It's true! 😃 I was at Dimash's concert in Prague, Dimash asked in which language we want him to sing for us! 🤗He sang halfway in Japanese and then switched to Chinese! He is a living legend!🥰❤️
I’ve missed you here, I’m a die hard fan of Dimash’s. Love others too but he’s my go to. Love your reactions, you don’t swear like a sailor to make your point & you’re very on point, more Dimash please !
Thanks for another amazing reaction. Dimash is always astounding. “Ikanaide (please don’t go)” Verse 1 Nothing, I can’t see anything I have been crying all this time Not because of sorrow Just grateful to feel your warmth Chorus Ah…. Please don’t go Please don’t go Please don’t ever let us separate Ah…. Please don’t go Please don’t go Stay with me forever Verse 2 Someday…..my heart will …..someday… Be somewhere far away Everything will remain only as a memory Though it’s better not to know It’s better not to know Ikanaide was used as the title song for a 1989 TV series "Farewell, Lixianglan" co-produced by China and Japan, about a Japanese actress Yoshiko Yamaguchi (12 Feb 1920 - 7 Sept 2014) who was born in China. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li Xianglan. She became famous in China during World War II. However, once the war was over and her identity was revealed, she was accused of being a spy and was deported to Japan. She didn't return to China for many years. Ms Yamaguchi did return to China in her later years as the Japanese Parliamentary Vice Minister of Environment. This song is saying goodbye to her Chinese name Li Xianglan. It is also a metaphor, as the lyrics speak of how a person has to hide what she feels inside. In 1993, Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung adapted it into Mandarin with the meaning of the song different from that of the original. He called it Late Autumn. In 2004 the Taiwanese singer and Dimash's friend, Terry Lin, adapted the song into a new Mandarin version entitled "Autumn Strong”. Dimash performed the Terry Lin version (Autumn Strong) when he participated in the 2017 The Singer competition in China. He sang it in Episode 4 of the competition and it was his first time singing in Mandarin. Regarding Dimash’s Japanese performance, a Japanese reactor said that Dimash’s pronunciation was perfect. It was as good as a native speaker’s. It shows how much of a perfectionist Dimash is and how many hours he must have spent on his pronunciation and delivery. In addition, Goro Matsui, who wrote the lyrics to “Ikanaide” praised Dimash’s performance and said: “I’ve heard ‘Ikanaide’ sung by foreign singers in their native language many times. Even though they all sing great, none of them seemed to quite capture the sound/reverberation and meaning of the original lyrics and perceive the emotions between the lines. In this song, the phrase ~ Ah, ikanaide~ is repeated several times in the chorus. Although they are the same exact words, each line has a different meaning. “But this is the first time anyone has sung it so beautifully in Japanese. I happened to find Dimash singing “Ikanaide” by chance. The first thing that surprised me was his crystal clear tone and his expressive voice that conveys the lyrics of the song.”
Please don't go/ Ikanaide Nothing visible, nothing I have been crying throughout Not because I feel sorrowful But because of the delight of feeling your warmth
Ah… Please don't go away, please don't go away Please don't ever ever let us separate Ah… Please don't go away, please don't go away Let's remain this way
Someday my heart, someday Will be somewhere afar That everything will turn into memory Though it's better not to know Though it's better not to know
Ah… Please don't go away, please don't go away Whenever it is, don't let us separate Ah… Please don't go away, please don't go away Let's remain this way

Dimash sings a version of this song in Chinese as well. Both are stunning, but also very different. At his recent Prague concert, he asked us in the audience if we wanted to hear it in Chinese or Japanese. Of course, everyone yelled different answers. So what did he do? He started the song in Chinese and then SEAMLESSLY switched to the Japanese version mid-song! It was incredible!

👉Dimash sang this song on the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2022. Because of the pandemic, the annual Tokyo Jazz Festival took place online again (Pandemic). In 2021 Dimash also participated in the famous annual Tokyo Online Festival with 2 songs: * S.O.S. - ua-cam.com/video/sE-9fQTFyas/v-deo.html * Samaltau - ua-cam.com/video/OLrFs0WRxgY/v-deo.html The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, Don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics.. You need to react a to Samaltau. Tokyo Jazz Festival 2020. It’s the story told by a young Kazakh man who was taken from his village by the Russians to fight and make trenches in WWI. Those men were forced to walk from their homes to the Samal mountains in the border with Russia. The main instrument is the Kobyz. I really enjoyed your reactions. Take care. ❤️🙏🕊
If anyone wants to hear original version(s) of this song, the first one is the Japanese, Ikanaide by Koji Tamaki. There’s a beautiful live performance on UA-cam. Then, apparently Jacky Cheung wrote the Chinese versionS! The first one in Cantonese, named after the actress it was about, Li Xianglan (her Chinese name.) THEN Jacky also wrote the Mandarin lyrics/version which is called Late Autumn or Autumn Strong as I see it written. It took me a long time as an English speaker, trying to find info on the internet about which version was first and who wrote the Chinese versions, and then to find out the first Chinese one was Cantonese. I don’t think Dimash knows Cantonese or has attempted to sing in it, lol. It’s worth checking all of those out. Ikanaide feels the most intensely emotional. The way it’s sung live, the “ahhhh” part is so clear but also just sounds like crying/wailing, it’s amazing. I also found it interesting how relatively simple (but beautiful and sad) the Ikanaide lyrics are, translated into English. The Chinese versions both introduce a lot more complexity, stuff about drinking wine and the seasons changing, and I’m especially in love with the (English translation of) the Mandarin lyrics. I just love seeing how songs get translated and the choices that are made to have it match the melody and tone, sometimes it changes the lyrics a LOT.
Can you check out Daneliya Tuleshova? She's a 16 yr old Kazakhstani that Dimash rates really highly. So under rated and unappreciated. Her skyfall+Toxic mashup is magic. Or her "Not about Angels" cover where she sounds so delicate and beautiful.
Was that your version of a Mike Drop Chris!? 🙃🤣 You got the attention of my kitten. He went round the back of the laptop and under the table to see where they went. Fynn is an habitual Pen Thief . (# Warning; when you teach your cat to chase 'cat > mice clips' on your laptop they pat the touch screen in the middle of whatever you're watching, and send you to some other site - sit on the keyboard and delete stuff... 😵💫) Yes, agree. Dimash's control is phenomenal. I think the subtlety and nuances of his skill is really showcased here in this sensitive piece. A story of loss and longing.
My favourite song soooooooo good, thanks 👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤

“Ikanaide (please don’t go)”
Verse 1
Nothing, I can’t see anything
I have been crying all this time
Not because of sorrow
Just grateful to feel your warmth
Chorus
Ah…. Please don’t go Please don’t go
Please don’t ever let us separate

The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, Don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics.. Both are based on a true story.
The Chinese version shows the image of leaves dancing in the autumn wind as a metaphor for how fate affected Yoshiko Yamaguchi's life. ...sad but inevitable and irrevocably
The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss, is full of pain, pleads, suffers ... heartbreaking.
I'm totally fascinated by how sensitively Dimash distinguishes and conveys to the listener the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version. That is true mastery.
The original Japanese version Ikanaide/ Don’t Go(composed 1989) is by Koji Tamaki (*1958, Japanese songwriter).
The sad true story... very touching: It is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi (*1920-2014), a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling.

In 1993, Jacky Cheung (*1961, singer and actor in Hongkong) adapted the song into Chinese Mandarin, calling it Late Autumn: ua-cam.com/video/dtM2EsgHD3M/v-deo.html

Wow amazing 😻
❤❤❤
Keep dropping those highlighters! lol

pelese react to Masked singer - Our Love dimash
Was that your version of a Mike Drop Chris!? 🙃🤣 You got the attention of my kitten. He went round the back of the laptop and under the table to see where they went. Fynn is an habitual Pen Thief . (# Warning; when you teach your cat to chase 'cat > mice clips' on your laptop they pat the touch screen in the middle of whatever you're watching, and send you to some other site - sit on the keyboard and delete stuff... 😵💫)
Yes, agree. Dimash's control is phenomenal. I think the subtlety and nuances of his skill is really showcased here in this sensitive piece. A story of loss and longing.
could you react to the song "the show must Go on" in Rick Vallen's version please he is simply one of the greatest performers in Brazil ✨🇧🇷❤️
I'm just waiting for you to react to Daybreak-Bastau now. The emotions are intense.
