I love the detail of how Skinner tries to break the time loop by randomly saying Aurora Borealis only for it to fail to change Chalmers repeating dialogue and result in Skinner's panic.
Skinner and Chalmers have been trapped in this godforsaken unforgettable luncheon for decades with no hope of escape and have long since lost their sanity. All that exists of the men they once were is the dispute over upstate New York regional dialects.
don't you guys get it? we are the gods of this universe, we've edited this loop so many times now that it's falling apart. We are the reason they are infinitely trapped. We are the reason the world is crumbling. It's all us
I expected the whole scene with the last dialogue being "Well, Seymour, you are an odd fellow but I must say - - - I made it, despite your directions." and the loop starting over. This one was also pretty fun, though. Thanks for the upload!
TL1: The Original Timeline [Time resets as soon as he enters the kitchen through the door] TL2: Skinner tries again TL3: Skinner tries again; Chalmers is furious; Skinner accidentally resets time TL4: Skinner tries again [This part is confusing to me] TL5: Skinner tries confusing Chalmers with Aurora Borealis, time loop still doesn't break TL6: Skinner tries again TL7: Skinner admits to Chalmers finally
TL4: Skinner tries to run away through the window but get's intercepted in front of his house Then he tries to go to Krusty Burgers to avoid the time loop but entering the door to Krusty's he enters his kitchen door again. No door is safe. that was the general idea
Ah yes. See I can pinpoint the exact moment reality starts to break. Skinner says he hopes Calmers is ready for an "unforgettable luncheon". At that point, skinner has already ensured that his roast will, in fact, be ruined. However, if we take a look at the Luncheon Multiverse, we can see that had skinner just let Chalmers in, the loop would crack a little. He would have ample time to check on the roast. Remove Skinner's blatant attempts to have a sterling relationship with Chalmers that is ruined in all realities, he could save himself. But Skinner isn't satisfied with just being an "odd fellow" who "steams a good ham". He has to make the luncheon unforgettable. Luncheon Supreme out.
If you think more about it, if Chalmers had taken more time to arrive Skinner's house, with his apparently awful directions, he would have either taken his roast out in time, slightly over-cooked, or even gone to get the burgers without Chalmers seeing him, which would eliminate the whole asymmetric exercises excuse, aswell as the "steamed clams" confusion for both, leading only the small suspicion for the burger's taste being too similar to Krusty's, thus the "Old Family Recipe" excuse might be already enough to convince otherwise. Finally, Seymour would have either put out the fire from his kitchen, or have a larger time window for Chalmers to not notice it, with both going out of the house, Chalmers commenting on Seymour's great family recipe, and going home happily. Truly, it would've been a perfect unforgettable luncheon
Hah, yeah, but also: If Seymour would just have told the truth from the beginning he would've seen that Chalmers is very forgiving as we can see in this case. - Oh no, my roast is ruined. I'll just buy some hamburgers. - Of course! ;D
this edit made me realize that steamed hams could really fit into a groundhog day type of time loop, where skinner burns his house down after a luncheon, wakes up, has another luncheon where he thinks the last one was just a dream, burns the house again, wakes up again, gets to the steamed clams in time and the day basically changes every time but each time the day resets because of one thing or another and eventually skinner goes mental until he realizes what he has to do to get out of the time loop and serves the perfect luncheon
All Skinner ever wanted was to be loved and appreciated by Chalmers. In the end, after all the variants, Chalmers finally realizes that Skinner is a good fellow. Beautiful
I will never get the sound of those doors out of my head. I paused Steaming Ham Videos for over a year now, yet the haunting still continues causing flashbacks to editing this video...
Honestly I think this video has the rare criticism that it isn’t long enough. A few more loops with things getting more and more over the top would be amazing, but this is still great nonetheless.
Guess I have a job to do. I was actually worrying it was getting to long and the joke went stale. I originally had more ideas and the path to the breaking of space time was more intricate and longer. But now that I know that is what some people would want to see there is definitely a motivation.
@@HalgradLP people will always pay an extra a $5 just for the directors cut on movies, I don't see why UA-camrs don't do more directors cut style videos, it probably takes time to edit and if no one likes it your still uploading the normal cuts.
I love how this can be interpreted 2 ways: - Seymour is trying to end the time loop by trying to alter the fixed dialogue with random mentions of "aurora borealis" and then giving up his charade - The time loop is causing everything to go wrong as it is collapsing, causing glitches and anomalies
Pretty sure I had a dream like this once, where I was conscious of events repeating and had to perform the same actions to move on (aka wake up). Incredible how you can speedrun events in a dream. But enough out of this odd fellow, as I must say, _delightfully steamed, Haru._
Alternate Title: Steamed Hams but It's groundhog day Which makes sense because then Luncheon kept on Looping over and over but when he Told the Truth The loop was over.
I might actually change that, the last scene was in fact meant to show the circle breaking. My original inspiration was Haruhi Suzumiyas endless eight but I scrapped that idea for a shorter vesion as I was worried the joke might get to stale in 8 repetitions.

I’d like to see a version of this when Skinner goes back to the kitchen a second time, he then realized that he forgot to turn the oven down, & the Chalmers then realized Skinner has lied to him the whole time after looking in the burning oven. But Chalmers was also caring enough to save the old lady (the one that said “Semore, the house is on fire!” from dying in the fire. & then the Fire fighters came & then extinguishing the fire.
