Usually I get bored very quickly by everything financial. But I listened to your talk right through to the end, dear Sirisha (lovely name!!!). You have the extraordinary ability to make finance interesting, though it is greatly halped by your wonderful sense of humour. You'reable to tell funny stories and anecdotes without actually laughing yourself. You must be the life of the party around the dinner table, and I'm sure that socially your company must be very much in demand, very sought-after - obviously as much for your intelligence as for your humour... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Thanks @kevinwilliams3272 for your kind words. I hope we get to have more of these conversations with our kids, nephews, nieces, grand kids, i.e. any kids & young people that intersect our life.

@@womencareerandlife I feel honoured to have received a reply from you, Sirisha. I wasn't expecting that. I'm English but I live in France, and so with the time difference with the US it was 2 in the morning and I was falling asleep when I first saw the reply. I preferred to wait until this morning to reply. In the meantime I have visited your Web site and subscribed to your newsletter. I see that there are 2 other videos by you on UA-cam. I'll watch them later on and I'll drop you an e-mail at the address found on your site. I'm happy to see that your talk has attracted more views and more positive comments. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

As a son of a father who rather dies instead of speaking up about his income and debt (that leads many times in our familiar life to really risk losing the house) even when me and my sisters have become adults with kids, I can confirm all she said.
I have a natural behaviour of saving money (and occasionally investing it), but I didn't have any possibilities until I got away from my parents, because they were constantly taking my money.
During my childhood I only learned how to hide money. But they were very good at finding and practically stooling it.
My elder sister in fact has become good at begging and spending, and stooling when someone says No.

@@womencareerandlife I am not sure you understood my family problems. If my miserable life is a funny story for you, maybe I have mistaken all my life. Maybe, instead of a therapist, it was better to find a stage for a stand-up comedy.

Dam I feel you man, I live like a pauper infront of everyone so no one bothers to ask me, but thanks to living frugal and a supportive wife, in 5 years I have been able to build a decent nest egg, will try my best to educate my son, I rather give more priority to this than school

Oh wow, that's really awful you had to deal with that growing up. I'm happy you've gotten away from them & are a good saver. I buy mutual funds to spread the risk.

I think there are very obvious benefits for governments regarding wether or not young children are taught these essential but always neglected life lessons
But please. Keep drilling into us about Nazis and algebra . VERY valuable life lessons

Financial Literacy is rarely part of a school curriculum, so we should take it into our own hands to teach it. Please share this conversation with others.
