happy new year! I was trying to find the episode where Bob makes the glaze, could you help? Thanks for all your videos, got my Searwood for Christmas and have been experimenting.
Nice experiment. They all looked great. Which pellets did you use? I'm still trying to decide if I want to pull the trigger on the smokin pecan pellets.
Thanks! I used a 50/50 mix of Smokin' Pecan and Bear Mountain mesquite. I talked with the owner of Smokin' Pecan a few days ago and will be doing another video on it, where we'll compare the efficiency of them compared to traditional pellets. You can wait for that test to pull the trigger if you want. Next few weeks. Cheers!
Interesting test. I wonder if they weren't as tender because they didn't get as much heat being that they were raised in the basket, or maybe because of the constant tumbling, they lost more juice?
I wonder the same thing. I'm gonna try just the basket ribs again on my own and crank the heat. Instead of 275, maybe 325 or 350 even. 350 is what we use for smoke-fried wings in the basket so that may be the way to go.
Waiting for a Searwood 600XL and I’ve got a question for you. How often do you use your 600? A rep told us that it’s not recommended to use it everyday? I plan to use mine a lot and didn’t realize it was a grill that shouldn’t be used everyday. I won’t use it everyday but I’ll be using it a lot.
Wow that’s a strange statement from the rep. I use it all the time. 3, 4, 5 times a week. No issues whatsoever. Just empty the ash/grease catch and the flame diffuser every 3 cooks or so. Eventually the glow plug will go bad and the more it’s used the faster that will happen, but that’s $25 and 5 minutes to replace yourself. It’s like changing the wiper blades on your car every so often…

@@TBH-Grillin thanks for the reply this is what I was thinking I’m hoping to get it soon.
Very Nice. Very interesting. CHEERS!!!
Cheers brutha!
I knew the basket ribs would not be the best. Not sure how this basket thing got started. I originally seen people use it for peppers.
Well it works fantastic for wings! Also I’m thinking it will work better at a higher temp than 275.
@@TBH-GrillinYeah give it a shot at a higher temp. Great content by the way. Just order my XL. They are hard to find in stock.
@@Randel1966thanks! That’s awesome. You’ll enjoy it.
@@TBH-Grillinwould be interested to see how higher temp is for basket ribs 👍
@@FD286 I’ll give it a shot!
