You jsut solved one of the parts i was hing up on since day one. i never understood what the knocking was i cannot believe it was Seymour lost in thought while chalmers was knocking on his door.

The whole luncheon scene actually works if you take that Skinner is trying to change subjects to distract Chalmers and Chalmers isn't habing it. I also like how "Well Sheymour i made it, despite your directions". Now means that he made it through the meal.

I really like the idea of Chalmers yelling about aurora borealis completely unprompted and Skinner thinking he's lost his mind and stuttering before making up an excuse to run out of the house and call the cops at krusty burgers payphone
This video just proves that Chalmers' "yeah" after he walks in and Skinner's "whew" after he told Chalmers about dinner are events that always happen in time and can never be broken
I was thought this would be swapping the order of Seymour’s and Skinner’s lines in each scene and was expecting it to start off something like: “Ah Superintendent Chalmers welcome. I hope you’re prepared for an unforgettable Luncheon.” “Well Seymour I made it, despite your directions” Then the actual start broke my brain.
It feels like its own new story along with the fact that it's still nearly the exact same, Seymour's mother still having her nearly same dialogue is funny as hell and how Seymour reveals his plan, so fast that the camera recognizes it as one syllable, and Chalmers yelling at him at the end is the cherry on top.
