  • Suzuki GSX-S 750 may only be a middleweight naked bike but that doesnt mean the thrills should be compromised. Suzuki gave me a GSX-S750 for a week and I gave it a proper workout!

    I rode one of these last July too. I really liked it. That induction roar doesn't come across in the video so much, but it's wonderful when you're on the bike. I was very impressed with it, the brakes as you said are notable, and I haven't felt so at home on a naked bike since I tried the Monster 821.

    Just got my ECU flashed by Dano’s Performance and it really helps to smooth the bike out. I threw on a Yoshi Alpha T slip on and even with the baffle installed sounds amazing. I have 3500 miles on my 18’. Wonderful bike, couldn’t be happier.

    Great review. I test rode this bike last week at wheels in Peterborough. I agree the brakes are excellent. I'm 5'7 (short arse) so for me the seat was fine, I could sit on it for quite long periods of time. The gearbox was the best ive experienced. It did feel a little bit like a grown up waz machine but with a small screen you could do distances on it. If I had the money I would buy one.

    Why bother blocking the speedo? I can easily calculate your speed by the time lapsed between any random reference spots. In order to help authorities in case this video is happen to be seen by some transit officer, I have done the work of calculating 28 different points of reference behind you and, If my math is correct, and it always is, because I'm an indian mathematician, I've calculated that you've never surpassed a given speed of 40 mph. I have concluded also that the blurred trees passing behind you is not because of a high speed shot on slow frame camera, but a simple effect of the heat of the engine mixed with a high humidity ambience and the fucking awesome sound, I mean, the sound waves of the exhaust interferencing with the camera microphone. I can't see any illegal action whotsoever, so I'm not been negatively influenced by your behaviour.

      This as a first bike would be like having a 600hp vehicle as a first car.
      Don’t rush into big bikes, you have your entire life to work your way up. Start with no more than 60hp for the first year or 2, and you will learn alot about traffic and survival skills on the road.
      Then step it up. Trust me, if you’ve never ridden or been a passenger on a 750cc+ sports bike, these type of bikes are much quicker than you can possibly imagine.

Amongst all the nakeds, I still say the Kawasaki Z series ie the Z800, Z900 and Z1000 are stunning, it looks macho with the transformer head lamp and a fatty fuel tank, what more with the very reasonableprice it offers compared to its competitors. It is not for racing or on track, as the RR versions in all the brands are already meant for track.

    I've ridden this 750. I've ridden the bigger 1000. That liter machine has a ridiculous amount of power, but it was saddled with the worst gear ratios in the industry: 1st is very tall, and there is barely any space between the next 5. 6th spins the engine too fast at road speeds.
    I ultimately went with the Z900. But, the GSX-S1000 is awesome for the money (with some tuning for throttle calibration issues). Just hope Suzuki revises all of the gear ratios in the next remake.

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  7 років тому

      +Lifted_Above I rode it when it was just out and didn't notice the gear ratios.. the throttle response was an issue but I believe that's now addressed.. will try one again later on

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 7 років тому

      Per gearingcommander, at idle (~1200 rpm) it moves 8.5 mph. At 60 mph in 6th, it's turning 4200 rpm. The ratios are so tightly spaced, they are superfluous. Perfect Suzuki transmission, terrible gear ratios (borrowed from the 2005 superbike I suppose).
      To contrast, my Z900 is about 6.9 mph idle and at 60, turning 4,000 rpm. About perfect.
      That 999 engine in the Suzuki is such a torquey beast they really should have spread the ratios much more. Launching hard is a clutch burning experience and the highway RPM should be about 400 lower.
