In my opinion Sara Mingardo sings with the best emotional balance and shows more thoughtful approach which corresponds the music and the text of the aria. Other performances are quite pleasant but super fast tempos and excessive emotions (sometimes they look like some kind of hysteria) break the idea of this aria (IMHO). But anyway I respect and appreciate all these singers who deliver fine art of baroque opera for modern audience. Today everyone can find his favourite performance and this is beautiful. But I say my special kudos to Sara Mingardo.
They all sang it well and of course have beautiful voices, so it kind of becomes personal preference. For me, the contraltos sounded better than the countertenors; therefore, 1. Mingardo (best interpretation), 2. Stutzman, 3. Cencic, 4. Jaroussky.
With Sara Mingardo I really feel the baroque spirit and I seem to listen to the piece in a European theater of the early eighteenth century. Fantastic!!
Mingardo has this effortless, restrained elegance to her rendition while Stutzmann sounds a bit overblown to my layman's ear. I also like Cencic's vivid and fresh version.

Sara Mingardo's voice is my favourite, Cencic is a close second only because i find the pace of the music was slightly too fast. Ensemble Matheus sound is superb! I would like to hear both Mingardo and Cencic with Ensemble Matheus
It depends on what you want. This is aria for contralto and the piece conveys its features and identity. M-le Stutzmann is the only real contralto among these vocalists. Besides, Jaroussky and Cencic aren't the best countertenors despite of their popularity: they're too weak and falcetto

Sara Mingardo is a real contralto with a much more beautiful voice than Stutzmann. Mingardo has heat, much more fitting for the aria.
