I'm a fan of the Berretta Storm compact carry. Medium size, good out of the box trigger and reduced recoil flip up due to the rotary barrel system. The space age looks are a plus too.
Just recently saw my local shop get a Beretta PX4 Compact Carry out of the blue and HAD to have it. Currently in the process of checking it's reliability and function and getting setup to start carrying it. So far it has performed without issue and is one of the smoothest shooting handguns I've ever shot.
@@bostonblunt Not using hollow point defensive ammo goes against decades of research stating that it is the best individual defensive choice in nearly all calibers. For regular citizens to defend against 2 and 4 legged attackers who don't carry windshields with them or shoot out the front of cars, a modern HP round is absolutely going to perform better than JHP or solid core rounds.

As a Army veteran and retired police officer my EDC is a LTT Beretta compact with trigger job and spartan night sights my bedside Beretta is a M9A3 that was worked over by Wilson Combat. Wilson does wonders for the 92 trigger.
A number of well considered questions and answers. I've carried for sixty plus years BUT I carried my employer's weapon, most often a 1911. Second to that was (of course) .38 Special. I have no reason to argue with people who prefer something else but the body of my experience mandates that I stay with the two above.
I certainly agree with your comments about the training and safety aspects of the SA/DA action design. I’ve always appreciated being able to hold my thumb on the hammer while re-holstering. I own a number of striker-fired guns; my best is the HKVP9SK but even with that one I always breath a little easier when I hear it click into the holster. That is also a training issue but at the end of the day my personal preference is for SA/DA handguns either semi-auto or revolver.
@@Nigriff I had a P30sk (same size as vp9sk) before and I feel it's a little big after I got p365. On the other hand, p365 could be too small for some as well.

If I was still in the counter insurgency business I’d take a different view.
Had the pleasure of meeting Mr Ayoob some years ago, albeit briefly, in North Carolina. While I do not prefer the Beretta, I do appreciate the information. May God continue to bless him .
I carry two platforms based on time of year and clothing and ability to conceal. I am a lifetime 1911 fan so often I am carrying my Colt Commander or my Colt Defender or Officer's ACP. When I choose to, or desire more capacity, I have two "go-to " guns that are just magnificent; My Wilson Combat customized Beretta 96A1 in .40S&W when I can hide it, or my Wilson Combat Beretta 92FS Compact. Wilson took my two wonderful smooth accurate Berettas and transformed them into Magnificent Berettas!!!!! I can not say enough, how wonderful the Wilson Combat Berettas truly are. Just the best...
Also, for many of us is the peace of mind of having a manual safety. I have the Beretta 92fs Inox (essentially the same gun being demonstrated in the video without the custom work) and I have trained myself to release the safety on the draw. The action to release the safety is simply to push the thumb, which is in its normal position when holding the gun, forward against the safety lever - no rotational action is necessary with the thumb, just straight forward. This is the way it was designed to be used but many owners do not do that. The safety system is part of the decocking mechanism. The Sig P series, which is also DA/SA, has a decocker, but it is a _dedicated_ decocker, which means no safety. When you press down on the Sig decocker it decocks the gun and then springs back into position and thus does what a decocker is supposed to do - drop the hammer safely, but it has no inherent safety consideration beyond that point. With the Beretta the decocker does not spring back but stays in the safe position. When in this position the Beretta has no "wall", the trigger simply travels front to back in the trigger guard limply. The gun CANNOT go off due to anything involving the trigger. The moment the decocker/safety is pushed forward the gun is immediately hot in DA mode. Now I earlier said that I take the gun off safety on the draw. In addition to this I have also trained myself to cock the hammer as I am raising the gun to acquire my sights. Now the gun is in single action mode. I am considering a hammer modification to make the cocking easier but I can accomplish this in reasonable time with the hammer which came with the gun. Frankly, I am very surprised that no one ever talks about the option of cocking the hammer in any of the videos I've watched online. Of course one does not have to be in single action to engage a threat. As Mas has already pointed out, the transition from the DA trigger pull to the SA pull is not that big of a deal, but I like the option of being able to cock the gun for SA if time permits.
Cocking a hammer during draw is not recommended due to it being a complex maneuver to perform in a high stress situation. If you want a single action beretta 92 with a manual 1911 style thumb safety, buy THAT version of a 92
@@M8Military Too late. I already have the 92fs and have invested too much time in training muscle memory ~LOL~, but you are quite right - cocked and locked comes down to the same thing on a 1911 as what I described in my comment regarding the 92fs.

My wife and I are less than a month into gun ownership and we've been craming knowledge and wisdom like final exams were just a day away. Massad is our Gun Yoda, lol. Maybe I'm mistaken but it seem like not many younger folks like ourselves aren't paying as much attention to the older folks who have so much personal experience and not just theory like a lot of the younger instructors out there. We listen to everyone, but we've found that instructors like Mas have boiled their talking points down to the most important and crucial bits. They cut out a lot of the fat and flair others use to keep their audiences entertained and for us that makes the lessons much more digestible. Thank you Mas and everyone at WC.
I love both my Wilson Combat 92G Vertec Centurion and my Langdon Tactical Beretta 92G Elite LTT full size. Both are amazing pistols that I would have no trouble relying on in a pinch if I'm forced to utilize a 9mm platform pistol. Still prefer to carry either a 40S&W, or a 1911 Commander in 45ACP-but that's just me.
I like the mag release on the H&K VP9. You can drop the mag with your strong hand middle finger. Many do not like it because it is different than most other handguns. It works very well for me as does the three separate interchangeable grips that allows the firearm to fit my hand better than most handguns.
Introduced to the Sig Sauer P220 in 1983 and led the transition from the wheel gun to a real gun :-) with my department and looked at the Barretta. I liked it. I carry my P229; I carried on the job for over 15 years and now with the RMR for my aging eyes, it has been the steady performer for me. Semper Fi!
I just ordered my first Wilson 92G centurion, hope to have it next week and spend a little time on handling it before I get out to the range, hope to see more learning videos on this centurion, thanks a bunch friend
I love Berettas. I have an LTT combat, and an old 92F. I would love to get a Wilson. I also like how WC gets along well with LTT. They are professionals. Keep up the good work!
I've carried a Beretta 92FS 9mm for service from 2003-2019. I've never touched the Beretta 92G 9mm, but I can say that I wasn't a fan of the 92FS. I shot 'expert' with the Beretta starting my first time handling it, but it always felt cumbersome and slow. Back in... maybe 2012, I picked up a Springfield XD in .45 and a 4" barrel. On my first day at the range, the recoil pattern absolutely shocked me! I was amazed at how the weapon smoothly returned to my aimpoint after every squeeze of the trigger. As one can imagine, it made follow-up shots very quick as I didn't need to fully re-aim my weapon, just a quick adjustment, and I was good to shoot. I read that Beretta has a better reputation than I'm used to hearing, but after carrying a Springfield XD, I can't imagine myself carrying much else (except the compact versions, of course).
I have a Langdon 92G RDO and it is phenomenal. Shorter reset, smoother trigger (and other parts), lighter trigger, and a Red Dot mounting option that cowitnesses with the irons.
I guess I would not have guessed that! I loved my Beretta 92 but sold it a long time ago. With some possible regrets. So Mr. Ayoob carries a 1911, a Beretta 92 style pistol as well as a Glock. So the big question is, did the military get it wrong? Great video!
Just finished reading your ayoob files in American handgunner magazine about Davy Crockett , absolutely wonderful. Love your research on all your ayoob files, thanks so much
My EDC pistol is the Beretta PX4 STORM COMPACT CARRY in 9mm. I’m a late arrival to the DA/SA pistols (having been sold on them by Earnest Langdon) but a big fan. IMHO, if you can learn to shoot a DA/SA trigger well, you can shoot any trigger system well!
Great that you point out changes we need to make as old age creeps up on us. Yes Arthur is requiring us to make changes in our lifestyle daily. Will we some day see accessories for ADA, or enhancements for disabilities who knows.
Great! I have a topic request. It’s easy for me to “get the impression” that the Wilson Combat team produces a finer end product (whether ground-up or enhanced). But it might be nice to get a layman’s insight into the “Wilson advantage.” In other words if I’m going to spend a premium price on a nice pistol, what the secret sauce that I’m NOT getting with an off the shelf product? Thanks guys, happy new year!
Great question, I’d like to hear the sales pitch! I have three 92’s. My first was purchased in 2001, a used 92fs circa 91’ & it still runs beautifully! 2nd was a 92X compact. Very nice. Then the WC 92 Centurion. The WC has superior sights, superior trigger, feels lighter and more comfortable in the hand. With the right holster, they carry well. Definitely worth the $$ If I could afford a WC 1911 I’d have one!
I would like to know this too. $1,025 for a Wilson Combat Beretta Centurion (non-tuned) is... (sorry) not what I can call "cheap" (inexpensive). I'd like to know how much the one Mr. Ayoob was displaying cost? Thanks and keep up the great videos! =) Happy New Year! =)
@@hoag2531 Good to know, Ol' Gyrene. How are you liking it? If I get your name right, there's some Semper Fi in your blood and few people know firearms like our U.S. Marines. =)
I think too many people try to slowly pull the double action when you need to steadily squeeze through. Dont try to stack the double action trying to find the wall, just squeeze through and its quite accurate with double action.
The Beretta is like a Ferrari, an Italian cult item, unfortunately many consider it old technology because of the double action single action mechanism. Here in Italy they look at Beretta as a second class surpassed handgun. Everyone prefers Glock and CZs, why, I don't know.
I’ve transitioned to Sigs. My hands are a bit too small for a reliable grip on a G19 without a frame modification. Favorite carry gun is a P226 in 9mm w/ 18 round mags. I love the SA/DA design especially for re-holstering. And if the 1st shot needs to be precision I’ve practiced cocking the firearm after the draw with good results. Next in line is a P365XL with the original P365 for pocket carry in the summer.
Got to love the loaded and ready DA/SA action. There's a nice video on the other safety features built into the classic series Sigs that made me appreciate them even more. Forget who did the video but he shows all the functional internal parts of each. No 'exterior safety' but a few internal ones....then just add the decocker and the DA to top it off. Like Mas said...just have to put in the trigger time.
Massad, many many years ago I read one of your books or articles when I was just getting into shooting in my early 20s, I bought a former police issued Ruger P90 45 because you spoke so highly of it in your competitions against 45s that were much more expensive, I've had many handguns come and go since then but guess what, I still have that Ruger P90 haha something magical about that gun, great videos and keep up the awesome content!

Not knocking W/C because I also have their Centurion. I recently learned of LTT from this channel. I bought their Centurion LTT and the trigger is way better than the W/C which I thought would never be beat. I guess maybe just the luck of the draw. The problem I have with LTT is my RDO slide. The front sight keeps blowing off at the range. I have sent it back, but to avail it still flys off. 😡 great video sir as always.

Nothing beats a 92. And I really like my 84's as well.
You should do an episode regarding budget carry guns, I have a taurus g3 and I'm curious as to your analysis.
My favorite CC is my Beretta 92X Centurion, with Wilson Combat sights. It carries so well!
Thanks for another excellent video... I have always been a fan of traditional double action pistols and feel the Beretta 92 is one of the best. 👍
I like the mag release on the H&K VP9. You can drop the mag with your strong hand middle finger. Many do not like it because it is different than most other handguns. It works very well for me as does the three separate interchangeable grips that allows the firearm to fit my hand better than most handguns.
0:36 and many other vignettes from many other videos prove that you could switch career paths and do great things as a stand up comedian Mas.
I have many Beretta firearms n my absolute favourites
are my M9 n M9A3
Introduced to the Sig Sauer P220 in 1983 and led the transition from the wheel gun to a real gun :-) with my department and looked at the Barretta.
I have the 92X and a little tiny bit of a trigger work it's a beautiful piece
Thank you Sir. I also carry the 92fs compact. And I'm lucky to live in a free-state. Hope you have a safe and Happy New Year
I love Berettas. I have an LTT combat, and an old 92F. I would love to get a Wilson. I also like how WC gets along well with LTT. They are professionals. Keep up the good work!
They work together at times. The Beretta is one example.
This guy is so badass its actually unbelievable
I have a Langdon 92G RDO and it is phenomenal. Shorter reset, smoother trigger (and other parts), lighter trigger, and a Red Dot mounting option that cowitnesses with the irons.
I guess I would not have guessed that! I loved my Beretta 92 but sold it a long time ago. With some possible regrets. So Mr. Ayoob carries a 1911, a Beretta 92 style pistol as well as a Glock. So the big question is, did the military get it wrong? Great video!
Thanks
The Beretta’s are my favorite! The LTT PX4 is awesome as are the tuned 92’s
Just finished reading your ayoob files in American handgunner magazine about Davy Crockett , absolutely wonderful. Love your research on all your ayoob files, thanks so much
Many thanks!
Great upload Mr. Ayoob, everything I have read of yours over the years has also been excellent! Thank you!
Have some beans
Great question, I’d like to hear the sales pitch!
I have three 92’s. My first was purchased in 2001, a used 92fs circa 91’ & it still runs beautifully! 2nd was a 92X compact. Very nice. Then the WC 92 Centurion. The WC has superior sights, superior trigger, feels lighter and more comfortable in the hand. With the right holster, they carry well. Definitely worth the $$
If I could afford a WC 1911 I’d have one!
Happy New Year! =)
@@PurrsPlace I recently bought one w/ Wilson trigger job for about $1400. all in.
@@hoag2531 Good to know, Ol' Gyrene. How are you liking it? If I get your name right, there's some Semper Fi in your blood and few people know firearms like our U.S. Marines. =)
Interesting and insightful presentation of your sentiments on the Beretta Centurion. Beretta quality is tops. Happy New Year.
Thanks, Massad 😁
Can't argue with wisdom. Choosing between 2 diamonds....good analogy. Thanks. Happy New Year.
I enjoy watching your videos. I learned a lot from content. Happy New Year to you and your family. 👍🇺🇸🙏
Happy new year!
I have a Wilson Combat Beretta 92G Brig Tact, you get the best of both worlds WC and Beretta!
Central Lake is practically in my back yard and I didn't know about this ! Thanks for the heads up.
As a Beretta 92 Fanboy... I fully approve 👍
Thanks for sharing ! Your knowledge is very valuable. Have a wonderful New Year !
Thanks you are very helpful I enjoy your videos and I’m still learning about gun control I will keep watching again thank you
Thanks for the update and honesty.
Any time!
I shot with Mass at Wolf’s range in NH.
I was shopping my Wilson full size 1911.
That was 1999.
THANK you SIR. For all the GREAT advice you give us. It has Helped me in a few situations in this CRAZY world we find ourselves in today. KISS ALWAYS and OLD DEVIL DOG
Beretta is a fantastic firearms manufacturer. I prefer German engineering and craftsmanship.
HK and Walther..... Beretta has some excellent classic pistols.
Thank you for sharing this video 🙏
Not knocking W/C because I also have their Centurion. I recently learned of LTT from this channel. I bought their Centurion LTT and the trigger is way better than the W/C which I thought would never be beat. I guess maybe just the luck of the draw. The problem I have with LTT is my RDO slide. The front sight keeps blowing off at the range. I have sent it back, but to avail it still flys off. 😡 great video sir as always.
They say the Beretta 92 is the gun the newbs get. Then they move on to other things, but when they become pros they come back to the Beretta 92
Thank you, Mr. Atyoob!! Been a fan of you for years. Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks, will do!
I like and carry a Girsan Regard MC. Best carry gun I've had.
I am an army veteran and a cop.
I've been a gun owner since I was 12. I own many guns, don't know exact number.
My grandfather who got me into guns lives near Antrim Michigan
I never hear of Pin Shoot.
I am now trying to register because of Massad.
I've had a WC Beretta 92G Brigadier Tactical on order for almost two years now. I hope it comes some day.
WC website states that model Is no longer available!
@@TheGV50 The WC website does not state that. It states "*Backorders Currently Not Being Accepted*
At this time we have NO ETA for Orders to Resume. "
@@METALITHrevetments I see, Why don't you try the Centurian Tact? I have both and I love them!
Absolutely love my Beretta 92 . Thinking hard on sending to Wilson combat for work
Thank you for your advice and opinion. Happy New Year.
Thanks.
I do trust your honest opinions.
Always!
I diverse my carry guns as well. Sig Sauer P365, Sig Sauer C3 1911, CZ P-01 Omega, 642 Airweight.
I would love to see a comparison between this compact and the cz 75 compact.
I have a similar Wilson Beretta, mine is the Vertec 92G Centurion Tactical, prefer the flat backstrap, very nice pistol.
I always appreciate your input and am gaining an interest in the Bertta 92. I still love my 1911s and use several striker fired handguns, but I've not been 100% happy with striker fired actions no matter the brand. Keep up the great content!
92fs is great when you replace the trigger and trigger bar and decock only and hammer and hammer spring and and and... Love mine though
MASSIVE THANKS 👍‼️ for YOUR PROFESSIONAL CHANNEL...
Thank you too!
Wow, the legend carries what I carry. That just made me feel a little more valid. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
