- Many democracy advocates around the world exhaled after the election of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, also known as Lula, and hoped for greater cooperation on the global stage. Yet, while there are areas of agreement, the United States and Brazil do not always see eye to eye on major challenges like the war in Ukraine and the role of China in the world. Brazil’s current G20 leadership offers a unique opportunity to assert its vision and influence the agenda.
What is President Lula’s vision for its global leadership? Where are bilateral relations between the U.S. and Brazil heading? How can Brazil balance the imperative of climate change while meeting the economic needs of its citizens?
Join Carnegie for an in-person fireside chat between President Lula’s foreign policy advisor, H.E. Ambassador Celso Amorim and Carnegie’s Dan Baer on topics ranging from democracy to climate change, trade, and artificial intelligence. The dialogue will also delve into the U.S.-Brazil Agreement on Trade and Economic Partnership (ATEC) and its potential to foster more trade and investment. Carnegie President Mariano-Florentino (Tino) Cuéllar will deliver opening remarks.

This interviewer is the most arrogant one I have watched in years.
I'm schocked!
Great Celso Amorim. A true lesson in diplomacy, geopolitics and political acumen before a great and powerful host.
Celso Amorim ❤❤❤
Very good analysis.
Celso Amorim is the man!! 😎
30:00 - Interviewer using the "moral" card, instead articulate rationally about the argument!
We are very proud of this great personality of our country! Live long Celso Amorim!
Viva! 🇧🇷🐆
Não temos não,
Celso Amorim, sem sombra de dúvidas, é oq o Instituto Rio Branco tem de melhor.

Um desastre total,
"Rule based order its like a Alice and the wonderland, you change as you wish" ROFL I LOVE YOU SO MUCH CELSO AMORIM
And that how's the west treat us all across the board
We have a perfect “made up” word In Portuguese that throughly describes the interrogator Dan B*er: “IGNORAMUS”.
Um grande diplomata! Orgulho do Brasil!
The interviewer is the absolute worst but what else to expect from a united states of warmongers embassador.
So sorry that Amorim has to socialized with this kind of people on his job. He is a gentleman and should be protected. Only talking with people of his own level. We are talking about the guy who made BRICS a reality ffs.
As a Brazilian, I’m so sorry you don’t actually know who the interviewee really is, what he defends, what kind of stuff he says publicly, and what agenda he defends. A shame all of you be defending Amorim without knowing all the coping he does to Venezuela and other authoritarian regimes.
@@felipecelsoreispinheiro3252 eu sei e ainda defendo. O Celso Amorim é um dos melhores diplomatas do mundo (título esse votado por seus pares na ONU). Os eua não tem diplomacia. Bem vindo Embaixador Amorim.
Imagine taking about BRICS and authoritarian regimes with US's supported coup history around the world, specially in Latin America. That's a special kind of arrogance.
this shows the prepotence of imperialism: a mr. nobody agressively trying to subjugate a kind man who happens to be one of the most importants diplomats in the history of brasil. the fall of us imperialism is not inevitable, it will happen out of it's own arrogance and incapacity to colaborate with important partners that they treat as servants of the will of the empire. the petulance to say history is the way of those who can't follow the "rules" of the "order"! 😂 don't worry, history will have a place for you regardless
Nice reference to social justice

I was surprised by the vulgar aggressiveness and arrogance of the interlocutor Dan Baer. Especially because Celso Amorim is the guest. But to disagree with subtlety and courtesy you need to have intelligence, an attribute that the director of the Carnegie Endowment lacks.
Who this interviewer came from???
shame on him
Wow, Celso Amorim is so old!
He is 82 years old but still very lucid and articulate
the man that writed prefacio book talking good thing from terrorist group Hamas
What is a terrorist group compared to a terrorist state 🇮🇱

I am amazed with the amount of ideological rubbish presented in the "ideas" of Celso Amorim and a bit ashamed this is what Brazil has to present to the world.
this government was "elected" by 51% of Brazilians but with a lot going kn under the table, the establishment was influential and very immoral in many ways using even our corrupt supreme court to put in power a guy who was and should still be in jail, by the way his current vice president also used to say this but he is also part of the game, in short: Brazilian government and it's officials are not a really reliable representatives of our people, values and opinions, we are very suppressed and distorted here, they are tyrants and this is a "trans-democracy"
Embarassing. Shameful.
The way the Brazilian diplomacy has been distorted by heavy ideological biases in the last 8 years is a tragedy! Bolsonaro’s minister was a lunatic and this one (although much more civil and well behaved) is also a complete cuckoo completely taken by ideology. Defending Russia and Lavrov the way he does and drawing absurd equivalences between Iran and USA penal system are simply shameful things to do.
His fanbase is pretty big here, proportionally. Now, the number of people commenting here surprised me, considering how big the stoning thing was in the news here, I expected more.

Hoje vivemos no Brasil onde a criminalidade toma conta novamente.

President Lula should be in jail.
