What should be frequency of shampooing in a week and if 3-4 in a week then how to clean head on other days. Because if I don't do shampoo daily the next day I got heavy dandruff and hairfall. Hi! Do you mean to say that t is topical form of Finasteride that you are using? That has very little absorption into the tissues to have any effect on the hair bulb. Yes you can take saw palmetto since topical Finasteride effect is almost non-existent.

I never advise starting Saw palmetto. It might have been in some other context. i do not believe that any natural product is sufficient to block DHT in progressive baldness especially if it happens at an early age.
Dr you wrote in the mail that "Your situation is not grim at all ,You can take saw Palmetto daily and apply Minoxidil 5 percent at night .You will be fine" .

Would you mind doing a video on "Hijama" or Cupping therapy for hair loss. You can stop the product for 2 months and see how your levels will return to normal. However it is surprising that stinging nettle is causing this since it has only weak DHT blocking properties.

Oral finasteride and topical minoxidil are the only FDA approved medicines for hair loss which are known to stop progression of baldess and to make it look denser. Saw palmetto has a plant-based DHT blocker. It is applied on the scalp. However, it is not as effective as finasteride. I would like to mention here that you should get your total testosterone levels checked. This would help your doctor analyse whether you would have side-effects with finasteride or not. Side effects with finasteride are rare and occur in people who already have something known as hypogonadism. Hence before starting finasteride I always advise my patients to get their tstosterones levels checked. If they are normal, none of my patients complain of sexual problems. Moreover, these side-effects are completely reversible after stopping the intake.
Does taking saw palmetto decrease your beard and facial hair growth because the beard growth is activated and stimulated by DHT. So with less DHT there is less beard growth isn´t it ??
Yes sure but oil will makes hair appear thinner. This is the same reason why many don't like to use Minoxidil during the day. Also saw palmetto is best taken orally for the mild effect it produces. I suspect local applications will be barely effective. And I don't have experience with topical Saw Palmetto . None of my patients applied it in oil form for their baldness.

If after a hair transplant, then use baby shampoo for 6 months. Otherwise, use a mild shampoo on alternate days. Other days just wash with plain shower and not a shampoo.

All DHT blockers are like shield preventing the hair from DHT. When you stop, taking a DHT blocker, the hair so maintained will all fall off within 30 days. Saw Palmetto is a weak DHT blocker so the hairfall will not be so dramatic.
In my experience never. Pharmacological grade DHT blockers only will help. But you never know you may be one of those in whom it may act since there are many happy stories on the net too.

Also, since you have have gynecomastia- is this due to hanging skin folds due to weight loss or is their a prominent gland tissue under the nipples? If the latter, please get your total testosterone and estrogen levels doe in a nearby lab.I can then guide you regarding medication.

Rogaine and Microneedling are fine. Only Tab Finasteride is a DHT blocker worth considering. All else are commercial profit oriented products without clinical basis.

Women who are not menopausal are not advised DHT blockers. All DHT blockers should be stopped 60 days befre planning pregnancy. However, sawpalmetto has not much effect since it is not pharmacological grade. But never take a chance.
My doctor gave me just a zinc tablets after my hair transplant surgery. And have asked just to take it. Is that a DHT blocker?? Or should i take finastride and stop zinc tablets. I do take biotin 1 tablet everyday . Thanks in advance doctor, your knowledge has helped many people like us.❤

There are several formulations made by different companies. The most effective dosage of saw palmetto when dried supplement or oily liquid extract are used is 160-320 mg daily.

Use normal shampoo. Alternate days use baby shampoo. Ince a week use 2% Nizoral shampoo.

Thanks for sharing. Minoxidil is good for hair regrowth but it has no effect on the progression of baldness since it is not a DHT blocker.

I never advise starting Saw palmetto. It might have been in some other context. i do not believe that any natural product is sufficient to block DHT in progressive baldness especially if it happens at an early age.
Dr you wrote in the mail that "Your situation is not grim at all ,You can take saw Palmetto daily and apply Minoxidil 5 percent at night .You will be fine" .

You can stop the product for 2 months and see how your levels will return to normal. However it is surprising that stinging nettle is causing this since it has only weak DHT blocking properties.

Oral finasteride and topical minoxidil are the only FDA approved medicines for hair loss which are known to stop progression of baldess and to make it look denser. Saw palmetto has a plant-based DHT blocker. It is applied on the scalp. However, it is not as effective as finasteride. I would like to mention here that you should get your total testosterone levels checked. This would help your doctor analyse whether you would have side-effects with finasteride or not. Side effects with finasteride are rare and occur in people who already have something known as hypogonadism. Hence before starting finasteride I always advise my patients to get their tstosterones levels checked. If they are normal, none of my patients complain of sexual problems. Moreover, these side-effects are completely reversible after stopping the intake.
Does taking saw palmetto decrease your beard and facial hair growth because the beard growth is activated and stimulated by DHT. So with less DHT there is less beard growth isn´t it ??

If after a hair transplant, then use baby shampoo for 6 months. Otherwise, use a mild shampoo on alternate days. Other days just wash with plain shower and not a shampoo.

Also, since you have have gynecomastia- is this due to hanging skin folds due to weight loss or is their a prominent gland tissue under the nipples? Women who are not menopausal are not advised DHT blockers. All DHT blockers should be stopped 60 days befre planning pregnancy. However, sawpalmetto has not much effect since it is not pharmacological grade. But never take a chance.

It's not more effective to use more minoxidil than recommended, you could apply it topically and take it orally as well.
But that depends upon if your baldness is stable or not. If it is not, you cannot do without a DHT blocker. Minoxidil and PRP will not help.
