Since 85 I hated them ,and in 2005 I don't know why ,but I bought one .I took back every bad thing I ever said about them .it's a great pistol and I love it .
I personally am a fan of the M9. As a prior Navy HM it is suprising to see Clint, a Marine praising the M9. Most of the Marines I know trash this gun alot, but I understand why considering the hard use and condition of the M9s we were issued.
Clint , you got your wires crossed Marine. As a retired United States Marine with 34 years of active duty service under my belt ( 1975 - 2009 ) , the Beretta M9 was first issued to the Armed Forces of the United States in 1985 , having had one issued to me in said year ... Semper Fidelis 🇺🇸💪🇺🇸
I’ve been thinking about purchasing one of these and I’ve watched so many videos and done a lot of research, and now I’m finally gonna pull the trigger. Thanks man.
My first pistol purchase and firearm in general, extra mag and case 696.71 out the door and I feel like that wasn't HORRIBLE because I've been looking since about this video came out and never found one in store till now. Felt like the first time I got buck fever
That title is gonna get some attention from the military community. It’s polarizing but I agree. As long as they are taken care is and maintained they are excellent.
It's not a feature. You slap a mag in hard enough, that the inertia from that causes the slide to drop. Now if we were talking Mauser HSc, then it would be an actual feature.
Yeah, a lot of that was the off-brand mags the military was purchasing. Once they starting buying actual beretta mags again, the problems cleared up substantially.
The Checkmate mags were quality mags, but the gov wanted them parkerized. This lead to unreliable mags and guns. When Checkmate was allowed to use the slick baked on finish they wanted, the unreliability issues went away. The Beretta because of it's design, is a super reliable gun.
Beretta 92/M9 mags are cheap and not hard to find. Surplus mags are out there as well, just stay away from any mag that's parkerized. The finish made reliable mags garbage.
I picked up a police special Italian made Beretta 92fs, It came with three magazines like this one, I tore mine completely apart and got rid of all the composite parts replaced those with stainless steel and replaced all the springs with Wilson combat and a Wilson combat extended magazine release
Is the M9 really any different from the 92? I always thought that it was essentially the same gun and that it was just called M9 when it was in military service.
Just the dust cover and grip, stamp marks. The m9 has the older straight dust cover and the new 92fs is angled, and has a beveled grip. M9 has snowman sights and 92fs has 3 dot.
Got a question for anyone that knows, can you change out the front sights on any of the M-9’s???or that style gun in general? Just wondering about a front night sight option.
You can't. The M9 and M9a1 share the fixed front sight like the 92fs. Your options for that is getting it milled off and a dovetail, or a fit over sight pinned through the original. The 92a1 and M9a3 have replacable front sights.
You will never find a real military m9. All the commercials even the special edition are fake. The only real m9s out there are ones generals and officers were able to buy back in the late 80s early 90s and those go for at least 5k
The 92FS comes with the polymer parts but the M9 has all steel components if I’m not mistaken. Although my Italian 92FS came with a steel guide rod & safety/decocker but a polymer coated trigger & lanyard loop.
To my understanding, the slide releasing after slamming a loaded mag in, is a design flaw. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but a lot of handguns had/have that "problem" (there are people who prefer it, that's why I contradict the word PROBLEM). For example, the S&W M&P series handguns had that same "problem," but was corrected in the M&P 2.0 series. Please correct me if this feature was intentional.
It's considered a flaw and I would never rely on the practice. That said, I've never run into this issue with my Beretta or any of my all metal pistols, though, several of my poly guns do it infrequently.
good day I live on the Island of St. Croix in the USVI I do not seem to be able to bring up your web sight ...WHY do I get a 409 forbidden message??? do you have a phone number I can call. Thank you Clayton Perry
@@ClassicFirearms im not sure that really is a good thing. before purchasing anything I like to see reviews and informative videos that actually are factual about the items. I know you guys have to sell the items you are sending out videos of but to say how great an item is when most of the world knows they are junk doesnt do much for your credibility when reviewing other items.
Damn man just got email from yesterday and there sold out already! I swear I watch this video and went to CF and out of stock i was like SON of A B ! 🤦♂️
I love them too, I just hate where the safety is located. I would hate to do a mag dump, throw a mag in, pull back on the slide and accidentally throw that safety on.
Its not that hard to believe. Back in 1910 the us looked at and tested lugers chambered in odd calibers too. But they did terrible in tests. Hence the 1911 was adopted
Still waiting for them to email me!? Don't know what it takes to fix there mistake but I'm eager to learn. Karen pinion is there I'm stealing your money person that is prompt on the run around. Thanks classic firearms, for taking money from me.
@@mcpuggles1234 Ours always functioned. The main problem we had was armorers not changing out the recoil springs when they wore out. That's not a design issue, it's a maintenance one. Great pistol. I can't even think of how to break the locking blocks on these consistently without major abuse.
Im good on Beretta it took my history of never having a negligent discharge away. My 92s did a neg discharge when I racked the slide while on safety. As I do with my many of firearms before I leave home I rack it to make sure one is "in the head" ... When I racked the slide, it already had one chambered and it fired off the chambered round, INSIDE MY HOME!! What a shocker that was. I soon thereafter pawned the gun off. It pissed me off so bad though. Luckily I was home alone, I could have killed a family member or a neighbor if it was pointed towards a window.
The 92s has no firing pin safety. They added this feature with the 92f and subsequently the 92fs and m9 due to this happening. All modern 92 series pistols have this safety.
Since 85 I hated them ,and in 2005 I don't know why ,but I bought one .I took back every bad thing I ever said about them .it's a great pistol and I love it .
They're amazing when they haven't been abused for 20 years. And then after that, they work 90% of the time. Great pistol.
I had a beat to $hit M9 when I was in Afghanistan in 04. I used mecgar mags and it ran like a top. Just my experience.
Love my civilian M9. Definitely a classic gun and, in my opinion, the quintessential American 9mm.

@@danilodistefanis5990 no. American 9mm.
Liked my M9 so much .....I went out and got a M9A3 summer of 2020
Got my M9 end of January…M9A3 will be in October! Yes…Like you, I love the M9 and want both versions!
I have to settle for a1 cause I’m in California and the a3 or a4 are not on the roaster
you just have to love the Beretta M9, just a simple but rugged an reliable wepon, Great video cant wait for the next.

Hey devil dog!!! Thank you for your service. I spent 8 in the Marines. Thank you.
Good video. Semper Fi! I carried a Beretta in Iraq (contractor 04-05) never had a problem whatsoever. Very reliable even with JHP ammo.

I thought the seals and army sf were the first to get Beretta's.
To this day one of the best looking pistols ever

Do it. You won't regret it.
I hope you guys get more of the 92s models soon
I just hope they aren't 1300$ still hahaha
Hope you guys get more in, I was super bummed they sold out before I got a chance to jump on one.
Love my commercial M9, did a LTT trigger job on it. I run flush fit Mec Gar 18 round mags in it and man its nice!
I favored my 1911. Multiple perfect scores with the M9 made me a convert.
Carried this for 17 years as a Military Policeman.
15 round mags? Not in California unfortunately. Just bought one and will be getting it after background check on June 4
Should of mentioned some about it being a different locking system (not tilting barrel)
My favorite handgun
Why
This will be my first gun! I will be learning with this , hoping it'll help as a concealed carry aswell!
Will yall be getting anymore surplus of these in anytime soon?
Ita not surplus. Its just the commercial one on a good deal.

D Hammer Spring Gang (but mines a 92fs)

I prefer the sights of the 92fs but it's a 92 so it's a great gun.
Is the slide drop a new thing on the m9? My 92fs didnt have that feature

What holster are you using.
M9 better pistol than POS Sig320!
Good information but more close up angles with the camera showing the pistols features, would have been better for all of us watching.
Are you guys gonna get some legit Beretta M9 mags at an affordable price soon?!?!?

Old reliable. Semper Fi, Clint.

M9 made in USA., 92 made in Italy.
I finally bought one of these to celebrate hitting twenty in the Navy. No regrets whatsoever.
I had a cap gun as a child in the M9. Awesome and a lot of fun. Unfortunately it melted too bits when an arson in my area lit up my garage
Got a question for anyone that knows, can you change out the front sights on any of the M-9’s???or that style gun in general? Just wondering about a front night sight option.
IIRC depends on the slide used, and this pistol is fixed front.

Get a credit card. Capital one with usually give you a 500-1000 dollar limit even with no credit
Using my phone, I went to your website, and it's OUT OF STOCK . . .
Yes it is. That is called bate and switch.
It's not a bait and switch, its first come first serve. When there is a good deal it's going to sell out fast, not their fault.
I got my order in. At that price it is no doubt they sold out
Steven Dunn it’s Called we had a dozen but how about these over here we have in stock there only $200 more 🤦♂️

Dino Nucci WHERE’S BEN!!!!
In the reserves? With that beard...you must mean IRR?
