@@kefkapalazzo1 I love using the tearblast arrows on the Shadow Sharpshot Bow after scanning them for their components. It really helps to weaken them in my opinion and I pair that up with some Blast wire on the Shadow Tripcaster. It helps me kill them super fast. Also sorry, I know it’s been a year 😅
You just need to tied down one bird and critical strike it 3 time it just taken afew min to do that

It's annoying when you hit the one flying around and 5 of his buddies including the 3 tramplers are going after you
I just ran into the tramplers and I. Killed two then 5 of those fucking hawks are kicking my ass. Took away most of my health before I decided to run away and take them on before killing the last trampler.
Yea what's up with that as I thought hunting grounds was for learning purposes

My strategy.
Stick to the RIGHT on the platform. GlintHawk comes.
Boom FireArrow - Jump down - Rope it - Critical Hit - Run back Up and repeat.
The Tramplers cant reach you while you wait.

This was the most frustrating part of the game, by _far_. In a game otherwise designed for pure fun, this was completely anti-fun. Absolutely hated it, and it badly soured my experience with the game, which has otherwise been phenomenal.
This trial is outstandingly bad because it combines several mechanics that are frustrating to experience:
- The Ropecaster ammo shoots pretty slowly, and is horribly inaccurate, and has pretty poor range. There were several times when I was sure it should have connected, but it just whiffed. Not fun.
- The birds are pretty tricky to hit in the air, and they dodge and weave and zip past you. Not fun.
- The birds swarm you and they all relentlessy shoot freeze, which breaks your aim when you're aiming for another bird, or it stops you dead in your tracks when you're running to a downed bird, allowing them to get away. Not fun.
The timer starts, but all the birds except one are really far away, making you lose a ton of time for nothing, just waiting for them to reach you. Of course you cannot go to them, because of the goddamn Tramplers in the way. Not fun.
- The "Critical Strike" prompt was easily THE MOST FRUSTRATING OF THEM ALL. After you downed a bird, after you got over the wonky Ropecaster accuracy and nailed them down, and after you managed to dodge the Tramplers, and the Freeze and the birds charging you, you get to the downed bird only to have NO prompt to Critical Strike them, and they will often just break the rope and get back up in the air. SUPER, SUPER FRUSTRATING!!
In an otherwise beautifully designed game, this is a shocking oversight, and I hope they tweak it in a patch to:
1. Bring the birds closer.
2. Have fewer birds.
3. Fix the Critical Strike prompt wonkiness.
you just have no strategy, use all the handling mods on the ropecaster and it will reload very fast. fire arrow and slow motion to bring the birds down. I only have 3 trials left and I'm loving them and the way it shows you different ways you can approach the machines
Yo know you can tie down the same machine twice and count still right?
Even with a well thought out strategy, this quest is absurd. It takes forever for the crit prompt to appear, you're incredibly vulnerable during the crit attack, and you often have no way of doing this quest without alerting every single machine around.

I friggin HATE the ropecaster, rarely use it (especially on birds) and resent being tortured with an absolutely insane challenge ... yeah, let's try to rope flying robots with an absurdly short range weapon while giant steel bulls ram you from all sides.
Really BULLshit trial. Tramplers just make this so frustrating.
A little tip. If your not an excellent shot use the tearblast arrow. Also you can crit hit them twice
You can also shoot them with fire arrows. Hit them twice and they fall down regardless of where you hit them.
No matter what arrow I use they stay in the air

A group of Carja people were walking by and fought the Tramplers while i did the quest.

yeah i did the same thing on my first attempt I was like I know I am hitting the big numbers on this why am I not getting credit, thankfully I had the sense to look it up XD

I struggled with this one until I discovered that you can finish it simply by jumping down the rope to the right and aggro a bird without firing a shot. Then drop down from the pillar and use the ropecaster as they come within range. The ice armor and/or potions also help, but it really made the fight much more managable.

I just completed all the hunting trials with Blazing Sun marks, and your tutorials were invaluable from the get go as I used many of your strategies to get by, so I just wanted to say thanks. This trial was definitely the hardest of the lot. I was lucky that the third Glinthawk was hovering low right beside me so I didn't have to shoot it down, just rope it and strike it. Also another tip when taking on these trials: tearblast arrows are definitely needed!Especially when it comes to the ravager, thunderjaw, shellwalkers and I would even say stalker-related trials. These guides are great, and I'll be sure to check back here again for other games whenever I need to consult some gaming tips.
Some tips:
Corrupt a trampled to keep them occupied.
Use FIRE ARROWS
approach from the front when they are actually tied down
Got this done in 3-4 tries. I used the shadow sharpshoot bow and Carja ropecaster. Went down the right rope and shot the Glinthawks with tear blast arrow which makes them fall down. Run up, rope them up a few times and critical hit kill them. Rinse and repeat two more times.
The key is to stay on the cliffs on the right where you went down the rope so the tramples down get you. I didn't have one trampler interrupt me doing this method. Good Luck!

Finally got it, thanks to some help from the local Karja guard that kept the tramplers occupied.
And as shared below:
*stick to the right side
*slow time > flame arrow
*bird down
*run > prompt > crit
*repeat
It took me a full week to get thus trial for my platinum trophy for rhe game. I finally went to youtube and found your video.

I agree with the comments that most of the trials quests (not just this one) are frustrating and obnoxious and reduce the "fun factor". The same thing can be said for Hunting Grounds quests.
Anyway, for this trial, it is not necessary to get the bird on the ground. The ropecaster will work when the birds are still up a ways in the air. If they notice you on the ground, they often come close enough to be in range. Two shots are usually enough to pull them down and ready them for the critical hit.
I tried shooting normal arrows at the birds, but they always fell to the ground dead. I tried roping them in the air and found that it works very well.
got it with 2 seconds to spare, stopped counting the attempts. died more times to explosions of fire than anything else. thanks so much for the guides Gamers Heroes subbed and liked
Thanks man, the glinthawk trial was hurting me as every time I had those damn tramplers come and ram me, with your advise plus staying to the left slope after the glinthawks from the mountain got there I managed it in about 1.30
Just did it in 1.59 with about 2% health left...
Luckier than me, I did it in 2.01...

Thanks for this video! If anyone else is still having trouble, try setting the difficulty down to story and killing the tramples quickly first (one tear to their underside does it).
there is no way that any reward is worth this frustration. i have no problem bringing them down and roping them but finding that sweet spot for the crit is almost impossible with them flopping around...
My tip to anyone coming back to this is to take down the first glinthawk as he does in this video. I did that, got my first Crit, but then the chaos ensued with birds swooping down and tramplers knocking me all over the place. I retreated back to the cliff ledge he shot the first bird down from. From there I roped down another that actually fell behind the rock outcropping and away from the tramplers reach. So I got my second Crit there. At this point, I only had to deal with the other birds, but since I didn't shoot the freeze component on the second bird, he was still at about 1/3rd health after my first Crit (I'm doing this at LVL 25, not 32 like in this vid). So I just re-roped the same bird and got my last Crit with 10secs to spare on the timer. Good luck, it was a nightmare until I learned that going back up to high-ground works.
I did this way too late in the game and would one-shot the glinthawks. Had to downgrade all my weapons, use a couple shock arrows to down them, tether them, and then had about 7 second to critical hit before they just died anyway. Nearly broke a controller over this.
For those who is finding it difficult, use the Banuk Shock Bow then the ropecaster. The shock bow allows you to bring the hawk down faster so you can tie it.
It won't stop you getting knocked about but switching to banuk ice armor with couple of freeze resist mods will stop the frost attacks ripping your health down too fast. One less thing to focus on and can shave off a few seconds for the trial if you're not having to keep an eye on your health
just did this in two attempts, I’m playing on hardest difficulty, actually made it super easy. Just roped one and crit hit it 3 times over as the crit damage is reduced enough to get away with it
Just did it. As long as you shoot it down with multi shot fire arrows you’ll bring it down.
Rope cast it then critical hit it. It took two critical hits to destroy one but it counted towards the critical hits needed.

Not sure if it’s always there but there’s like a nest of them on the far cliff and you can provoke them into swarming you. I came here because I’m an idiot and thought critical strike just meant heavy hit with R2. Once I saw critical strike was a pop up option once you got it down, got in 90 seconds no problem. Thanks for the vid.
Using the electric arrows with the warlock, two shot ground them, switch to rope caster, shoot about 3 times with it and strike. I also sometimes take out one or two tramples first by shooting them in the belly because not only does it make it easier, but also attracts the glinthawks.
3 fire arrows should bring them down right away. Try to be near them when you shoot them with the first arrows so you're right there when they hit the gournd. Have some handling on your ropecaster and you should be able to get a few ropes in them quick while they sit there stunned. At that point theyre stunned and roped so you can just step up and get the crit. I remember this being a nightmare the first time but a few playthroughs later this wasnt bad. The fire arrows bring them right down so its just a matter of quickly putting some ropes in and getting the crit it. I was ll the way to the right so it took a minute for the tramplers to come over and id I needed to the ridge was right there to hop up on.
Kept trying and around the 10th attempt just used the rope caster and shot them in the air. Actually worked very well. Thanks for the assist in the trials.

This trial is making me almost wake the neighbors by shouting in frustration. That critical hit is so glitchy, so many times the prompt would not show. Finally got it by sliding down the right rope when the glinthawk that flies around gets near it. Get it tied down, drop down to quickly get the crit (helpful if you have the shieldweaver armor to help negate the fall damage). You'll attract the attention of the other glinthawks. Just get back up by the pillar to stay away from the tramplers and then you'll be pretty much only dealing with the glinthawks. I am shaking from the adrenaline. Took me well over an hour to complete this trial.
If anyone comes by this video, just know you can use the same Glinthawk to do your 2nd or 3rd critical hit. (:
I got my 1/3 normally and my last 2/3 were on the same Glinthawk, just keep ropecasting them down (takes 3).
It took me about 6 tries but without this video it wouldve been thousands tysm
you forgot to talk about having high accuracy on the weapons, I found out to be impossible without the proper augments
Did it in first try. You can crit strike more than once if they dont die after first one
Good tip for all. Right off the rope hit the tramplers with corruption arrows using the Banuk Champion Bow. That'll give you time to focus solely on the glinthawks
I just did this....got lucky in a way. On attempt number 4, some of those guard dudes were walking by the area when I started attacking and they distracted the Tramplers for me. All I had to do was go after the glinthawks one by one and got it done with a time of 1:24. Talk about great timing.
Easy way of doing this is using the tearblast arrows. Shoot one 2x. Rope it, critical strike it, rope it again then do it the last turn on a different bird.
The Rattler is the best choice for starting the Glinthawk Tie Down Hunter trial. Start trial, take far left rope slide, then jump up a couple levels of the hill there (not too high since you'll be very near the edge of the Trial area). This'll put you out of the reach/notice of the Tramplers. Equip the rattler with the damage only ammo (no shock or freeze ammo), then target and shoot at the one Glinthawk who is flying around (avoid hitting any Tramplers) until his awareness icon goes red. Switch to your Ropecaster and start tieing them down, wait a couple seconds after it takes effect to critical strike them (R1). The flying one you can get twice, and luckily all the other nearby Glinthawks will come join the party for your last critical hit needed for the trial.
Be sure to equip your Banuk anti-Freeze outfit with best Freeze protection mods, and activate the freeze protection potion too. Tear mods on best Ropecaster (Heavy Rope w/ Shadow Ropecaster) you have so you can get down to needing only two ropes to tie them down, maybe 3 or 4 with Carja Medium Ropecaster.
use fire arrows, much better. you take them to the floor with two shoots, then use the rope and critical hit. I did it on my first try no problem at all
I did it in 1:11. By far the easiest way to do this trial is to triple load a Shadow Hunter Bow or a Bank Striker Bow with fire arrows, and one shot to the center of the glindhawk will almost definitely bring him down. Tie him down with three ropecaster shots, stand there and wait for the critical hit prompt, then hit him.
Something that made it super easy for me: load three fire arrows from your hunter bow to shoot the glinthawk with. Instantly brings them down!
This is by far the best advice here
Tip for PC players. Fire arrows. 2 of them will force it to land 100% of the time. You don't even have to fully charge it, quick hit at mid-range will get it down in at most 4 tries.
man and i thought i am the only one with rage. if not only i am on a tight budget,, i will have smashed the controller to pieces.. anyway its possible to critical strike twice on a same bird. Tried my luck and got counted twice!
You can go close to the ridge where they are sitting bit on the left u[ on the tiny ridge then you can just jump on., the tramplers can't get there. And you can hit the same bird 2 times when you down it if you are fast enough.
Here's my tip. Shoot them anywhere with a couple of fire arrows. they will immediately fall down. tie them and wait for the stun symbol. then go close and wait for Strike attack option to appear and hit R1. then again wait for the Strike attack option to appear and hit it again. this time the bird will die. then go after another.
An easier way to do this is just to take left rope down where nothing will bother you, kite over a hawk and tie him down, Use 3 Ropes, 2 will tie him down, Critical strike him, then use another rope, then repeat. You can do 3 critical strikes off one glinthawk and its over in few seconds this way.
ANYONE REPLAYING THE GAME BEFORE WEST READ THIS FOR THIS QUEST. All you need to do is shock arrow any high bird to the floor. Rope cast two times. R1 crit it.
You can use the same bird again if it doesn't die!
If the bulls are in the way ROPE THEM ONE OR TWO TIMES. You don't need a full tie down to stall them. The quest is EASY if you follow these instructions.

I wanted a blazing sun so my first attempt I cancelled on my 2nd attempt I went the rope on the right as it puts u on a stand away from the tramplers shot one down then his buddy came and was behind me on the rocks ( to my advantage) and tied 2nd one down and got 2 crits on his done and done and no messy tramplers !
Did it in around 5 tries and got 2:01.... it then took me another 10 attempts to get the blazing sun.... Maybe I should have stocked up on healing mats though because I was getting swarmed with 0 healing. Not fun in the slightest, but I'm glad I got it out of the way so I can play the rest of the game. Didn't expect the second hunting grounds I came across to have such a painful challenge... the Nora Hunting ground challenges were super easy
guys once the birds get close enough tie them down, they come chasing down then you can get the critical and if the Ravengers are getting to you tie them down also helps a bit
I got SO lucky, second try - I got hit by a trampler while critical hitting and managed to do it twice within 1 second
I upgraded my rope pouch to lvl5 so I had plenty of ammo and just went nuts with the carja rope caster with two mods, handling and tear. I was also roping the tramplers to keep them away from me.
Just got it on my second try. Its easier if you just go down the right zipline. You will have all 3 waiting for you and less conflict with the Tramplers
Not sure if I was lucky or not.. got it on my second try. Take the left rope down, and shoot one bird with fire arrows to lure it near. Once it's near, shoot another one for it to fall to the ground. That should be your first strike. After this, the birds should be swarming all around you. Once one get close enough to the ground, shoot it to keep it from flying off with the rope caster. I was about to get two critical strikes before it flew off. Done in 1:31.
If you hit the hawks with fire arrows anywhere they fall no matter what because they are weak to fire. If that makes it easier for anyone I am glad
Use fire arrow instead. Glinthawks will fall down instantly. Then use tie rope. And hit it with critical. Then that's it. I finished this trial in 1 min and 25 secs only.
0:35 It could've been much easier if you just chose the other rope. You could just stand on the platform, shoot and tie a bird, kill it on the ground, and return to the platform for the next one. It's a pretty easy trial when you don't need to walk among the bulls. 😉
I went to the right side and close to the wall. No tramplers ever came there. I was over level 50 and the birds kept dying. Once I went to the right and back to the wall I lured one bird with a shot or two then ONLY used the ropecaster to bring them out of the sky. It worked really well.
Upvote this for visibility: If you cannot get 2 Critical Strikes on 1 Glinthawk, up the difficulty (I went from Easy to Normal) so they have more HP. Just use Fire Arrows to lure them onto you so you dont aggro the Tramplers.

This might be a little late to the game but I just started replaying this. You can perform more than one critical hit on a bird. You don't need to bring down three different birds. I only brought down two
anyone having trouble with this one, the way i did was: i killed the 3 tramplers first with blast bombs. then waited for the birds to come to me and tied them down. finished in 1:42.
This challenge is complete horseshit. It might not be that bad if the damn critical strike prompt WOULD ACTUALLY SHOW UP more than 30% of the time...
reading all the comments, I guess I take for granted I got this completed on the first try.
I wouldn't suggest trying this one until end game.
Just tear arrow the chest of the birds, then CONSTANTLY strafe the Chargers while you're tying down the birds and waiting for the Crit icon.

You can do the same bird multiple times if you don’t kill it also fire arrows will bring the birds down instantly

What I did was take out the tramplers first. It increases your odds. Because they will run over the bird that is down and kill them. So while I attacked one bird. The other 2 went to the tramplers to feed. I tied the last two down at the same time.
This one is much easier if you don't shoot the blue thing off of your first targets chest. If you just rope them directly from the sky, you can pull off 2 criticals on 1 hawk.

I was really worried when I read the comments but it turned out to be so easy! Just hit it twice with fire arrow and it will drop down and do the rest ..

Did mine first try 2:02 tried again and got 1:44 it’s hard but it’s mainly luck on ur side especially if u get the birds on higher ground so u won’t worry about the tramplers
Fire arrows work best on bringing those suckers down. Once they are on fire they will land immediately or... more like, fall down from the sky.
The trick is to kill the tramplers without catching the Glinthawks attentions, then when they swoop down to eat the tramplers just go ham on the rope caster and theres your criticals

You know what worked for me...using the LURE to call one over. You can get two critical strikes on the first one pretty quickly.
I used the tears last arrow on them. Hit once they blow and they're on the ground no matter where it stuck.

I somehow managed to get this trial in 1:22 ;-; after so many attempts. It actually ended up being sooo easy. Jump down the right rope and while ur still on the platform, shoot the bird with the rope caster about 4 or 5 times jump off the platform and crit kill it. RUN AWAY from the tramples over to the big rock and do the same to the other birds. Tramplers didn’t follow me after a certain distance and should be the same for everyone else?
My issue is the fucking birds getting range. They hover just out of range of the ropecaster and despite advice to make them fall with arrows, no matter what Inuse they stay in the air.

I went around to the platform on the left, got one bird there, then to the back platform and got the other 2 there.
For anyone struggling with this, you can tie down and critital strike the same glinthawk twice
Okay I did it in 1:36 here how use fire arrows, slide down first rope when bird close by, use shadow ropecaster and also put the difficulty into easy mode temporarily
This part of this game caused me to play different games and I js recently came back to try to pass it
I used Banuk Culling Bow with fire to drop them instantly drop to group and spam ropecaster 3 times and then a critical hit
*QUICK TIP:*
Use Fire Arrow (e.g. Carja or Shadow Hunting Bow) to bring the bird down in just a SINGLE shot and then spam em' with the Ropecaster
I found something interesting. I shot the bird down with fire tri-shot, he drops then you pin him down and critical strike, if its not dead after the first critical strike wait like a second and you can do it again. So technically one bird and two critical strikes.
1:16 took out the big boys with my improved storm slinger and then just roped the birds when there got close enough
Don't do a critical hit the first time you bring a bird down with a fire arrow. I did this and i got two critical hits on one bird. Saved me A LOT of time.
The only reason I got the blazing sun is that it DOES let you get two critical strikes on the same bird on one tie-down. For this reason I recommend not bringing them down from range and just waiting for them to get super close to you.
The lure doesn't work any more. Too far away. Shoot a fire arrow instead. When it falls, rope it. Then stand next to it and wait for the critical strike option. You might get a couple of hits one one bird and then will need to do a second.
