Here in Canada if you go camping anywhere wild the LAST thing you do is cook in your tent or keep food in it - unless you want a close, personal encounter with a bear! And gas cookers with a big pot of water on top is trouble about to happen. Years ago I made a wooden base with holes for dowels that grip the gas canister tight. And I attached grommets to the base so I can spike it into the ground. Extra weight to carry, but worth it.
Same- I'm in Montana and the whole cooking scene had me cringing... all of his gear is now a smellable 😂. They also now make snap-on feet for the fuel canisters, so I'd highly recommend getting some. They're plastic and weigh barely an ounce or two.

There’s an even worse thing that can happen to a camper. My friend was camping overnight near a lake, in a forest, in a tent very similar to this guy’s. While he was sleeping, some bigfoots pulled all the spikes out of the ground. Then one of the bigfoots grabbed the tent by the bottom corner and started whirling the tent around and around and around, with my friend still in it. Then when he was done, another bigfoot did the same thing. Started whirling his tent, with him still inside around and around and around. And then another one did the same, until one of them whirled him around and tossed his tent, with him inside of it, into the lake. It didn’t end there. The bigfoots stood at the edge of the water on the beach, and they were laughing at my friend, pointing at him and jeering at him. My friend was lucky. He was camping on level ground near a lake. Much unlike this guy, who is camping on the top of a mountain near a cliff. So yeah, there are worse things that could’ve happened to this guy than an edgy windstorm.
