Either one is genius. Dimash is the living embodiment of music. He says if you cut him open you would find music all the way through. So, he probably inks AND improvises, either separately in different songs or in the same song but in different parts of it. I do know that he practises every nuance of the song in his mind and every physical move he wants to make in advance. In rehearsal clips, you can see him doing it. Walking up and down, making moves, singing gently. He creates it, he practises it, he changes it, he practises it again, until the outside matches exactly what he feels is right on the inside. And that can also change according to how he feels at the moment of performance. Even when he has sung it a hundred times, every time can be different from the last. What he does with his voice is unparalleled to any other singer. I like josh Groban but he sings Josh Groban. There’s a beginning and an end to his songs. Now he's got the years of study out of the way for his PhD in Musicology in composition to commit his musical genius to paper at some future point. Still has to polish the 60,- 80,000 word dissertation for final award.
I was in his concert in Prague on 16 Apr 2022. Before he start this song he asked the audience jokingly if they want this song Chinese version or Japanese version. The audience screamed. Dimash said: OK, I will sing both. And part of the song he sang in Chinese and part in Japanese, and yes, as you said it was sick, he did not miss any note, pitch or nuances of the song, just like recording. Dimash is the monster of vocals!

You missed him. He was in New York in November, 2019with Krutoy making his birthday tour. Then Dimash came back in December, 2019 for a full solo concert. He perform at the Barklay Center in Brooklyn. Then COVID hit the world. He wants to come to America to study jazz and R&B. Dimash is a musician not just a singer. He is very much involved in the production of his music! He is working on his doctorate in music. I think that’s also one of the things that makes him special. He not only can sing it, he knows a lot about it, 😊

I read in the past that for a new song, he would go into his bedroom/studio and go through it all for a week to internalise it. By now it is probably fairly automatic. He would be sleepy in school as a child from staying up all night working on a song. He is right in his destiny with all his focus and drive and inspiration….and he absolutely loves it and those who listen and see it all.

You missed him. He was in New York in November, 2019with Krutoy making his birthday tour. Then Dimash came back in December, 2019 for a full solo concert. He perform at the Barklay Center in Brooklyn. Then COVID hit the world. He wants to come to America to study jazz and R&B. Dimash is a musician not just a singer. He is very much involved in the production of his music! He is working on his doctorate in music. I think that’s also one of the things that makes him special. He not only can sing it, he knows a lot about it, 😊

Mr. Harris is the best interpreter of Dimash, since it is so unlikely that a normal person can understand so many subtleties, we need a translator. I read in the past that for a new song, he would go into his bedroom/studio and go through it all for a week to internalise it. By now it is probably fairly automatic. He would be sleepy in school as a child from staying up all night working on a song. He is right in his destiny with all his focus and drive and inspiration….and he absolutely loves it and those who listen and see it all.
