WOWZER. TY for using the design seeds pallet. It is hard trying to match the colors by computer but boy did you come so darn close. What a beautiful piece. And the cardboard!!!! Genius 🎉. I just can never wait for your next inspiration. TYVM for sharing your beautiful creativity.
Love!! The corrugated cardboard is looking gorgeous! It helps me to remember that every day objects make great art (I remember cutting potatoes into shapes and stamping with them in elementary school😝)
Thank you so much Denise, I really really enjoyed watching you creating this amazing and gorgeous page to cut up. And I really really love ❤️ this, it’s absolutely stunning and beautiful too. And that gold is really really stunning and pulls the whole thing together beautifully. Thank you so much to for showing us all that colour chart’s online, that’s really really helpful and useful too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Love the colors today! After it was drier, really pretty! Liked the cardboard. Saving some of mine to use-have several boxes. Have a great day! Love and light💖🌟🌹
Yep alcohol works great and also Murphy Oil Soap (different from Murphy Oil Spray Cleaner). Put in a shallow rectangle glass or plastic container and let them soak over night then use a small brush to clean. Best way I know to clean a braver as well. You can use the Murphy’s soap quite a while like just snapped a lid on top of the container and keep using it even when it looks mucky
I’m so excited you posted a new video! Thank you for the sharing the design seeds color palettes. I agree about the computer. Once I start scrolling I can’t stop. Video idea going to design seed s and finding color palettes that speak to you and then create your own color palette challenge cards. By mixing the colors yourself that would be so fun. Can you do that? I want to make my own doing this bc then the colors will only be palettes I actually like!
Thank you for showing us the seeds site! An interesting thing happened when I went to their website and found the color palette that you were using! I realized that my computer was showing me two different variations of those colors, one that you were working with and one from the website. I’m sure that it is just the way my computer shows colors. I copied and edited the colors from the site until it looked like I was close to the colors you were using! Now I feel like we are working with the same colors and I love it!! Yay! Your ideas are so great!! Thank you! 💕💕
Miss Denise!!! I have never commented but I love to watch your videos. You make it look effortless and we all know it isn't. I try constantly to replicate your abstracts and they never turn out because I'm new to watercolor and you are amazing. So talented. (And I laugh because I make the same noises and giggles and wiggles when something cool happens!) I absolutely, wholeheartedly, appreciate the web site you recommended for color palettes because that is a struggle at first. I always thought I was a neutral girl, then watercolor came into my life and I started combining too many colors and it just looks "off" when you do too much. THANK YOU!!!!!! I love watching you work and I feed off the inspiration you share with the world.
Oh my god❣️. What beautiful music❣️. Do you know who/what it is❓. And seeing you so easily put the watercolors down, I am trying. Practicing every day.
One of my favorites of yours. I wanted you to keep going with mark making the rest of the pieces...so therapeutic and ASMR. I have a hard time leaving white space in background pieces. Your artwork is always such an inspiration to get out of my comfort zone. (And I'm loving your Skilshare courses).
I want to say thank you!! My stash is huge and has supplies for art journaling to felting to collage and stickers and ribbons lace material and enough beads to open my own shop. Also stamps stencils cutting dies inks paints and pencils. It’s actually been overwhelming and after changing my small studio around a number of times, my creativity and motivation took a nose dive. I never really got into abstract but after watching your videos, I decided to have a go at abstracts. I am having so much fun and I love the freedom of it and just letting go of expectations. My creativity is combing back so strong that I have began a watercolour canvas using my daughters favourite cushion design as the inspiration. Thank you so very much, with love from Sydney Australia ❤
Thank you for sharing this. I would love to purchase the cubes but can't at this moment but really needed help with color selection. This is a real benefit for me.
we are raised with so many rules it makes us nervous to think outside the box, and art 'rules' should not be set in stone I agree. Experiment experiment experiment! I love your UA-cam channel!
I just looked at Design Seeds on Instagram. So many choices and they are free!! Thanks so much for mentioning them. What great combos! I love your style and enjoy watching you create. So glad I found you.
I absolutely love this one! That corrugated cardboard looks awesome! I got an interesting cardboard insert in a package that I'm excited to try! 😊 The smaller pieces you cut are gorgeous too. It would be hard to decide what to cut on this painting, every area was frameworthy to me!! 😍
I love how this one turned out today! Was a great paint day. I know you’ll love trying out the cardboard!! I’m always looking for interesting pieces now! 🥰
What a great resource to use along with the color cubes and Pinterest. I don’t have access to internet at the lake where I really like to relax and create so a hand held version such as the color cubes is a good resource for times like that. Once again you’ve presented an excellent tool/resource to add to our artsy arsenal! If it’s free it’s for me! Thank you!
Loved this video! Thanks for reminding me about Design Seeds. I used to follow the site back when it started, but then I had a kid and forgot about art for a long time. 😄 Love your channel!
I have really enjoyed your videos. I am just now trying to let go and just enjoy playing with my supplies. I really like the way you use the mats to frame out sections to see what you like. Today I really enjoyed the background music you used - is there anyway you could share what it was? Thanks for sharing your joy.
I'm so glad you love them! 🥰 I keep most of the things I paint since I make videos... I store them in plastic art sleeves. Sometimes I need them to photograph and I use them as samples. Some I have framed in my house. I have given a few as gifts. My goal isn't to sell art - so I have not put them up for sale since I might need them again for something.
Also, if you have an iPhone or iPad there is an app called Color Tone Maker that will pull a palette from any of your photos. I like using it but I still had to buy the color cubes. 😂
Do you ever work right on the block? Makes taping unnecessary (unless you want it for a border) and so easy to pick up the block and turn and tilt for different effects. I love them, especially if I plan to paint outside.
A while back I saw your paint brushes in a brown crinkly container...almost like a soap dish. I can't find it listed in your things you use, but I would love to get one...where?
These turned out beautifully! I'm on my second try 🙄 but that's how we learn, right? The brown was messing me up. Decided to change that and leave more space, thinking zen.🤞
Thank you for more artistic inspiration!! And speaking of gold... I recently discovered Golden makes a Heavy Body Iridescent Gold Deep (Fine) acrylic. I've been using it since the gold paste you use is so hard to find. It works for me! I would love for someone to actually compare the Golden to the gold paste someday, just cause I'm curious. And another free palette source is the Adobe color wheel. You can create your own palette or look at what other users have created or what's trending based on Adobe Stock (you'll find these options in the menu at the top of the page). Can't wait till your next video! PS I just checked Dick Blick (they have the most options) and I didn't even see that Golden has a Heavy Body Gold Mica which is probably closer to the gold paste. Duh!
Those are great options! Thanks for sharing! I'm going to order a tube of that golden gold and try it out and compare it in a video... I'm thinking that mica golden has looks like it is big flakes instead of fine powder. You might could make some gold up with mica powder added to that heavy body paint and make it extra shiny. I have some powders. I might try that when I do the compare! 😊
Oh my goodness I have a love/hate relationship with your videos and I mean that in the nicest way. You will out your viewfinder on some part if your creation and I’m saying, ‘ it’s gorgeous, cut it’ and you don’t y, you go to a different spot and I’m saying, ‘ no no , go back’. Lol
Love your videos! So satisfying.🩷 I was wondering if you have tried pulling colors in the same way as the card board, accept wiping the color away with a baby wipe or slightly damp paper towel and a stencil? The technique is gorgeous with multiple colors mixing together! Just something to try out for yourself unless you have already. 😊
Hi Denise! Your musical choices are as exquisite as your art pieces! Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents!
Thank you so much! 🥰🥰🥰
OMG! Every time I decide that one of your design is "IT", you turn around and do this... So fragile, so beautiful!! 💕
You’re the best! Thank you! 🥰
me again, watching while I'm supposed to be working! its like my Friday treat 🥰😂
You're the best! 🥰
I love that site! Thanks for sharing its fabulous, ❤
You are so welcome! 😊
Very lovely palette and painting. Has an Asian feel. Thanks for more inspiration!
Thank you so much! 🥰

Love!! The corrugated cardboard is looking gorgeous! It helps me to remember that every day objects make great art (I remember cutting potatoes into shapes and stamping with them in elementary school😝)
I did that too!! 😁
I like the way you built up the layers .it gives me a good sense of depth.
Thank you! 🥰
Oh man, I love this one!
Thank you! ☺️
Thanks for sharing the website….went back to my original question re: apps. Still never found one that looks as clean and not clunky as this looks!
Glad to help 😊

Love your style and the use of mixed mediums. You are costing me a fortune though!😂
Sorry! 🤪. Thank you! 🥰
THANK YOU! Two Paula's in a row...

You'll love trying out the cardboard!! Thank you 🥰🥰🥰
Omg! What a fantastic resource.
It really is.. you'll love it! 😊
Hey Denise…fyi…spray a little alcohol on your stencils when you want and just wipe off with a paper towel…comes clean in a swipe!🥰
Great tip! Thank you! ☺️

I totally agree! 😊
Stencils clean right up with a light scrub from a Scotchbrite pad after a soak in plain water.
Oooh! great tip! Thank you!! 😊

Wow. There were SO many great choices. All lovely. Did you hear me saying gold, gold, gold? I love gold.
Haha! Right?? Gold!! Thank you! ☺️
Thanks for the Design Seeds recommendation as the Colour Cube isn't available in the UK at the moment, so this is a great alternative! 👍😊
Glad it was helpful! 🥰

Glad it was helpful! 😊
Amazing! Love these colors so much - I’m going to have some fun today 😀. Could you hear me saying “yes, yes cut it right there”… haha 😛?
Haha! Yes!! Have fun painting! 🎨🎨🎨
I love the Design Seeds...collected a lot when they first appeared. Love what you ended up with and I'm glad you went with the big one. ❤❤❤
Thanks so much! 🥰
Oh my god❣️. What beautiful music❣️. Do you know who/what it is❓. And seeing you so easily put the watercolors down, I am trying. Practicing every day.
Thank you so much 😀 the music is from my Soundstripe subscription for licensed music for video. 😊

Thank you, love fun tips.
I have hundreds saved on Pinterest too!! Then I get stuck on Pinterest for hours instead of making fun paintings 😂
Now I completely get that, ha ha.
Love that you share your talent with us, thank you!
Thank you so much! 🥰🥰🥰

Love that! Thank you! 🥰
So exciting watching your videos Denise. I must say I was never a fan of abstract art but I am loving it. So many possibilities
Thank you so much! 🥰🥰🥰

So glad you loved the video! Thank you! 🥰
This color palette looks so beautiful and I love the leaf bands, they add just the right touch. The Kuretakes were so perfect this these colors too.
This was a fun set of colors! Worked out better than I thought! 😊
I loved this demo. Gorgeous colour palette. I shall check out Design Seeds as I struggle to choose colours sometimes.
You'll love it! Thank you so much! 🥰
I have really enjoyed your videos. I am just now trying to let go and just enjoy playing with my supplies. I really like the way you use the mats to frame out sections to see what you like. Today I really enjoyed the background music you used - is there anyway you could share what it was? Thanks for sharing your joy.
Thank you!! 🥰 🥰 🥰 ... I have a Soundstripe subscription for music for videos. This one was: Feet Down by Aaron Sprinkle 😊
What do you do with the pieces created in your videos? Do you sell them somewhere? I love all of them! Even your little test paper is pretty.
You do tons of medium pieces. I would have loved to see the big one.
I just go where I’m inspired to go 😊
Also, if you have an iPhone or iPad there is an app called Color Tone Maker that will pull a palette from any of your photos. I like using it but I still had to buy the color cubes. 😂
Great resource! Thank you so much! 🥰
Do you ever work right on the block? Makes taping unnecessary (unless you want it for a border) and so easy to pick up the block and turn and tilt for different effects. I love them, especially if I plan to paint outside.
Yes, I play on the block too.. just don't think I've done it in too many youtube videos. 😊
A while back I saw your paint brushes in a brown crinkly container...almost like a soap dish. I can't find it listed in your things you use, but I would love to get one...where?
I see you found it! 😊
Did you get that cardboard from Chewy? I got one almost exact! I saved it too!!!!
No… but it was from something I got delivered. I’ve had it a while. Don’t remember what it was. 😊
I just ordered that kuretaki pens yesterday from Amazon. I think it was from Joggles. It came with a white one as well.
Great!
These turned out beautifully! I'm on my second try 🙄 but that's how we learn, right? The brown was messing me up. Decided to change that and leave more space, thinking zen.🤞
Yes!! Experimenting and play is how we grow and get better!! I'm so glad you kept going and changing it up to work better for you! 😊

Try you vine deaign in gold on a dark background and let’s see what happens
Fun! I'll get that out when I do a darker one for sure! 🥰

No, I don’t do websites for others 😊
A ...liz..Erin crimson.
Thank you! ☺️
found it!!!
Oh good!
Love your videos! So satisfying.🩷
