"we're going to paint, a little baby indian"
the way she said this had me dying of laughter
Jayem Plays lmao if it was a White baby she'd be like we're going to paint a white baby lmfao
funny guy ever heard of context?
Jayem Plays she should have said we are going to paint a Injun baby today!!
@@sampraz1990 I think you mean pink baby.
Ha ha so not her fault that someone titled it Indian girl when she’s painting a boy.
So cool, she did an amazing job. That lady is talented and she painted that feather brilliantly fast.
She is of sioux oglala heritage.and this is a 1985 video.she did a good job.she also has a gentle demeanor that complements bob ross videos
Ahh! 😃
Didn't Know that. She just looked like a white lady.
But her name, Sirois, is from French origin. Nowadays, it is rare in France but very common in Quebec (Canada). Maybe her ancestor was a French explorer of the 18th century who married an Indian woman. This was not uncommon.
@@jackwilliams5474 A lot of us do, especially when intertwined with Celtic heritages. 🙂
One of my favorite comments sections. Spent most of the episode just scrolling down and some of these had me dying, I was in tears. People were funny 6 years ago lol
Same.
Just wanted to add some positivity to the comments here. I think the painting was decent considering the rushed atmosphere and obvious nervous energy. She obviously has talent and given ample time I think she'd make amazing paintings. Very well done for being rushed.
Agreed. I get it people don't like the guests, but they didn't have to hate on them. The painting is decent like you said, but it is not bad at all and people really shouldn't be hating on it.
I agree, Kyle. From my experience, accurate well done portraits usually take days to weeks to accomplish particularly well. The fact that she only had a half hour speaks well of her talent given that it looks so well that it does.
Donald Labshere- wow, get a life.
@@AlexandraBolz i think the guests are the best part of this. i love Bob but his friends bring so much to the show, some of them are amazing and dare i say even better painters than Bob!
I agree the poor woman was terribly nervous
I m from India , I love this channel and by Indian she ment the Native Americans and I don't see any problems with that and this painting was not made in 2020 so please stop complaining ..... It's a really very good portrait I loved it 🙏😇
So glad to see there are fans of this show all the way in India!
That doesn't fly in today's world. Christopher Columbus dumbass thought he was India, which is why he called the natives, Indians....
You know I've never seen an American Indian and an India Indian together.
Wow! A reasonable portrait in a half hour. You out there try that!! Great job, Ferne!!!
I like it. I think it's really cool that Bob Ross would show viewers things like this on occasion that they may not see otherwise.
Bob Ross painted three versions of every painting he featured on the show. By the time season 5 rolled around, I'm sure he was dying to bring in a few other people to carry episodes. It was good for them and good for him.
I could listen to Fern talk and paint all day. She has such a cute positive attitude. It's a great presentation despite the time constraints.
I love it when Bob Ross has guests showing off THEIR painting skills on the Joy of Painting. It shows how people have different ways of doing things, and I love that diversity. Life is like this too. In this World, people, places, and things are diverse and different, and that makes life great and fun to live!
I just googled Ferne and the reference painting is SO MUCH better. It's truly the time constraint and nerves that murdered the creative energy, I think. She did a watercolor at one point that was freakin gorgeous. 😍
I thought she did great honestly I was surprised to read these comments afterward
Could you share the link you found of her for me please? 🥰😃 Considering all the limitations she had on her - you can still definitely see her amazing abilities!!! 🎨

19:58 is that sound a stomach growling?
+Ozzy had to turn volume way up to hear that xD
nicely done

congrats you made my night
HAHAH I love how these're so little going on in this episode that people are literally sitting round timing out the minutia of gurgling sounds to share with each other. AAhhhhhhh *sigh
Grrrrrr rump
she had 25 min to paint a portrait. You try that. it's not exactly like painting bushes and trees with a 2 inch brush
Tyson Rinker oi you degrading bob
@@JoeyProductions2468 no, he is just pointing out that it is much more time consuming to paint a portrait rather than a landscape. There were people speaking poorly of her because she did not finish it. :)
@@JoeyProductions2468 Don't be so sensitive, you weiner. 🤦♂️
I thought she did a good job; certainly light years better than anything I could dream of
Talk about Bob like that again and I’m sending 25 big black men to your house
You know Bob was standing in the back thinking; "...the f*ck did I just put on the show".
Ha!

I can't stop laughing at this comment cause it's true.
I dont understand what everyone are complaining about to me it looks really good and unique
It’s because she said Indian. Wtf I’m going to say injun and in 2019 this should start WW3. 😂😂😂
It's risky to say that now. It's also a bit racial and it's not accurate. They are native Americans not "Indian"
She's Sioux. It's always white people that get bent out of shape about this stuff. Even if she were 100% European, this was shot like four decades ago, and you can tell she doesn't have a malicious bone in her body.
@@b3127R actually native american is less accurate and even more insulting as America is what destroyed their way of life. Pretty sure none identify with America as they are all part of sovereign nations. All whom I've known in the US have preferred to be referred to by their tribal name; the only term I've heard used, while on reservation, to refer to them collectively was first nations but I'm sure every tribe is different

The title says ¨Indian girl¨ but she keeps saying it's an Indian boy.
Lolzzzzz 😅🤣🤪🤩 Hilarioussssss
She started with girl too so can you blame them for the confusion?
Its little Indian genderfluid
Not to mention, she sometimes refers to it as ‘my face’, too. 😂🤪🥴
The girl felt like a boy that day.
The things people pick-out in these videos, from the sounds of sirens, rumbling stomach's to little quotes is amazing! XD
i just heard her tummy growl at 19:57
listen carefully
crazygamerxd134y awesomeness heard it
Oh, I love it...
I heard that happen in an episode with Steve in it once
10:01 to 19:08 I was like WHEN IS SHE GONNA BLEND THE BLOODY SUNCREAM IF THE KIDS FACE
the whole time I was like "wtf wtf wtf" but by the end it looked pretty nice
I love these portrait videos. The guest painters do a great job even though they are given a strict time limit.
To all the haters please realize that this is a 25 min painting. If you have any doubt at her skill Ben Stahl (who is a famous artist) has also done a 25 min portrait on this show ("portrait of sally"), compare it to that rather than some photo-realistic oil painting that took 10h to make.
I think it is better than the Ben Stahl portrait.
I didn't expect photo realism, but I did expect little things like it not to look like the kid's been through Vietnam.
What was amazing is how composed she was when OJ's white bronco and squad cars went by the studio.
"This is going to be a little Indian Boy"

YOU HAD ONE JOB.
And you blowed it
Lolzz
So what
You job had one
24:31 - You *know* those sirens were the cops chasing down Bob, as he quickly tried to burn his weed stash behind the studio XD
Kecu LOOOOOL!!
Ahaha

3:00 Me coming home from the pub drunk as balls painting happy little trees with ketchup and condiments using my hand as a brush all over the place thinking I'm Bob. Wake up the next morning realising it wasn't a dream...
Her painting was honestly really good. The hate in the comments is ridiculous.
"I'm gon let her have it" 😂
6:55 "wanna know how I got these scars?"
Oh my goodness, I literally thought the same thing! XD
I'm crying laughing
Why is everyone hating on the painting? I thought the face looked good.
Because its not bob, probably.
@Taimoor Khan Yeah those are things, but I can tell you that the other portrait guy (the one who did it in sepia-tone) got SO much hate. Simple fact is, people come here to either see Bob, or incredible artwork.. So if it falls short the hate will flow.
But the "Everyone's a critic" saying has been around a LONG time, so this is nothing new.
I'm sure the most hateful comments are from people who barely do any form of art, and get a kick out of putting people down.
@@DevDreCW because the other guy made a mutant clay monster instead of a woman
The handband makes me think this 'Indian' is about to visit Pearl Harbor.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
8:12, "I'm just going to load my brush with a pure white..."
sweetheart, that paint ain't nearly as white as you are
Now this comment, cheered me right up!
this. cringed so hard at 'we'll call him little one-feather'
"Sweetheart" are you gay??? And Kwiatkowski you sir must be white as fuck.
Well now that's racist

Take the pin out and throw it back.
Bob's rockin the heavy pancake, with the disco medallion !
Considering that was done in 25 minutes that's not too bad.
Looks like Bob was headed to the disco after the taping of this show.

Yep. Whoever labeled it screwed up badly!
I literally died when she said, "We're going to paint a little baby INDIAN"

Interesting that this painting was called "Indian Girl," when she stated at three times that she was painting an Indian boy called "One Feather." She also refers to the baby as "him and his" while painting the hair. Maybe Verne is the Indian girl?
Maybe there should have been an episode of Joy of Painting where someone painted a portrait of Bob Ross with him sitting there as the model. He could possibly ask that painter a few questions and make comments.
portraits looks like very difficult to make, I'm very impressed by the people who can make them
22:17 The face you make when someone got you fucked up
not at all
ive noticed that ppl out there really be hating on everyone if it’s not bob ross. or his son.
The face itself isn't bad and the highlight blending it's pretty great but the colors and background were seemingly sloppy and really off.
it honestly feels unfinished, as if she needed more time to do the rest
Gabrielle B the background colours looks as if the indian was standing in front of a campfire

gotta say the end result is pretty neat. I mean, it ain't one of those highly detailed potrait but it's pretty good.
No where near as avant-garde as I had expected from the thumbnail.
Wasn't until the feather I realised she was talking about a Native American. I think it's a great painting considering how quickly she had to do it and especially when she laid down the first layer of the face
Weird. She says it right off the bat

Poor rats

Very good painting considering the time needed to do it.
THIS is why I did my 24 painting concentration on landscapes...
Lol
Is it me, or does Bob have a voice that's made for being a DJ hosting a quiet storm session on radio?!
I love her comment about the "comma on the light-source side, period on the opposite side" method. I use the same to make cabochons and other jewels, and now I shall try it with my portraits. 🙂
Bob is holding shinnok’s amulet he will be the next mortal kombat villain
"I buttered it up with my medium" sounds very dirty
i like her portrait. came out nice!
I just saw this episode last night...it reminds me of a finger painting I did in Pre-K
"young lady"
Alright, Two Options:
1. She's actually shy
2. She eats soul's for breakfast
Both.
I remember trying to recreate this! It came out awful but I had so much fun...and I was only a little child( it was either 2006 or 2007)
Good times! 😊😇
That was a good painting, i dont get all the people complaining
Actually turned out way better than I thought it would. Lol
In her defense, it is very difficult to paint a portrait in less than half an hour. A proper portraits takes days or weeks.
It looks like the tv station decided Bob needed to wear makeup for this episode.
I love this woman. I'd marry her even if she is older than my parents.
Great 1hr beginners class done in 25 minutes.
Same.
I love it! A wonderful job she did on that "lil Injun!"
You know, some of these have aged better than others.
The painting is just as good today as it was then. Amazing for 25 minutes
He saw her other paintings before flying her in, right?
Its a boy
Yeah, they done goofed in the title
She should have painted 3 little Indian boys. One little 2 little 3 little Injuns. 4 little 5 lil. Omg did I just say injun!!!
Done in 25 mins? This is some good work.
That was outstanding
That painting of a disembodied orange head would give me nightmares
Looks amazing
Bob was so good looking here, young and charismatic. So kind and a one of a kind...
Great looking medallion Bob.
Am I the only one who actually really likes this painting
meenadaae no I do too
It turns out well
A portrait in 25 minutes...!
Still can't do that in 25... She's a pro...
Shes been pretty successful all these years wow!
it was such a cute baby omg adorable!!
watching this stresses me out about drawing, watching Bob is very reassuring and comforting. Most people are too structured and freak you out with the detail you need to follow, but Bob's style was so free and easy to interpret into your own way.
I've must of watched Bob Ross a couple hundred times in the early 90s on PBS, but I never remember a portrait.
Must HAVE not must of, but I vaguely remember this episode.
Beautiful
Great painting
These comments have me roollinnggg 😭😂💀😲
hahaha!!!!
Fascinating
26:55 - After Bob says "Bye Bye now" he looks at her like "You aint neva coming back lady" lulz.
VanillaBeast lol
They still aired the episode, it couldn't have been that bad.
Oh how the times have changed
Idc how it looks.. these techniques are so helpful.
I don't know what sounds weirder, the phrase, "A little baby Indian" or how she said it.
Very cute
It looks like an Oompa Loompa.
Probably the only painting on this show I could actually recreate. Still, thanks for uploading!
To all the hate, this is a product of it's time. Yeah, this lady definitely lacks the pure enjoyment that Bob brought to the painting, but this shows purpose (especially in the earlier seasons) wasn't asmr, but to teach people how to paint. This painting teaches people how to paint a portrait in this particular style and it achieved its goal.
One Feather rules
You mean you're going to paint a baby Native American or better yet an infant Native American. Anything other than Today we are going to paint a baby Indian lol.
