The great '98 tour :) You were lucky if King Dave & the boys played The Last Stop. I've been lucky to have seen them play TLS 3 times 😎. One of them being this one! Effin powerful, epic, and a lovely ending as always to this master piece. They were on fire that night! Definitely a killer show! Thanks Chester for the love and sharing these rare live shows. So glad I was able to have taped them that night. Love this Band.
I’ve been to 77 DMB and Dave and Tim shows since 1995. This show is by far the best I’ve ever seen basically because of the encore. The PBS special was also incredible. The production was perf3ct. Actually sat directly behind the stage which typically would suck but Dave turns around so much. Didn’t miss a thing. Listener Supported is one of the most underrated shows ever.
copperpot,...you have officially made my life that much better. Cant get through a day without jammin to a full dmb show (headphones plugged into laptop...going about the monotony of that thing they call work). i was 19, hopped on a nj transit train into the city to see my fav band play. My band was playin at the Garden... the mecca,....the worlds most famous arena... the center of the universe. what a night. thanks for letting me relive it. keep em comin.
Such a great show, thank you for posting first off - missed it by one year my 1st show was in '99 which was still an exceptional year but nothing quite compares to the '98 tour!!!
So glad to see the full show up. This is #1 out of the 48 shows I've seen. I think it's the best Watchtower ever and one could argue the best show DMB ever played.
Anyone in the comments actually attend this show? I did. With a really hot chick who was a good friend. She didn’t appreciate what was happening during the encore. I was completely blown away. I was 22 at the time and knew I was watching history being made. My “date” was oblivious. 😊
Was 16, me and my girlfriend at the time went, had some great seats from my aunt who worked with people at MSG. I remember everyone at my high school saying how the other show they were playing at MSG (maybe the night before?) was going to be so much better and they all had gone. Needless to say, me and my girl had caught the better show...
Was my first show, shortly before my 16th birthday. I listen to this show and can almost feel like I am back at MSG. Truly the feeling of falling in love with a band. 20 years and 100+ shows later....still the greatest ever in spite of the evolution.
@@mikeconnors1473 Totally fall back in love with DMB listening to this as I am right now. Only thing is I caught them only a few more times until my final show at the Meadowlands in 2001 before eventually seeing them this past summer (2019) at Jones Beach. Lots has changed but this show remains for me possibly my favorite live experience of all time. This coming from someone who sees an overwhelming amount of live music.
Thought the shows last weekend were pretty good until I listened to this. The current lineup pales in comparison. If not Boyd, they absolutely need a new violin player. Thankful I got to see about 15-20 shows in the 90s. Just 4 shows in the 2000’s. Bring back some strings!
Winter 1998 and almost all of 2000 are my 2 favorite DMB tours and the best the band has sounded imo. This last stop is incredible.
Couldnt agree more. ‘98 winter tour was their perfect sound
That Jimi Thing opener got the crowd GOING...no phones, no distractions, just the music and good times with family and friends.

LIOG. End of discussion!!!
I was at this show!
Interesting how similar Jeff's solo in #41 is to the epic one from 4.20.02 in Ottawa. The man is nothing if not consistent.
what typical situation is the intro jam from???... good stuff
Is that Jeff Coffin on sax for #41? Amazing solo
or OneEyedWilly5, whatever... all these goonies matthews people, i dont know who's who. love the name btw.
