there. He wasn’t raised there. He never lived there. Larry Keele, “the hedge fund manager from California” and current owner of Beechwood Hall and property, isn’t from California. He was born and raised in Lewisburg, TN. He is working with The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County to restore and preserve Beechwood Hall. Mr. Keele has already placed more than 350 acres of the land in The Land Trust for Tennessee. As for Tucker Carlson and Kid Rock and the false information they’re spreading around... It took me less time on the internet to find and confirm the information I just shared with you than it’s taken me to write these comments. Tucker Carlson and Kid Rock could have done the same thing before they started bad-mouthing Mr. Keele, but that wouldn’t make a very good Tucker Carlson Story: “When misinformation gets people riled up and fighting mad, don’t let the truth get in the way.” (By the way, Tucker Carlson IS from California.)

Kid Rock and Tucker Carlson say: “Californian is buying Hank Williams’s antebellum home just to tear it down.” The buyer is not a Californian. It’s not Hank Williams’ home. The buyer is not going to tear it down. KR and TC say: Tearing down the house would be an attack on Country music and America. It’s already been established that the buyer is NOT going to tear it down, but wants to preserve it for its historic and architectural value. So why are they attacking him? There are two choices: either 1) they don’t know that’s what he plans to do or 2) they do know that’s what he plans to do. In the first case, they’re ignorant; in the second case, they’re lying. It doesn’t matter whether they’re ignorant or lying, the facts are that they’re spreading false information and slandering a good man. You say you think for yourself and develop your own opinions. Kid Rock deserves a big thank you for everything he's been doing. It's obvious that he has very good integrity. And cares deeply for this great country. Most of us don't have a very loud voice. He does. Thank you Kid Rock.
then why didnt he buy it and restore it?
I hear your voice Mike and agree 100%. This is a great country and I, we care just as deeply about our country. While some of us don't necessarily have as much resources as Kid Rock we do understand our word is our bond and our handshake is our integrity. That said when someone tries to weasel out of said deal all bets are off and the fight is on.
Holding a building responsible for past bs is ridiculous

Like I said, Kid Rock is a loser and an embarrassment to our nation! If you think he's someone we should look up to, you are an idiot and need your head examined! Please, leave your citizenship card at the door on your way out! WE don't need or want you people in OUR country!

Hank Williams took country music to the mainstream. His songs crossed over from the country charts and charted in popular music. It is not unusual to hear his music in movies and commercials. He was not the father of country music. Many came before, Jimmy Rodgers comes to mind.
I completely agree. Graceland is a museum so why not this home? He was like the King of country music. It should be preserved and open to the public for all to learn and enjoy and remember.

I won.

As a lover of History this just seems fake forced and contrived and then they wouldn't care less about most history they just see the political angle they can take
@@PBRSUPERSTAR No, they wouldn't be and we know this because there are houses exactly as you described that sit in disrepair.

Gotta be honest I've never been a big Kid Rock fan but I respect that he cares about American heritage. Hats off to ya.
I agree. "Lonely Road of Faith" is one of the best songs ever recorded though. I may not care for much of his music, but he's not some untalented hack.
Lmao
Well Pilgrim you too deserve culture and class you should explore Kid Rock's music unless you're not an American Christian Patriot!
True
I’m no fan of him or Carlson, but they aren’t wrong here. Hank Williams’ house should be an effing museum. I would have assumed it was if I hadn’t stumbled onto this video.
Not just that, but Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are important musicians in their own right and the fact that they lived there might not be important to anyone today, but it will be in the future.
Hank Williams wasn’t just “some guy”, he contributed to American culture in a significant way.
Anything he ever had should be preserved if possible to give future generations a chance to connect with him.
Bums me out when something culturally significant is discarded.
I was adopted at 5 from a not so good background and remember my Dad who adopted had these albums and I grabbed the first one I saw and played it. It was Your cheatn heart from Hank himself. Ive been a fan since and was sad to hear that this voice had passed away long before I was born. This man is an icon and legend to not just country music but all music. If folks from the nation, specifically country artists do not come to defend this historic home then they’re a bunch of cowards.
I’ve listened to country and bluegrass since being a small child but recently since I hit 40 I’ve been listening to old country form the 20-30’s to the 70’s and it’s way better then most modern music. Don’t get me wrong I still live Alan Jackson and Garth and so forth but older country just has more sole to it. Hopefully some country artist will come Together to help save this history

That's because country music has gotten so sorry from the mid to late 90s to current that the REAL TRUE country singers are no longer because they just didn't get the air

There is plenty of incredible country and folk music coming up even now. Of course you will never hear it on the radio. Anyone expecting the radio to play anything aside from pop music is an idiot.
And that's why I love Kid Rock
Tucker, you've made a real difference in the news we get to see and your choice of guests makes real impact. Hank Williams is iconic and we've lost way too much of our history already. Thanks to Kid Rock for bringing this out in the open.
@Daphne Van Zant Thanks for repeatedly putting this comment on different threads. Most who watch this tripe won't actually read the the factual aspects of this situation. Not only did Williams not live there but Faith Hill and Tim Mcgraw didn't live in the house either. Williams only owned the property for around thirteen months. Beyond that, the current owner has stated that the house is in no imminent threat of destruction.
@Daphne Van Zant You're preaching to the choir about the needed ongoing maintenance of houses. I've been working in the housing and construction trades industry for over thirty years. Typically, if looks bad on the surface, it's quite probable that it's worse below the surface. I love history and architecture, as I have designed and drafted several houses, yet I wonder how feasible this restoration would be. I would love to walk through that house.

@@Not-the-usual-BS yeah okay cuz I'm sure the people that are wanting to tear this house down are woke. No they are a corporate conglomerate that want to make money. And as far as Tucker goes it's 100% purely political. Again I asked you would either of these guys care if it was a house that was built in the 1850s that was not a plantation house. You know they would not
Kid Rock is not afraid to speak his mind, and that's just one of the things I luv about him. Good on you Bobby.
He doesn't actually care. He is just grasping for relevance. And failing.
hey 👋
I’ve been in that house multiple times. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill owned the property, but never lived in it. They mostly used it for storage of tour equipment and for various photo shoots/get together’s.
Just based on the fact that it made it through the Civil War should save it… Hank owning it and the adjacent properties should be a cherry on top.
So what .... It has post n beam construction and an eliptical staircase. It would make a good music 🎵🎶 museum
So why did Tim and Faith sell it to this company if they knew it would be torn down?
They didn't own it. They are owned by the American music industry . The studios owned it. Stop ppl.

Trish,
Hank Williams never lived in that house.
Keele, but that wouldn’t make a very good Tucker Carlson Story: “When misinformation gets people riled up and fighting mad, don’t let the truth get in the way.”
(By the way, Tucker Carlson IS from California.)
@@4y6857 uh no way I will never
Turn on Tucker Carlson or Kid Rock. Kid rock is just not music. He uses his platform for the truth. I don’t care where no one I from. I think for myself. Develop opinions myself and was raised in Tennessee. Enough said. Have a good day.
Oh and my brother serves in the Marines based in California.
@@trish9900
Trish,
I detect either confusion, contradiction, or both in your posts. After being shown that Tucker and Kid are spreading false information and slandering a good man, you assert that Kid Rock “uses his platform for the truth.” Let’s see...
Kid Rock and Tucker Carlson say:
“Californian is buying Hank Williams’s antebellum home just to tear it down.”
The buyer is not a Californian.
It’s not Hank Williams’ home.
The buyer is not going to tear it down.
KR and TC say:
Tearing down the house would be an attack on Country music and America.
Here’s your opportunity to prove that.
Hangin' with you TUCKER!! & always with the KID!! ❤🎉
That’s how they’re able to change history, by making it disappear. Then it’s only by someone’s memory or words and those change over time. Thanks Kid Rock for keeping it real.
No one has “forgot” anything, it’s a terrible and embarrassing past, and anyone of minimal intelligence understands this. Keeping and glorifying monuments to traitors is just ridiculously stupid.
@@michigunsanta8680 Generally speaking. That’s how you remove history. No need to throw out insults to anyone’s intelligence.
How about carving faces on mountain sides, building oil pipelines through historic graveyards, bull dozing archeological sites and turning former slave quarters in to air b&b’s?
“The country has lost so much of our history. How about, no more. “
Exactly! Then even those memories die with the people.
