NOW Can You Guess What It Is Yet! part 2

- Nobody guessed correctly what I started making last time, although some viewers guessed most of the wood I was using. This is probably the last chance to it all correctly before I post the full build video, so have a go!
Here's an obscure clue, 12 November 1971.
13:20 (BST) 10/Sept/2023 An update for you all. All but one material has been answered amongst all the comments of the two videos, so look through the comments and see what's missing. Once you get that, you just have to identify what it is as well. Good luck
Call out to Erickhill for supplying the new moisture meter. They have three to choose from:

I would call it a conversation piece.
Not sure I will know what it is even after you finish it.
I like that. Cheers
Clear as mud lol😂
Two viewers know what it is, but not all the materials yet. I can tell you I wouldn't have known what it was. They don't look like they used to 😆
Its definitely intriguing...... cant say thats a wrong answer!
Do i win a prize?
HaHa, intriguing would be 10k views in one week, and if it reaches that then I think you would deserve a prize. Start sharing ;-)
A wooden bicycle pump. For some reason.
The long piece looks ash like. The sandwich at the end looked like maple between zebrano, and the shavings on the inlay look and sound like African blackwood (it's like hard plastic that stuff).
Hey, you got the Ash right. And it does look a bit like an old bicycle pump, although it isn't.
Table leg.
No, but I like the idea of that.
Croquet mallet. Ash, rosewood, holly, ebony, carbon fiber and titanium.
It's not ziricote, but it is a croquet mallet!
You might want to edit out the correct answer to what it is and try to discover the materials before trying again. All but one material has been answered amongst all the comments of the two videos, so surely a winner will emerge soon.
Edited. I guess that joint screw is the one missing? Wild guess @@mitchwoodwork
Yep, that's foxed everyone so far. In fact only one guess at it.
@@mitchwoodwork It's hard to tell, perhaps a sillicon-bronze or brass? The hint of yellow tells me it's a copper alloy of sorts.
That's probably close enough for the metal.
The thin inlays look like ebony. Whatever it is going to be is extraordinary. That’s all I have.
Thank you. You're right about the ebony.
Is it a croquet mallet made from ebony and holly?
That's the what, and two of the materials, so good try. You may want to edit out the what whilst you work out the other materials.
Looks like Madagascar ebony, Holly, steel, carbon fiber tube, the large piece looks like catalpa or gum, not sure on that one. Just guessing what it is for now, maybe a fly fishing rod?
Ebony, Holly, and carbon fibre are all right, well done. But it's not a fishing rod.
A flute.
Think you’re making a wooden plane
I can understand that, what with the block size and some metal componentry. However I have made those before, so sadly that's not right.
