    Why would anyone dislike this video? Thanks for your thoughts mate. Have the same bike and though I feel that I need to go to a higher capacity sometime soon, I think this one will be good after some ECU flashing and header mods. :)

    Just bought one. Only have 50 miles on it but I’m enjoying it so far. So I’m new to street bikes (came from years of riding dirt bikes) and I think the throttle is a bit snatchy. Not sure if that’s just the way street bikes are but it’s not as smooth as my YZ450F. Thinking of doing a re flash to see if it helps the fueling at all. It’s hard to keep the bike below 5K RPM’s on break in, it just wants to go!

    • @jjsemperfi
      @jjsemperfi 5 років тому +9

      Update. Have about 1350 miles on it now. Love it even more. Completely mild and tame below 5K rpm and starts to scream above 5K. The intake growl is addicting. Tightened my chain at about 750 miles. Changed the oil twice before 1000 miles for engine brake in. Glad that’s over, it was hard not to open this thing up. I’d recommend this bike to anyone. Even beginner street riders if you have dirt bike experience. I think it’s a great first street bike for someone with some two wheel experience already. Couldn’t be happier.

    Have a look at the GIVI screen... I had one on my CB650 and I think it would suit the Gixxus really well. In fact, i plan to get one for my GSX-S750 which i will be getting in December for a measly £6500, brand new in white. I've been following your experience with your bike and have really enjoyed the story so far. Keep going!!

    I'm close to getting an '18 GSX-S 750 like yours here in Florida. No temp gauge!? That's kind of crazy but at least I won't be thinking about it like I always am on my ZX-6R. My Harleys don't have them either but they're air cooled anyway. I like the Honda CB650F and MT-07 but I feel this bike is way more capable. More electronics and the styling is nice and price is also good 👌

    Great video Duda 👍👍👍
    The S21 tires are great for the mountains and I probably get 1500 miles but I got the 1000 n stay near the Tail of the Dragon 🐉🐉🐉 318 turns in 11.6 miles no side roads.
    I also like Perelli angel GT tires got to be GT. They r a multi compound so hard in The center soft on the sides they also have excellent water shedding probably the best in that department and all around tire but they’re pricey.

    Kevin, great blog, have enjoyed some of your previous ones too. Your GSX S750 does appear to be an awesome bike. In fact I'm in the market for a new bike next year and I'm considering one of these. I'm torn between the new SV650, I currently ride a SV650n K5, and the GSX S750. I'll have to try the two back to back. Stay safe.

    • @TheHDTheater
      @TheHDTheater  6 років тому +2

      Michael Stubberfield Thanks! Both are great bikes. The s750 is up around 40hp and 10 lb•ft, but it's a tame engine when respected. Similar pricing, insurance will be higher on the s750 though. Riding position is slightly sportier on the s750. I'd pick the s750 since I think it's more complete package, but the styling of the SV is hard to beat. That's a tough call: go with your gut.

    • @123Stubberfield
      @123Stubberfield 6 років тому

      Kevin Duda thanks, will try em both. The GSX is around 2 grand more than the SV in the U.K. The GSX does look the more complete package though.

    • @TheHDTheater
      @TheHDTheater  6 років тому

      Not too difficult, but it does require some web-surfing . It depends what you're looking for. Check out puig.tv/en . A viewer sent me this and they sell everything from windscreens and a plethora of aftermarket mirrors, to numerous footpegs and etc. All should be bolt-ons which fit perfectly. I purchased my frame sliders from SW-Motech and crank case/ engine protectors from T-Rex Racing. Let me know what you're looking for and I can maybe help you out.

      I haven't installed heated grips, but I'd recommend them if you like your creature comforts. They make a huge difference in your riding season longevity. Snowmobile gloves will do the same thing, bit the grips are a great investment

Depends where you're situated though; prices vary by area and region. Still a great bike and 1k miles is nothing for a Suzuki motor. If you feel that its the one, I'd go for it.

    Hi Kevin, I really enjoy your videos. I've been riding a cbr300r for a little more than a month now and am really interested in this bike as my first big bike since it seems a little more powerful than an mt 07 but not as crazy as an mt 09 and as you have said it is tame, but has power when you want it.Anyway I saw in this video that you wished the dash had a temperature gauge, but it looks like on one of your instagram pics that it does. I have also seen other pics of the dash and it shows a temp gauge on the far right. Did you mean a different type of temp gauge? Just curious.Keep up the videos

    • @TheHDTheater
      @TheHDTheater  6 років тому +1

      Yep I agree with Tyler. 114 is PLENTY of power for the street. You can pass any vehicle that isn't a supercar, even in 6th gear. It's not necessarily the best starter bike , keep that in mind. I mean its better than starting on a liter bike , but 115 HP and 81 N-m is a lot of bike, especially if you're new to the sport. Throttle and ability diligence is key.

      @Green.Current 6 років тому +1

      114 hp is indeed plenty of power for a bike. The ideal I would say. I had bikes with 105 hp and felt more than enough. Also for city drive 40 hp it's enough. It's non-adjustable and you're not wrong.... Aftermarket levers are on the list for mods (thinking of getting ASV levers), though luckily the biting point for the clutch is very early on the gixxis, so it's not as bothersome as you may think. Plus I clutchless shift most of the time😁

    Did the Fuel Injection (Fi) light come on after you had the tip over? That light will come on for a lot of different things, including emission equipment. I also wouldn’t recommend trying to increase redline without changing the camshafts and valve springs and at that point it would just end up getting too expensive for the results. Great videos, I do love this bike for an everyday ride.

Are there aftermarket seats available for this bike ?. Ive been searching online but i cannot find any aftermarket alternatives. at. Ramirez_in_pr Two main reasons: insurance and usability. I couldn't come close to affording the s1000, insurance was ridiculous. Also, the s750 is just more fun on the streets; you can use much more of the power in normal street and traffic conditions, but still be able to go very fast if you want to. I also like the sound and looks of the s750 slightly better. The Gixxer 750 motor has the best of both the 600 and 1000 worlds. Bigger is not always better, but just my personal opinion!

    The GSX-S750 is a good bike but you can’t seriously say that it’s better than the 2018 Street Triple R man, cmon! The STriple is 60lbs lighter, it has more torque, the fit and finish is a lot better, the electronics are on a whole other level...

    • @TheHDTheater
      @TheHDTheater  6 років тому +6

      It comes down to pricing. I'm a college student tight on a budget. The S750 is just more practice financially, both MSRP and long term costs; Suzuki parts and maintenance are cheaper. The S750 has 81 N-m of torque, while the range topping Street Triple RS has 77 N-m. Looks are subjective. The Street Triple is handsome, but I think Suzuki is more attractive. The Suzuki has a very good TCS and a display that has exactly what I need. The color LCD display was nice on the Street Triple, but it really wasn't on a whole new level to be honest. I respect your opinion though. The Suzuki's frame is full space-frame steel, which is the reason for the high weight. If I had more disposable income, I'd choose the Street Triple. The S750 is a very reasonably priced entry level middleweight which you have to give Suzuki credit for.

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 5 років тому +1

      The i-4 on the S750 is butter. Butter. Butter. Butter. No triple from any brand will ever be as smooth. That said, the 750 needs to be revved to access the power and be satisfied. From what I've seen online, with a proper exhaust and ECU flash to unrestrict all the emissions garbage, the S750 will put down 115 whp. That's over 15 hp gains on stock. A dealership near me has new left-over '18 S750 for $6499. Suspension and brakes on these do not feel bad at all. Very balanced, stable, and substantial.

    • @TheHDTheater

      Not a great starter bike. You want a bike which has physical limitations (e.g. smaller displacement, fewer cylinders, less power) that gives you some forgiveness when learning to ride. Because when you start out, you will make mistakes, like taking corners to quickly under various conditions, sudden stops, low speed maneuvering, that will all be aided with a smaller bike. I know this because I made mistakes and one of mine led to totaling my first bike (Suzuki S40 Boulevard, 30 hp bike) and a few months of injuries. Next, insurance.... Insurance for a big bike as a starter will most certainly result in much higher insurance rate. The companies are smart enough to know that the younger a rider's experience is and the bigger the bike is, the more likely they'll have a traffic accident, statistics show. I'd consider an FZ/MT07, FZ6R, SV650, CBR500, Ninja 650R first because they are very cheap used and will alleviate some of the insurance costs. Plus you can sell it, make most of the money back, and move up to a bigger bike when you're ready. There's no rush! Whenever you do put you're foot down and go shopping for a bike, get insurance quotes first before you get too deep into a sale.

      It is a good first big bike, after you have learnt to ride on smaller bikes and refined your road craft.
